What a cracking video, thanks. I have celery here in Scotland ready to prick out and didn't realise there was so much to growing it i.e. blanching. Glad I watched this. Take care and have fun.
Thank you for this video my friend, just started growing native corn from Puerto Rico and it’s going well. Hopefully I’ll be able to multiply it some day.
I’ve been using the same soil in the same pots for 10+ years for tomatoes. I break up the soil and add a cup of 10-10-10 into the planting hole area. Then fertilize 1/2 strength miracle grow for tomatoes after a few weeks and continue fertilizer through summer. My tomatoes do very well, currently 4’-5’ tall. So yes you can reuse old potting soil.
This is great, as I live in a big city and most clips are for the backyard in suburbs/country side. Not for everyone. For me I am mostly interested in container gardening starting from seeds, so this was perfect! I just bought chive seeds so I will try this out. I am following your clips for growing parsley and coriander from seeds! They all sprouted and just about to transplant them into bigger containers. I got deeper windowsil planters so I am transplanting them and keep them in part shade (only morning sun). Hopefully they won't bolt too soon! Thanks for the videos, quite nice!
Sounds wonderful. I don't have a big garden either and mostly do container gardening. If done right, you will be amazed on the possibility of plants you can grow in pots. Wishing you a great harvest and thank you so much for your comment! 😊🌱
I’m confused. It says to refrigerate for 6-8 WEEKS but then it says on day 10, remove from refrigerator and plant into soil. So which is it days or weeks?
you refrigerate them for 6-8 weeks. After that, you take them out of refrigerator, and place them in the wet towel (in a room temperature, not in refrigerator) . 10 days later, plant sprouted seed in the soil. Hope this helps. Thanks.
Hey, could your containers be a little bit bigger than 10 gallons? Yours look a bit bigger that the ones that I have that are 10 gallons? (Maybe mine are just narrower and make up in height)
The grow bags I used are from amazon and all 10 gallon ones are pretty much same size- 16" (40cm) wide: amzn.to/3zcZ7yz . The wider the better, so not sure what size is yours. but if they are 10 gallon I think you should be ok. Happy growing and thank you for your comment!
I haven't grown cocoa pods and I don't think I can do it in my location, but for sure I will be posting videos on different plants. Thank you for your comment!
Hi. If you mean the seed starting mix, I use coco coir + perlite, check my video here on how to make it ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cJZcGDAro6w.html . If you asking about the potting soil, check video @ 5:09 and 5:15 for the mixture. In cold winters, start seeds in May-June, and for mild winters in April-July. Thank you for visiting.
You got it right, a paper bag or letter type envelope is perfect. Keep them in a dry and cool place (room temperature). Thank you for getting in touch!
Cilantro needs plenty of water when grown in pots and in dry weather. Keep the soil moist but not soggy. Water early in the morning and don't let soil dry out. I usually water them daily. Hope this helps and thank you.
@@uhhhnatalise the key is to keep soil wet. Where I live, I had to water daily. Maybe in your area is cooler and needs less watering. As long as soil is not dried out, it is ok. Thanks.
I prefer to start in seed tray and prick out the healthiest seedlings. But you definitely can start directly in plugs too. You can check my other video on peppers where I started in plugs here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-I2C3rIdh_BE.htmlsi=kYOr6jhJSaB6pGNS . Thank you for visiting!
Wow it is the same thing! I found this odd looking plant growing on my backyard. Got curious because I never seen a leaf like that. Obviously I plucked it to observe it closer and the scent is soothing.. I know It's probably a special type of plant. It grow right on the edge of wall and ground met. Oh, my backyard that is fully tiled dunno how it got there and It "thriving" at the earliest stage currently on the crac k... Got some tech to help me to identfy the plant. And This plant did not cease to surprise me when I discover it is a vegetable and that could become bulbous on the bottom area. Mine does not reach that stage yet. I'll just transferred it to a proper pot now. Finger crossed
This is something worth doing...most of the potting soil I have come across recently is mostly wood chips, and thats from well known companies... same with mulch, all lumber wood from saw mills! Cheap and nasty stuff. They say its organic, will break down. Yea in a few years maybe.
For the bagged mulch, you are completely right. On the potting soil, although they will have wood chips, most of the materials should be composted and broken down. If not, then as you say it is not worth using them. Thank you for your comment!
That is a frame of an old foldable bench I am reusing. Not sure if they are sold them separately. you can also use metal wire shelf if you want. Thanks.

Yes, we get to 90-100F here in California too and they do fine. Just protect them with a shade cloth from hot midday sun, or plant in a place with afternoon shade. Happy growing and thank you for visiting.
Fruits can be harvested few times in the same growing season (for 2-3 weeks) until it gets too cold. And since peppers are perennials, meaning they will grow next year, you can overwinter them for a fresh harvest. Thank you for visiting.
The idea is to reuse the soil quickly. Not everyone has compost pile and it will take months for the compost to be ready. So, not that simple. thanks for leaving a comment.
Glad you enjoyed it. The pest control depends on the pest type. I have learned that the best is to monitor your plants and act with the first sign of pest presence. If you know for sure that bugs will show up in your garden, preventing is also critical. Spray your plants with neem oil mix amzn.to/4aErvHB or spinosad mix amzn.to/49KbWgh (both organic) weekly. You can also have other plants like flowers in your garden so bug will attack those instead of vegetables. Hope this helps and thank you so much for you r comment!
