It's funny how much they talk about the importance of evidence when Christianity has none to support it. This conversation is about nothing more than "How to indoctrinate your children."
Rubbish. You have not a clue as to what "evidence" means. There is no evidence whatsoever that anyone ever rose from the dead, including Jesus. An empty tomb is not evidence, nor is hearsay from supposed witnesses. It's really disgusting that you continue to try to indoctrinate young people into accepting that the biblical myths are demonstrably true. They're not.
The claim that Jesus (or anyone else) said something is not the same as claiming that what he said is actually true. And since such claims about what anyone may have said thousands of years ago cannot actually be demonstrated to be true (and no, the bible is not proof of anything), those claims are nothing more than hearsay. Accepting any religion's truth claims is subjective, which contradicts what this poor guy is trying to say about Christianity, but who fails miserably at instead.
Is this curriculum available to parents as a resource even though not in an awana group? Or do you have a resource list for parents to help equip to answer the questions shared in the Evidence demands a verdict book? I'm looking for a more manageable way to engage my 17 year old daughter in conversations about Christianity. Thanks in advance for any guidance.
Pastor, Can the love of Jesus Christ, His purpose for you, be taught just by preaching alone without practice? How can a church which doesn't live as one of the branches standing on a single Vine, the single body of Christ bear good fruits if you read John 15 4?.
@@vilicus77 We all come here for different things, but it seems with the history of social media, not one of them has ever been civil discussion about anything. What do you know? Are we now discussing with civility?
@@caseyjpayne7606 I often have quite calm and civil discussions with people in RU-vid comment sections. I find that this is the least likely place it happens--but it does. That's why I preface my posts the way I do. You for instance, seem nice. Maybe we need more people trying to change online culture for the better. I just want my own interactions to be more positive. I think debate is the most beneficial when ego and bias are removed.
Any Version? I understand what you are trying to do. It sounds good on the surface, but any version is not an Awana principle. How does the high school Bible quiz will work? Since Awana is out of the business of events it does not matter I guess. Does Awana care if students are memorizing from the Living translation or the message or NIV 2011???? Sometimes cost is not a reason.
Good point. BTW, I got to this video by accident. I was trying to follow the lead from the Witness Student Book, trying to find the weekly videos. All I found was the intro video. Where am I going wrong, please?
Shoutout from the youth minister of Saint Benedict Parish, the Divine Renovation church of Fr. James Mallon in Atlantic Canada, thanks for posting this, great panel!
extremely insightful. thanks, definitely opened my eyes to a few ways that I can implement a large part of their daily lives in a constructive way for the group meetings
Really, really need to hear this today-2 weeks to go, and wondering what can I include to send them off strong for the summer. Thanks so much, Chris! trek , Finger Lakes NY
