Jessie and I (Trey) don't believe in the old saying that goes, "the two best days of a boat owner's life are the day they buy their boat and the day they sell it." It's the days in-between that are the happiest. Houseboating is in our soul, and we know it will be integral to the rest of our lives. We've been saving since we realized on our first date in 2013 that we both want an adventurous boat life. I grew up on houseboats as a kid, and Jessie was on board (pun intended) from day one with me. So we're chasing our dreams of a more adventurous life as digital nomads living part time on our houseboat on Lake Lanier, and hope to show you that you can live happy boating days, too.

Great video guys. I'm getting older and with some health issues, having a 2000sqft-ish house and one acre of land, yard maintenance is getting to me. I want to downsize, but will never go back to an apartment. I'm tossing around the idea of a RV or houseboat and to me a houseboat seems like a great idea, especially if a pole shift is coming soon. What's your thoughts on a sailboat-houseboat because, what if someday, we can't get fuel? So many questions. Just sub'd to yall.
Hi Jessie and Trey, I noticed when you opened the oven that the floor had a lot of cooking mess. Line the oven floor with Foil which will catch this and easily transferred to the bin.
Hi Trey, To the screen left I notice a white flag fluttering in the breeze on a boat across the waterway. It looks like the Australian White Ensign used on Royal Australian Navy vessels. Can you identify that flag for me? Thanks in advance.
Thanks for sharing. I’ve always wanted to stay on a houseboat but I’m 62 and haven’t yet. But I came close riding with you and your family. Thank you. God Bless.
Hi. In Vietnam there are zero Marina's that have a service to pump out waste. You can get quite easily private guys who bring their boat to yours and pump it out for you, but right after that they pump it into the sea. So I'm about to start building a houseboat and considering compost toilets, then I can build a compost heap in the forests along the shore. A lot more effort but I dread the thought of my waste going into the ocean. Thanks for your videos, but may I suggest far longer and detailed videos. Don't listen to advice about short videos, that applies to entertainment and other genres, not for informative/educational/practical videos.
what's your gen kwh output? battery pack should match what gen is. for me, i'm using 6 410ah powerqueen batteries wired in parallel making 2460ah at 12v and equivalent to 29.52kwh for offgrid living.
Did the Sun -Mar non-electric compact for ten years.. Worked OK if not used every day by one or two people. Cleaning is gross, disgusting but with gloves, care and a quick shower and beer, tolerable. Good customer service, at least in 2012
i love coming back to this video when i am wishing i was on a houseboat. yall are a great couple, along with the little one and the doggo. these boats are expensive but im keeping my eye out for one. may go custom i think tho
Thanks for the post! i work on alot of Marine Heads mostly Raritan 25 years now. The new heads are wonderful and have had many of the women comment on why they waited so long.... The best solution for odor control has been the new raritan head with the purisan EX . I have two costumers with regular household toilets and have for years in the houseboat and have been told that they work "GREAT" so who's to say?😎
I am so genuinely jealous rn! & Im not mad about it! Y'all are living THE life! Living the dream & here I am still dreaming of life! Looks like that little girl is going to grow up having some really special experiences!
Is sealing off all the cold air vents a good idea, are they needed for ventilation of the engine room? I would be concerned about toxic fumes building up.
The one thing you didn’t mention is how much time you actually spend on your boat. Even if it’s as much as a weekend a month it would be a whole lot cheaper to rent a houseboat. Definitely cheaper on the stress of maintenance. I sold my last boat because we were only using it one or two times a year and the registration of the boat and trailer, taxes, maintenance was just too much to justify, it was cheaper to rent a boat for those few times, but now that I’m turning into an old fogie I want to spend more time fishing, from a pontoon boat, with an enclosed cabin with air conditioning. This Arkansas heat will kill you. I chose a pontoon because I don’t get around too good anymore and the large deck would be nice
I just found your channel. I've been binge watching houseboat tour videos and found this video. How fun to ride out a snowstorm on a boat. I live in Calif. Right now, we're under a hurricane watch. 1st one in history. I would love to have a houseboat, so I'm going to live vicariously through you guys. Claire is a cutie.
I realize I'm late with this but I only just now saw the vid. I have seen numerous tours of various houseboats but no one has ever gone out on a cruise and explained what was needed to be done before leaving port. Thank you.

Next time you do that you should turn the blowe off and close the door to the engine compartment while fueling. When finished open the door again and run the blower for 10 minutes, then you can start the engines. Leaving the hatch open will let the gas fumes to enter the engine compartment, the gas fumes are heavier than the air. Crancking sdthe engines with those fiumes in the bilge is a safeth hazard. The whole boat could blow up into a gigantic ball of fire.
Hey guys! Wow those lakes look stunning and all those little islands and coves. My dream life. Great to see and video and the drone action looks great...are you both now comfortable with flying it? The footage looks real smooth 👌 The houseboat looks incredible! Can't wait to see you all out there again. Stay safe , looking forward to your next. 🙏
