Hello @bimmer Belgium my 114i is on 130km and I wanna get it stage 1 the timing chain snapped so had the engine repaired should I get it repaired or will the clutch go?
Sounds like the B58 is not as reliable as people are saying it is. A reliable engine is considered an engine with no issues besides maintenance for at least 150k miles.
Those things don't happen to all B58's but they could happen. A lot of B58's are also tuned, which could have influence on the fail rate on some parts. Mine has been flawless except the coolant cap.
For the exhaust, I can recommand you a steel exhaust, it makes more noises than other types of exhausts because of the steel, but the pop and bangs is a bad idea for a car like that because it creates premature wear to the mechanical parts of the car, it just destroy the parts because of the bangs in the mechanic. If you donwt want to have problems and have to buy new pieces I don't recommand you to do it

Hello, i hope you see this comment I got an F20 LCI 2016 with halogen headlights, i want to make them xenon but even with modules all the mechanics are saying it's not possible the retrofit if you don't experiment with the wiring, how did you get it done? Just plug & code and play or you need to do wiring stuff? Thank you.
This is not a oem xenon headlight. These headlights are still halogen but are build to look like the xenon. So that's why they are plug and play and much much cheaper. There is also a kit available for the lci. It's just plug and play aswell.
@alphamotivationmale oh yeah right, for the lci they don't make the oem look lights. Idk why, it's stupid that they don't. Or you'll have to rebuild to a pre lci front🥲

I was completely unaware of the injector issue in the gen1. Glad I found this video. I was initially looking for cooling solutions because the b58 gets really hot after spirited driving, so much so, that the heat from the engine warms up the cabin. For sure going to replace them just for peace of mind next time I replace the plugs, may as well replace the valve cover while it's halfway apart as well.
@@bimmerbelgium2254 The crazy thing is it didn't overheat. My temps were sitting around 180 or 185 and the inside cabin felt like I had the heat on with all the windows open. It was really hot that day like 40deg Celsius but, this happened at like 0:00-3:00 when the ambient temp was close to 89deg Fahrenheit.
How reliable is the stage 2? I have had all your problems in mine, all solved. Always stage 1 and I beat the fuck out of my car. But only the problems u said nothing scary. Is stage 2 reliable? For someone that goes constantly at 5k rpm 6k?
