My fiancé proposed to me this February in Ireland standing out on a headland into the Atlantic and something about the soft parts of this song just capture how it felt
i'm convinced hozier is a 2000 year old mystical being whom has disguised himself as a human, in order to spread his magical tales and poems in the form of song.
whenever i think too much of the songs and the imagery behind the lyricism, there's always a lump in my throat. I hate that I can't express love in such a devoted and open way, being a wlw in a conservative country really pushes me in a corner where I can only daydream.
Awesome that you did this!t I was learning the song on guitar to play and realized I didn't wanna sing the chorus, as it didn't really suit gentle acuistic setting..i was wondering how it would sound without the chorus. and hey! here it is! Thanks!
omg ive been thinking i'd like to hear what it might sound like with only the soft parts (even though i love the chorus) and this is exactly what i was looking for and the editing is so seamless it's amazing
A barely drizzling summer rain, the beginning of June, a warm atmosphere, I'm writing a speech for the defense of my thesis project at night, and in the morning I have to perform in front of people. I turned on this song. I couldn't memorize the speech that I wrote and I was worried, but as soon as the first sounds of music sounded, I felt so calm, as if I didn't have to prepare for the most important final stage of my studies... In fact, I was absolutely not nervous, although it usually happens the other way around - I passed perfectly, the song sounded in my head the whole next day. God, we have the phenomenon of "white nights", when the sun sets after midnight and rises after two-three hours - "Would that I" played with the first rays of dawn. I love it so much, it's so warm and comfortable. I love the dynamic chorus, but the softness of the verses is like being kissed and embraced by the rays of the sun. My forever the most favorite Hozier's song.
omg omg omg thank you so much for this I’ve been wanting to edit this song for a long time but I have absolutely no clue how to use audio software and the transitions are amazing!
IF THIS WERE AN OFFICIAL RELEASE IT WOULD BE MY FAVORITE HOZIER SONG Like i love the entire song, i think the powerful loud moments create a very distinct feeling, but im sooo in love with this softer peaceful version. Wasteland, Baby! is my favorite song on the album because of how peaceful it is throughout. This one sounds like a soothing lullaby too, thank you so much ❤Also you did such a good job editing this, if i didnt memorize this i wouldnt be able to tell where the cuts are.
