Grid 2019 feels amazing to drive, and I love it to death. It might have some quirks, but it feels so good to just jump in a race and drive. I love all of the Grid games. Grid 2 still looks amazing too but I had the dust on the camera lens effect and there’s no real way to turn it off.
In grid autosport the traction control is somehow still active even though you turned it off on the difficulty settings 😓 welp it's a failed product after all and i heard it's even ported on mobile like wtf
I've been playing GRID Autosport on mobile because I wanted a mobile racing game fix while travelling overseas in my spare time. It's amazing to see the game completely ported over to mobile with touch screen but a controller would be more suitable. There are some things I like about GRID Autosport, one being some of the car engine sounds and other elements. But, nothing will ever beat the original game from 2008, which I'm still playing to this day on my home computer and thoroughly enjoying! It even works on my laptop! Great video (even though it's 3 years old), and thanks for spending the time to dive deep into all these games. It's sad the newer games have never bested the original. I installed this in Game Pass while watching your GRID series comparison and uninstalled it without even starting it, watching the gameplay was enough to tell me it's not a game for me btw I really loved the original GRID and played it a lot...also loved Toca Race Driver 3 (the last Toca Race Driver game before it became GRID series) those were proper simcade games, since than it went more and more arcade
"Rewind" feature in GRID is similar to "mulligan" feature in golf games? By using "mulligan" you can retry your last shot, supposed you make a grave mistake.
Ive started building a PS3 library. Grid and Dirt 2 are definitely going to be the first racing games I get. Ive heard Criteroin'e Most Wanted is def worth getting too, hqve you played that one?
I am from the old school of NFS players, that hasn't liked a single game for the last 18 years. I did try Criterion's MW. Pesonally did not like it. If you have played Burnout Paradise - it's essentially that.
This is great, the difference between 15 and 30 is very apparent but I can't see a differenced between 30 and 60. Maybe slightly during the racing game and the fighting game but honestly wasn't sure
I have read this type of comment many times. Some of them seem like they are trolling, others like yours seem genuine. I have also experienced a situation where a person is standing behind me and watching me reduce the graphics settings in CSGO on their old PC and not see the difference. BUT when they started playing themselves, actually commanding the gameplay, they instantly said "Oh yeah, this is smoother than before". This is a rather old video and my setup is quite a bit more powerful now. I play F1 on a 144hz screen (so see 144fps native) now. Sometimes when recording gameplay at 60fps, I feel that it's different. The capture software interferes with the gameplay so it's maybe not 60, but definitely not a smooth 144fps either. The more someone experiences it and the higher fps they go, the more sensitive they become over time. Also, when going from 144/120fps to 60 now, it also feels weird, which is a curse in a way. Furthermore, it is possible that the difference in fps might be less noticeable to the untrained eye when viewing faster moving images in some cases (like the F1 example). I remember viewing the first GTA 5 trailer for PC in 60fps. It was night & day comparing to the trailers for Xbox360 and PS3 which were 30fps, so much smoother. I can't believe I just responded with such a massive answer. 🤦😄
@@MashifyLV Yeah first I'm definitely being genuine, I just watched the panning shot of the city a second time and between 60 and 30 FPS all I see is a brightness difference, but otherwise they both look smooth. Maybe my eyes are just stuck at perceiving 30 FPS 😅
@@carsonweekly Well there is this other possibility. It feels weird mentioning it in 2023, but if the video quality settings are not set above 480p (maybe even 720p in some cases I think), the video is not even playing in 60fps, so no difference to be seen
Well. I guess this qualifies as what I asked for in the other video's comments section... I also suppose I stand by what I said. Re-release RDG with added content and a couple more features and call it a decade. Give it Driveclub-level graphics and don't fk with much else unless it's adding to the physics model but BALANCING it in the exact manner that the original RDG would've done. If a play test even HINTS at people thinking it's off, scrap the physics additions and just make it exactly like RDG.

Phew, I was confused for a while after thinking about this game after so long. Had to look up which was which to be sure. Glad you straightened that out for me. *early 2019:* Geez. At this point they should just re-release the first game exactly as it was, but with more tracks, more cars, more racing/even types, fix drifting difficulty, and maybe add more car customization and/or more in-depth tuning of/for a proper suspension model. *end of 2019 section:* So they finally got back towards the right track for physics, improved car sounds, and added back good interiors, but everything else is still fucked and presentation/menu settings are worse than ever? Got it. Do you have an update going over Legends??
The first GRID, and likewise the first DIRT, are two of my favorite racing games of all time. And it's a shame (to me) that as each of the series evolved, they pushed more and more of their career simulation aspects to the side and basically just became arcade racers. No more going to your garage (or in the case of DIRT, your trailer), getting yourself organized, lining up sponsors or hiring team mates. Just pick a car, pick a track and race. They both feel like empty shells of what they used to be.
So they spent the last four games in the series trying to reinvent/fix shit that wasn't broken in the original RDG... At this point if they just did a graphics remaster of RDG it would be the best thing they release since 2008. Glad I decided to quit the series since I found out Grid 2 wasn't going to have a cockpit view. It just showed their level of thinking wasn't in the right place. RDG was clearly a fluke or the devs responsible wasn't kept on for the sequels.
never found a game with better wheel feel (G29 here) than Autosport, wish the newer editions simply kept all that code as is. All the other ones like forza, project cars etc don't come close imo.
Hard mode is pretty equivalent with RD GRID's Hard mode from my experience. The only part of GRID 1 that's significantly harder are the Ravenwest head to head challenges but even then Grid Legends has its equivalent in the Fully Upgraded challenges
I agree with most of what you said but for me Grid 2 is better than RD:Grid,yes after 2K hrs I am obviously biased but that one just clicked with me from the get-go.One thing I'd like to note is that for a 40 min vid you didn't go nearly in depth of actual problems instead of surface ones which to me seems like a missfire,nevertheless I do respect you went more in-depth than anything else I've seen on the franchise
