Dimensions vary on what you are wanting. Same process can be used to make a 2, 3, 4, or 5 frame. Height is variable as well. If you want a medium or deep, make it the same height as the box size you use. The internal box length is the same as all standard boxes you already use. The width varies to what number of frames you want as well as if you want to add an internal feeder. The wood thickness is up to you as long as you use the correct internal dimensions and adjust accordingly.
@@TheBeardedBee I understand..but you have to think about all the new beekeepers that can't even understand how to cut a frame rest. If you tell them what you're building at least they can copy is what I meant, although my comment was short it wasn't meant to be hateful, although looking at it, it seems that way l ol 😉
@@badassbees3680 no worries, I gotcha. I don't like giving exact dimensions to people as I figure if someone is competent enough to use woodworking tools they should be able to do the math and figure it out. If not, they probably shouldn't be using saws and such just yet. Same reason I don't show video of me actually doing the cuts. I don't want to get anyone hurt because I made it look simple or don't use all the safety features a beginner really should be using. I just don't want to get anyone injured beyond repair with my videos. Using a staple gun... staple through the finger sucks, but not like cutting a finger off when wood kicks back, etc. Have a good one!
Nice Dinky Mini Hive / Nuc. 👍 Tip : Remember that Mini Nuc Frames might be mounted inside a Regular Hive Frame at end of Mating needs. Some Folk use a "Dinky" DIY Frame to Seed / Start a Split. Use the Capped Brood, Nurse Bees, a Queen Cell or Virgin Queen. Easier to pre-plan your "Mini Frame Sizes" to work with eg standard Langstroth, National, and or Warre Hive Equipment etc. Plan twice and Cut once ! This is a process video for the overall concept. You have to do some basic math due to how many frames you want, what size frames you run, are you also making nuc supers to overwinter, etc. Those who can't figure that out, or are too lazy to do so, don't need to be using saws and pneumatic tools in the first place.
I would have removed any remaining web and put those damaged frames on my biggest banging hives about a week before the nectar flow and they'd be cleaned and repaired by the bees.

It is sad for me to see that you are wasting your time, gas, filter paper, utensils, clean up and wasting wax. This wasted time can be spent on more attention to your bees. If you are interested in contacting me I would be happy to tell or Show you a simple design of the article that will purify your wax with one only piece of equipment that you can make up yourself with little expense . What I an talking about is the only thing you will ever need . No cutting up comb. whole frames with comb can be used. It will take all impurities out and deliver you pure wax with one operation without you even being there. make a few of these and they will accommodate all the wax you can add with no expense. Just think what it will save you, no mess, no cutting up wax ,one only operation to clean wax, the only waste is what's not wax, the best of it all is you not being there to produce pure wax?

That simple. Since a typical stinger connects directly into a wall outlet - make sure you use a nice and heavy duty Variac (not a cheap one, but a nice one rated for that level of current). Make sure all of your connections are water proof and properly sealed - and give yourself ample room on wire length. With this simple invention you will Boil water faster than you have ever imagined. I PROMISE. Especially if you make a BIG stinger like I did :D Variacs can vary on size and complexity. There are some very nice ones out there that actually have a digital readout of the exact voltage coming in and going out. That is what I use. I also have a temp sensor on mine that leads down next to the stinger so not only do I know what the voltage in and out is - but I also know the water temp - all on 1 display :) You will WANT the variac because of WHAT you do (heating water to melt wax) - because the variac will allow you to control the temperature of the water. If you just use a normal stinger - it will bring it to a rolling boil and keep it at a full rolling boil - Bees wax you don't need a full rolling boil to melt - yeah its smart to boil first, but then its smarter to lower the temp afterwards so you're not using as much power and the water isn't as hot/dangerous to work around. LAST IMPORTANT NOTICE: Always make sure the stinger is FULLY SUBMERGED IN WATER before you introduce power on it. NEVER turn it on in OPEN AIR!!! :) *extra key tip* If you add salt to the water - it will boil EVEN FASTER because of how the stinger works***
Using a STINGER to boil water is SO much cheaper AND WAY WAY quicker than using propane. I have a HUGE custom built stinger - and I can boil 4 gallons of water from room temp to full on boil in less than 1 minute!!! THAT is how efficient stingers are. I also have my stinger setup going through a VARIAC which allows me to control the TEMP of the water!! ALL CUSTOM BUILT - and it is VERY easy to make - YOU should make a stinger for yourself!!! (it is so easy to make, people in PRISON make them to boil their cup o noodles. In fact THAT is how I LEARNED on how to make a stinger - from guys from prison!!!) Except they don't know about the variac addon which makes them even better :)
