Get all your sex pistols 45s and all those rare Clash pressings and bin them - they are worthless when compared to the songs. Kleenex is the business 😁
Back in the day, (ca 1986) I made a comment to some friends of mine while listening to this song and said that the looped sound in the intro sounds like a sped up sample of a guy saying, "I'll do it." Most of my friends thought I was nuts but one of my friends totally bought it. Yeah well, thanks to technology we can now listen to it at 25% speed play back and it's CLEARLY just some odd sound, no voices at all. I had a feeling I was totally full of crap on that one, LOLOLOLOLOL.
I learned of older Human League music when I was in High School in the late 1980's, and this haunting song I played over and over again. It's still weirdly amazing!
Travelogue and Reproduction are two of the most significant albums in music history. They should be a part of all school's cirriculum. Educate the Millenials

So similar to the other great Scottish guitarist, Stuart Adamson. His work in the Skids is so similar to what McGeoch is doing here. McGeoch actually filled in for student on a John Peel session for the Skids, the track "Circus Games." One of the few who could nail Stuart's parts.
Perhaps U2 had this song in mind on I Will Follow. But Perhaps Howard had Public Image in mind. All 3 tracks are great. Both M Hannet and S Lillywhite had such studio wizardry
I saw this band at Canterbury college in 1978/79 they were support for spizz oil and had Palmolive on drums , I remember thinking the little blond bass player was a hottie ,I was 14 !!
