In this week’s Deep Houseboat Life video, we brave the wind, leave our slip, and head to our favorite, private island on Lake Lanier to off-grid houseboat camp. We were lucky it was an unseasonably warm weekend, as we live to explore on our Lake Lanier houseboat. New Starlink, inverter, and lithium ion batteries from Battle Born in tow, we were able to put our new equipment to the test in the cooler, windier months, while also enjoying the serene simplicity of being away from it all as winter turns to spring. We've been getting lots of questions lately about whether or not we're going to open a swag store for stuff with our logo on it. This is such a fun idea to us! Though, we're unsure if anyone would actually want a coffee mug, coozie, hat, t-shirt, tote bag, etc. with our Deep Houseboat Life logo on it. If we created swag items with our logo or something related to our houseboat channel on it, which sounds most appealing to you? Is it a t-shirt? Coffee mug? Hat? Tote bag? Coozie? Something else? “Nothing” is totally Ok, too. Let us know in the comments or through the poll in our Community tab.

If you ever by chance decide to visit Central Europe, Slovakia in particular, we organise trail races all over our tiny country with a couple of friends, have been doing this for 15 years as a hobby, anything from 25 k up to 100 miles in the most interesting parts of our country, our ranges are very similar to the Appalachians, Blue ridge mountains, or smokey mountains.

Oh wow, this is SUPER cool and very intriguing! A trail race would be a really fun reason to visit Slovakia. We did an international race before we had Clare (Costa Rica for a triathlon), and had a fantastic time exploring the country after the race. Bet the scenery is beautiful in Slovakia. Are there any trail races that you organize that you recommend we try? We're more of the 25k-50k distance group at the moment.

The scenery is beautiful, that sunset was beautiful also, I only do you tube so I am probably going to miss out on some things, but that's what I allow myself to do, I can't stay on my phone all the time, but I'll try and keep up lol, I definitely would buy a mug and probably a t shirt too, Clare is really growing up fast, she is so cute, well til next time 👍🙏❤️😎ciao ciao

She's talking a whole lot now! And absolutely no pressure at all to keep up with us on any other social media. We're happy to have you along for the journey wherever you'd like to participate. Bravo! Looking forward to getting sun back and boating weather! Putting new tires on the trailer this year and maybe redoing the kitchen/BBQ area. Nice to know StarLink is available in my area now. Hardware a bit pricey at $2500 for best and $120/month. No contracts though! 😮

Hey Ben! Thanks so much for watching our video. Fun drone shots in this one ha ha. Hopefully the weather turns warmer for you all sooner rather than later. What do you plan to do with your kitchen and BBQ area for the updates? Keep us posted on how the reno goes! BBQing is fun enough...but BBQing on a boat is always epic! Yeah, the hardware investment is a lot for best, and we couldn't justify it for our houseboat. The RV version has been a good fit for us so far, especially since we can turn off service when we don't want to use it/pay for it. Though, can imagine if Starlink is the only or one of few options for internet, best could be worth it to have real access. We're lucky at least to not be in that situation. Hopefully prices will come down over time to make it more affordable. Happy boating, and cheers to warmer weather on the way 🤙

Thank you so much! The drone takes way better footage than we could have imaged. It will be fun to play around with it this summer. And thank you on the 50k! It was quite the adventure 😀 . Not sure if there will be a next one, but was glad to at least have the opportunity to do this one.
