Hello! I'm Michele. I am a lover of all the crafts and have just discovered Cross Stitch along with Diamond Painting. Follow along as I start my journey into both cross stitch and diamond painting! You'll find tutorials, tips and tricks, recommendations, reviews (both good and bad) and works in progress videos.
So grab a cup of coffee and visit a while as we take a journey through my Creative Mayhem.
Just tripped across your channel😂 I also live in northern Ohio and Findlay is about 1 1/2 hrs away~ going to have to do an afternoon to check out the store! Thanks for sharing!!
Starting out on Aida or a lower fabric count is not the wrong way. Most of us who have been stitching for years did the same thing. The important thing is not the count of the fabric that you use, but just the fact that you got started in this cross stitching adventure and that it obviously brought you satisfaction and enjoyment.
Awww Lisa.... That's a shame. I would contact where you purchased it and let them know. I actually cut mine into smaller pieces and sharpen those as it is easier on my hand to use them when they are smaller. They still work that way and you can sharpen both ends. Might be something to try. Hope that helps!
Hi sorry to bother you I bought an easel an I hacked how I use it . If u buy a stainless steel splash back/notice board there quite thin an not to heavy i screwed/stook it to the easel now instead of messing about with huge clips I can stick magnets/cover minders to my painting with only 1 of the cover minder magnets an it holds the painting so well an u also have a use for the cover minders its changed how I tackle my paintings an don’t have to mess with big clips anymore it’s amazing so easy to attach a painting to the easel
I am breaking into Evenweave now and can't wait to try it. I think the monochromatic patterns look awesome and sooo crisp. Another rabbit hole for me!! 😂😂😂
@@CreativeMayhem I really like evenweave, i like linen too but I like the uniformity of evenweave, I feel like my stitches need all the help they can get. You’re right about the frogging on linen/evenweave though I’m almost always having to frog something out so I don’t skip around as much with those fabrics.
I just found your flosstube Chanel todayI love it. I am new to cross stitch also. My two favorite flosstubers are Country Stitchers and The Proper Stitcher. I love all your cross stitch items . Hopefully one timeI can try stitching on Linen. Right now I am only stitching on 14 count Aida cloth. Snow village is beautiful .
Aww that is so sweet of you! Thank you so very much for watching. 14 count Aida is great. I love working with Evenweave as well. Trying new things is part of the fun. YOU CAN DO IT! I am cheerleading you on!!
Hi I was lucky enough years ago that my grandma had found this type of easel at a garage sale. She had bought it for me when I did acrylic painting/watercolor. Friday I started using it for diamond painting!!
Oh sister! What have you done?! 🤣🤣 Bobbinate with a modified manual winder and a drill. Then get an IKEA Helmer drawer unit with some foam core dividers. I can send you the measurements to cut the foam core. 😘
I have been a very very bad girl is what I have done!!!!!!!! 😂 Fantastic idea with the foam core dividers. I am adding that to my list of potentials. You really want me around floss AND a drill? Ever see the movie Edward Scissorhands???!!!! 😂😂
Ok. Get plastic bobbins, a floss organizer, pair of scissors and scotch tape. Cut the numbers off the labels and tape them on the bobbin. Then bobbinate lol. Do one at a time or you won't know what color you are working with lol.
Woohoo, you’re back!! Welcome home Michele and Happy New Year!! What a way to start 2022. I have missed you lovely. I hope you have been well and, no doubt, busy with your family and stitching. Hopefully your internet problems will improve eventually. I am looking forward to following your progress with WIPGO (which, by the way, is the prettiest I have seen) and your projects and can’t wait for your next video. In the meantime, take care and stay safe and well. Love from Di from Down Under 😘💕🥳🍾🎉🎊🪡🧵🇦🇺
Yay!!! So happy to see you in my comments! How are you doing? So far so good on the WIPgo. I have been making progress and working on an update now. Thanks so much for watching! ❤❤
@@CreativeMayhem Lovely to hear from you. I’m doing ok, thank you for asking, Michele. Hard to believe we are in a new year - 2021 went so fast. Not getting much stitching done at the moment as it is hot here and I don’t like the heat, but I have a few projects that I want to do so will have to pick up a needle soon and get going again. I am looking forward to following you instead. See you in the next video, honey. 😘💕🇦🇺

So nice to see you in the comments Martine! We need to get through this stash don't we? I have been doing a bit of kitting up in anticipation of some new starts too. Yes busy times with lots of adjustments but all is going well. Hope you are yours are having a wonderful holiday season. Thanks so much for watching! ❤❤
I am really enjoying your channel. I am also a new counted cross stitch. I used to do it years ago but everything was so different then it was years ago. I know French knots can be very difficult for people to do. A great substitution is to use the Mill Hill beads and they are the perfect size. I think you will be pleased with the outcome!
That is an excellent idea to use Mill Hill beads! They would be the perfect size. I have seen some really cute ornament kits. I may have to pick a few up. So glad you are enjoying the channel and thank you for taking the time to comment. ❤
Band camp-so fun! Our middle son (Freshman in HS this year) is a percussionist and loves it so much! I absolutely love your little town-so so cute! Looks like it all came from the same pattern! 🤩
Love listening to the band! My daughter fractured her toe the first day of band camp so no marxhing for her this year. 😒 May need to run to the high school to get my fix! Percussion is so fun!! 💃💃
I am in the “soaking up stage” and plan to start my very first cross-stitch (Halloween themed) on 32ct linen-just waiting on my fabric to arrive, but picked up everything else I need from local craft stores. So excited to get started!
That is so great Maggie!! I can't wait to see it. Good for you for jumping right in. The "soaking up stage" is the perfect way of explaining the rabbit hole!! ha! If you are on Instagram, find me on there so I can see your progress! Woohoo!!
