This is the official account for the Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh and our centers practicing in the Plum Village Tradition.
Plum Village, in southwest France, is the first monastic community founded by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh (Thay) in the West. Plum Village is where Thay has realized his dream of building a Beloved Community: creating a healthy, nourishing environment where people can learn the art of living in harmony with one another and with the Earth.
At all our centers we weave mindfulness into all our daily activities, training ourselves to be mindful throughout the day: while eating, walking, working, or enjoying a cup of tea together. We enjoy periods of silence, sitting meditation, rest, relaxation, mindful work and play. On this RU-vid channel we are sharing Dharma talks, guided meditations, songs and chants from the Plum Village Tradition.
I am so grateful to have this song available on RU-vid. I would become mindful when I listen to it almost everyday. It helps me to touch my heart, feelings and embrace my sadness. I feel myself surrounded the Sangha. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️
I wonder if tge question is about physical pain. I find it hard to escape this kind of pain because the body doesn’t stop feeding terrible pain to the brain. I believe you aren’t addressing this kind of pain.
How do I stay in the present moment when it feels unbearable? ~~~ Sounds like someone is trying to attach to the unattachable. I thought this guy is Buddhist? Every Now is unique. Don't try to attach, just watch it go by. Accept with Gratitude! The Reality is that you have no option but to perceive/exist in the present moment, now and now and now and now and... No other moment exists but the present moment, always! "The Laws of Nature are not rules controlling the metamorphosis of what is, into what will be (ie; Karma). They are descriptions of patterns that exist, all at once... " - Genius; the Life and Science of Richard Feynman All 'eternity' at once; Here! Now!!
A very beautiful teaching from which I have learned many things. Kindness and humility, these are very powerful, and a gift both to others and to ourselves, to help us to see and create happiness in the world, in the present moment. You have helped me to see one of the key ways in which I have brought suffering upon myself, something I shall from this moment forth apply my practice to. Thank you.🙏
Sister Chan Duc has an interesting inflection and cadence to her voice, just like Sister True Dedication - both originally from the UK, if I'm not mistaken. Funny, I've lived in the UK all my life and I can't place that accent. They sound almost similar to how some of the Vietnamese monastics sound when they speak English. The same little umms and pauses too. Isn't that strange? Feels uncomfortable, the more I think about it
"We don't worship the Buddha, we remember him." Good answer! "Work out your own salvation with diligence." The Buddha's wise last words to be remembered.
