There are many trigger warnings, most notably swearing, racism, drug addiction, and genocide🥰 Still, it's a great book that handles these harsher topics well, and since I'm not used to reading/watching Asian/Asia inspired pieces of media, to me it was a breath of fresh air.
LOL I used to never read multiple books at once! But being in university and having to read multiple novels for class at the same time has definitely helped me learn how to compartmentalize, making it easier to read 2-3 books at the same time :)
Very nice spot. I used to live on Lafayette street and would walk there. A bit pricey but the staff is kind and the food slaps, deff recommend the peanut spring rolls and chicken katsu ❤
Oh that's so cool! Yes, the staff was so nice when I went and my favorite was definitely the katsu. I'll have to try the peanut spring rolls next time, thanks for the suggestion!
The orientation week is mandatory for all students at Columbia but if you have a valid reason for needing to miss it, I'm sure you can contact the school to see if you can skip it
I am an incoming freshman at Harvard, 19 years old from India. I read A Thousand Splendid Suns, a couple years ago and it shook me to my core. I have been researching the conditions of Afghan women for the past 5 years and when I came across this book.....It is a fiction novel that is closest to my heart, to say the least.
