Thank you for having uploaded this tribute to Angela Bofill. I, together with Gwen Guthrie, composed "This Time I'll be Sweeter" and was quite honored to have Angela record "Sweeter." Nearly 50 years later, Angela is still idolized in Asia for having made the song one of the Philippines' greatest love songs of all time. My friend (and famous Philippine actress) Teresa Loyzaga sent me a WhatsApp message to ask if Angela had died. I was so sorry to tell Teresa that Angela had passed away. There are several videos of Angela in Manila saying "Maraming Salamat Po" ('thank you very much' in a highly respectful way). Now I do believe I can speak for all Pinoys, as well as for the rest of us, when I address the spirit of Angela with, "For your music, your life, and your blessings upon us through song and character, dearly departed Angela, we collectively say 'Maraming Salamat Po.'"
@@garyb7893 Thanks for your comment. I feel lucky to still be here amongst the living! I lived with Gwen for years and enjoyed writing music with her. We parted ways, but the memory remained. Then came Fleming Williams (singer on Hues Corporation's "Rock the Boat"), followed by Marion Ramsey (Police Academy, "Freeze, Dirt Bag"), who was actually a great singer and composer, and who also recently died. But I - AND YOU, Gary B. - thankfully remain here. There are not many people in life with whom you can see eye-to-eye on music, so I consider myself extremely lucky. Let's enjoy each moment we are fortunate enough to see and feel. Thank you.
Thank you haras for sharing your background within music writing and your connection with GWEN and more. I am sure you experienced many hi and low points over the years like many of us,thankfully still hear to share the experiences.thankyou for using your creative writing skills and contributing to the magic of music over the years.
I saw her once when she did a concert here in the Philippines in 2000 called Reminiscing 2. I love all her songs and Tonight I Gave In was one of my favorites of that era. R.I.P. Ms. Angela Bofill. Your beautiful songs will live on.
Great performane. Love Gerald Bradley here and and as solo artist. I'm glad Nick got a lot more noteriety. I been following him since 90s. He did a lot of local shows in Chicago area clubs. Definitely will be missed.
i am definitely "feeling" this song he is incredible I would have absolutely loved to seeing him and concert and I know who just who I would’ve took with me. That would’ve been wonderful. I would’ve loved it if it had been just the two of us.☺️❤️🌹
