Hi Folks, it's October 2015, and you have likely noticed I haven't posted a video in a long time. I have a 3 year old now, and she's taking up most of my free time. Although Ive still done new to me stuff on my CRV and Element - like: Blower motor transistors, AC and condenser fans, transmission mounts, window regulators, knock sensors, brake bleeds etc., it takes so long to make a video and google has made youtube quite confusing to post stuff, that I just cant justify that these days when the little one wants to "Play!". The CRV has 220,000+ miles now and the Element has 210,000+ miles now. Best of luck to everyone, hopefully I can drop by to reply to comments now and then.
@@user-uf5dl4gk8j it’s a synthetic grease made to lubricate caliper bolts. The one used in the video is made by CRC. You’re supposed to avoid using petroleum based greases as those can break down the rubber boots. An alternative, I’ve also started to use a silicone grease in the last few years made by 3M which I like better. The 3M grease is clear, while the CRC is black, so if a clear grease it gets on your clothing it’s less messy to try to clean.
Thanks for the video. Although this tip doesn't help with the removal, it helps with the reinstall (for any of the clip-held thingys) - smear a little silicon grease on the clips and their receivers. Things go back together much easier (and your're prepping things for any future dis-assembly). YMMV
Handy to find…and almost complete…except there is ANOTHER adjuster at the bottom under a small cap. And you didn’t mention WHICH direction to turn the screw to accomplish the required amount of vertical adjustment.
I put Honda up on 6" ramps for front wheels. Drained oil, then realised the oil pan looked like it sloped Forward still, so I jacked front of car up another 2" and got another half litre of oil out. Why would you you build a sump that does not drain oil when the car is flat let alone on ramps
Thank you so much for this!!! I followed your video and was able to do this myself with help from my mom in under an hour! ☺️☺️ My dealership wanted to charge $300 plus for an hour and half labor 🤬 This video was a money saver!!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hi: my car oxygen sensor replaced, do the smoke inspection. now no fault code, does the car have to run for 200 mi before going to the smoke inspection?
Super helpful! I bought a 2003 a few days ago. OMG you wouldn't believe the cabin filters. It was like someone just poured dirt and leaves into the intake.
Excellent, simple and clear teaching. Video was very well done. The key is in pointing out that the air cleaner intake horn can be removed. This made what could have been a hassle into a ten minute fix. Good job describing the retaining clip as a spring that only needs to be pushed on to release and to re-fasten. Thanks.
