my goodness what an scary ordeal for you to go through no one wants a complication but it can happen I just had my band removed yesterday its been in there for 29 years or so my band was loosened around 15 years ago from issues arising I had lots of adhesions and scar tissue Im not sure they do the sleeve if you have these problems I will find out in 5 weeks time

That's horrible, I'm 60 and I've had mine for 10 years and 2 months ago its failed so I would like it repaired and not removed, my journey has been a breeze and want to get back to mountain biking.

I got my band removed 5 days ago. They just gave me a non steroidal pain med, ketoleral, I think it's called. Came home the same day...ate regularly from day 1. My stomach is sore but my experience is so far different from yours. I hope you're recovering well. Home for 1 week only.

@bridgetelliott how are you doing now? Most these comments were so old. Wondering how you are feeling without it and why you removed it? I have one that has never worked for me and I feel like it should be removed. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

you have your band removed, how are you feeling? Did you get a sleeve? I told my doctor if I have another surgery I am not going to get any sleeve I'm not having any complications... But they're calling me telling me I'm a candidate for surgery... I'm not going to be experimented on.... I'm trying to find an honest physician to find out why bariatric surgeons are trying to push patients who get the sleeve if the band is working fine regardless of how long you had it in? I think eventually years down the line they're going to be saying something about the sleeve has to be readjusted or something crazy. ... just all so frightening.... I don't think it's any device that works with weight loss.... is just the person's brain and the need to accomplish.

Hey, How are you doing now? I could t watch your full video because I freaked out a little when you began talking about scar tissue n thing. I had my surgery back in 2011. A few months back I got all of the liquid removed from my band. Currently, I’m having some reflux and stomach pain.

Hi guys! So happy to see y’all! You both look amazing! Glad to see you’re both doing well. Covid has not been kind to me. Lost my job and my grandma because of this pandemic. Needless to say my fitness and weight is just out of control. Hoping to get back on track once life is back to normal.

Good to see you guys again and to see you are both doing well. I had lapband in 2011. I had it removed in Dec of 2015 due to major acid reflux. I revised to the gastric bypass in March 2016. I’m just under 5 ft tall. My highest weight was 231.8. My lowest with lapband was 112, for about a minute. My lowest with bypass was 119. I’m 139 now, so I’m up 20 lbs, and working on losing the regain before it becomes unmanageable. Wishing you both continued success!

You are both doing great! I think you are in track Jen. I started at 201 and week 15 I was 173.3. It’s also a slower loss when you start at a lower bmi.

So glad to see you guys! I found you guys years ago when I was researching lapband surgery, which I had done in 2014. I lost 50lbs and have gained 30lbs back😔 and feeling discouraged for sure. I still have my band with no doctor to help me manage it because True Results went out of business. I’m glad you guys are still sharing your journey with us because it is awesome to see you guys succeed👍.

You might want to hold off on ground beef. It can be harder to digest. Try fish, ground turkey and stuff like that. Tuna Creations (and the like) are good sources of protein, relatively inexpensive and good for you. You are doing great.

If ground beef doesn't work, try ground turkey. Taco seasoning is great too

Thanks for your story. I am 2012 I had dilated and horrible reflux, totally deflated, but I declined removal in 2016, wrong choice, now I am stuck. Yes, the truth about the lapband is out, not many people longterm more than 5 years remain thin.

Hey guys! So good to see you both! Miss you guys! Brad feel better soon buddy! I feel I’m in the same boat with my band. Gained all I lost back and so many issues I feel like such a failure. But I’m gonna tough it out this year and next year work on what I can do to fix it!!

hi! looks like you are doing really well! and you are certainly fit, working out as much as you do. muscle gain is really hard! the keys are 1)consistency 2)progression in weights 3) eating enough, esp proteins. so ya, keeping all these going at the same time is not easy! I've been failing hard at the progression part for a while now and not gaining muscle ... and eating too much sugar and not enough protein - so gaining body fat. not a ton, but I notice it even if the scale is in same range. and this is with working out, lifting weights 90 mins at least 6 days a week and biking around town when the weather is good. Its ok. normal I think! News here is that I've stopped tracking food after 2333 days. seeing how that goes!

Oh, wow. I didn't know about the risk of band slippage. Yeah, gastric sleeve sounds like a much more secure solution.

This is why mindset is so important. I learned more about loosing weight and nutrition on this program than any surgery I ever had. So sorry that happened in the sleeve operation. I do hope things get better in your health. ❤️❤️❤️

I had mine removed 4 days ago. Feeling full all the time and abdominal pain and swelling ... I found a program that helped me maintain a healthy lifestyle so I’m not having any other surgery. I’m just concerned about the port area bc off the scaring it will leave from burning scar tissue off. It’s terrible looking and my upper back being sore as well as stomach. It could be just the healing process but it’s certainly not a vacay by no means. I can’t eat a lot in one sitting without feeling full. I feel worse after the removal than I did with it in. But again this could be just the healing process.

That is so sucky that a dr. would be that irresponsible. Have you thought of sueing? I'm not sure I would but she certainly needs to feel some kind of repercussions for irresponsible surgery. Sorry you got so sick. I tend to get bronchitis I lot so I can truly sympathize.

Jenn you're right about confronting your surgent and wanting answers I mean you definitely right about that and you're right about buying brand new clothes when you lose weight it will make you feel better and you definitely look a lot better I mean give yourself a break you have lost a lot of weight and total

This is just me but i think id sue the surgeon who did it wrong and get a second opinion about revising to a working tool. Probably have to wait a little bit tho to gelp another surgery not be as risky. I'd be livid. I'm so sorry you're dealing woth this sweetie. Your videos are definitely impirtant. Its not just about weight loss, its about the whole experience and how dofferent it is for each of us. Your experience can help many people. So dont go away. Share what you do to try to work with your poor tool as you fogure out ur next step.

I'm so sorry this happened to you, I know it's not what you wanted to hear but at least you know the truth. Look into a malpractice lawsuit. You shouldn't have been lied to and had to go to 3 different doctors to get a answer. I hope you are able to find something that works for you..

Well I'm devastated. I can only imagine how you are feeling! I also feel more than a little guilty being so gung-ho about weightlifting to lose weight. And then again for the sleeve recommendation/enthusiasm. Argggh! I know you did your own research and made your own decisions ... But if it makes you feel better, blame me! Maybe put up a picture of me in your next kickboxing class! Lesson learned here, I know these things would be a little less significant for a lady, but no idea just how much! ♥️🤪😣

Try to relax. The sleeve is far more subtle than the lap band, and requires more from you. My sleeve is long, my stomach was long, I guess...so I can eat more than some. I maintain my weight, but I never did hit my goal. I'm considered a success because I did lose more than 60% of my excess weight. But I'm still not under 200 pounds and it's been five years. Learning the hard way that eating small amounts of fattening foods does not help me lose weight. I use my sleeve as a tool for portion control, but I don't always make wise food choices. It sounds like you're trying very hard; I hope you can resolve this soon. I think once we are addicted to food emotionally, it's almost impossible to be indifferent about it.
