Covering fishing trip reports from the shore to boats. A lot of my sessions are short notice and unplanned due to other commitments. I mainly target the south east for this reason. When the opportunity arises i will venture further afield. Videos are generally uploaded the same day or the next day as to give an accurate view of how the venue was fishing at that time.
I find my best catches are 1 hour before high to 2 hours down on big tides, small tides can be similar depending on time of year. Now you be looking at rays to bluey, Sandeel, squid or other fish baits, dogfish may take before the rays though. Use pulley rigs, size 3/0 or 4/0 sufficient, I use pulley droppers and up and overs from Seaswest on ebay, never let me down. Using 2 or 3 hook flappers with black lug or lug/squid cocktail picks up eels, bass, flatties, hound pups, dogs, Gurnard in the summer here, winter be mostly whiting, dogs, rockling an dab. Use 2 rods, 1 close around the gutter at the bottom of the shingle, and another as far as you can cast. I generally get here before the tide reaches the shore to see what the seabed is as it changes. Feel free to drop a message of your results or anymore questions for this area.
Looks like we have the continuous NE winds which will come left to right slightly onshore, will probably stir some waves that are good for bass, don't cast too far for them, lug/squid strips
Great vid mate I’ve just moved back to hernebay and hoping to start fishing again soon I’ll keep my eyes out for you. I used to live there right by the glen when I was a kid. Thumbs up and subd
Hi I have couple of questions about fishing Tower 23 if I may. What is the nearest car parking as I have slight walking difficulties? Is it best to fish on the sandbank or in the gulley closer in? I’m looking for a comfortable promenade spot. I usually fish Fisherman’s beach but find it tough on the knees. Many thanks
The nearest car park is a bit of a walk, there are car parks by Dymchurch but T23 still a fair way down. TN29 0HN, use a dirt track takes you to pirate springs, st marys bay. Its shingle onto sand but you can park right on the beach, dont have loads of shingle like fishermans beach to walk on, can fish 2 hours up 3 down without having to go far to cast an retrieve, this could be worth a go. I have had some good catches there.
As for Promenade spots that way, you fish between T23 and Dymchurch on the prom but sessions can be short with the tide, avoiding crowds Dymchurch end is harder
If using 2 rods, keep them different distances, had as many fish just a short cast. Simple 2 or 3 hook rigs will do. Black lug or black lug tipped with squid does well. I always try an fish just before low if i can up to high tide and over. How are you fishing at the moment.
@@hunkydoryangling8200 at the moment I have 2 rods and was using a soft plastic lure one on and squid on the other i was only using one hook on the bait one is having a multi hook like essential
I struggled down at Hythe last week mate. Fished 3hrs up 2 down for 3 whiting! HW was just after 2245hrs, everything looked perfect, I don’t know why it’s so hard down there at the moment!
I would have live baited a small pin whiting in close, put a big bait at long distance (pendulum cast) and kept 1 rod for messing around with the 3 hook rigs. Still you managed a bass and thornback so not to bad. New subscriber 👍
Make you right in the live bait, i had 3 rods, should have dropped 1 down to a live. I might be out tonight, walked along beach yesterday, never seen so many squid eggs, be nice to get a live 1 an put it back out for the bass. 👍
@@hunkydoryangling8200 Hi, I've never heard of using squid eggs as bait but I would be interested to see how you got on. I normally put a pin whiting out later in the season but if there's a lot of small fish then there's definitely a chance of a big fish close by.
My bad, i made that sound wrong using eggs 😂👍. I will use jigs try to catch the squid, saw the eggs on the beach giving an indication they are about laying. 👍🎣
