I think you have got it wrong, it was the Greek colonels who wanted to take over Cyprus and brought in troops to eject the turkish people, the Turks brought over soldiers to defend the Turkish population. You should remember that the Greek terrorists were killing British soldiers also, I think the Greek terrorists were called EOKA.
