I think it can be improved by raising the cable height. When the arm and the cable form a 180 degree angle, there's zero tension on the biceps

Apologies if I misled you, but I don't believe there's anything in the title, video or description about it being adjustable, a life hack or one size fits all. It's just an exercise demo in a unique way, if it helps one person with their training there's value.

I don't see any problem with grip. For strict pullups: Ideally you need a bar a little higher to be able to fully control the eccentric to full extension of elbows and to fully unlock your scapulae in the bottom position. On concentric, explosive pull, ideally to bar below clavicles if you can. Don't crane the neck. You are kipping a bit. I don't mind kipping if that is what is intended with that version of you pullup, but it looks like you are doing a more gymnastic hollow bodied pullup versus an arch back pullup or crossfit kip styled pullup. Give a slight pause at the top with elbows cued down and back, then slower eccentric down. Don't worry about rep count. Keep strict form and rep until form crumbles, then stop and rest.

I have a 45° scoliosis S curve... I've been squatting for almost a week now. I used to sway mostly to the right side, I'm now standing straighter. I never thought I could straighten up my back naturally. Now I know there's a possibility. I'm documenting my progress with pictures. This is going to be part of my daily lifestyle and not just a trend.

@tristanhandcoaching

Might be good address the low back pain first, I'd suggest looking at quad flexibility (Look up side lying quad stretch) and glute engagement. Once those are resolved you could move onto the back extensions.
@hammill444

Literally impossible to do with chronic lower back pain. At 52, just too much pain.
@tristanhandcoaching
@tristanhandcoaching 2 года назад
Try using a low chair or stool to sit on and stand on books. Over time use less books or progress to a lower stool. 52 is still young for this. Might help to build more abdominal and core engagement also.

I'd ideally be doing that without the low back round, so stay higher than where I am going where your low back stays straight. With any disc issues I'd aim to keep the waist area engaged and tight to protect the back, hope that helps

Like the exercise - I'm all over using the landmine in dozens of creative ways and movements... BUT without at least a spotting pin in place on side of arm not in use (I see the barbell catch - so maybe he's happy with that)... But if he (for some unforeseen reason) cannot get the bar on that single barbell catch - things might not end so well... Nevertheless it is a good (novel...) way to escape having to do some similar movement(s) laying on the floor... gives a little better stretch to the movement... Stay safe - Lots of progress coming your way...

You didn’t even answer the question. Your video fails to address people who have been in the gym 5+ days a week, counting calories, getting good sleep, eating enough protein for 2 years who want to know how much they should expect to pay to get a trainer to help them to the next level. Don’t make a video that has a misleading title.
@tristanhandcoaching
@tristanhandcoaching 2 года назад
Thanks for the feedback Travis. Your specific example highlights the difficulty of a one size fits all answer to this question and that's what I was aiming to address in the video. Given even the background you gave, there would need to be more detail given to enable a good estimate. Some examples: What's the goal? strength/muscle/confidence, Are you highly motivated or need more ongoing support? How soon do you want to reach your goal? What's your technical knowledge and exercise technique, does it need to be regularly overseen or you only need to be guided once? There's many more of these questions that need to be asked to formulate an appropriate solution and then know what the investment in terms of time, energy and money will be involved. Most want to ask "How much?" before any of this investigation is done and that's the reason they never get anywhere. They can't even take the time to invest in the process of figuring this all out. Hope that helps.
