To me, he is not only a villain but also a legend, a hero. But more than that in my opinion he is an insecure child who fears betrayal. A proud child who stood tall despite being abandoned by his parents and everyone. A person who makes me want to turn my back to the world for him. He was taught from a young age in order to survive to be the strongest, to stand tall, to fight for what he wants in life. He was abandoned at a young age and was forced to mature at a young age. So it is inevitable that he might be too cold hearted. To me, he is like a child who built an invincible defense wall and surrounded by this fortress is his fragile self that tempts me to protect him, to discover what more surprises he will give to me if he was cared for and loved well. He is the most sober person in the story, knows the pros and cons of the world. But he chooses to let the FL into his castle. He wanted her to be with him. To have someone accompany him. At first, he might have wanted her to join his side because of her superpower but later he eventually started to like her. Ig he might have been suspicious about her real identity but that's what made him more curious about her. "Can I trust you?" "Yes you can, Si-o" But eventually he gets to know that she is the daughter of his enemy and he chooses to keep his word, "to kill her cuz she betrayed him" but for me, I felt that it was his act of wanting to cause trouble but actually not harm her, like a child making a tantrum out of heartache. He had the chance to strangle her to death. He wanted to vent his anger, his pain. He lost the game because of her. Indeed he is a light that can be fake or real but if he tries harder, he can be real. His death made my heart break, such a sweet person was forced to die like that. He just wanted to stand at the top of the food chain, to be stronger and more glorious so that no one would harm him and his group. He is my Male Lead. I didn't watch the drama but only watched his parts. So I am sorry if there are any mistakes(but I am sure I ain't lol). Anyways drop a comment if there are any mistakes in my comment!
I have a feeling they will surprise us . He wont die and they will be together. I mean they have the poisonous bugs . How can he die . She could of choose anyone even jing . But she choos YL . Great choice because hes her soul mate not jing . Jing would give her a boring life.
Screenplay writer puts his philosophy into the mouth of his characters, apparently definition of "strong person" is someone who is not afraid of anything. And I say - Nonsense! Everyone is afraid of losing their health. Maybe they are not afraid of dying but no one will remain strong if they lost their health and were living suffering in pain...To me, "strong person" is someone who has Strong Will to say "NO!" when most people say yes. Someone who is not tempted easily, someone who learned to think in a different way...
The "Great Philosopher" was talking about Light? lol Sounds like mistranslation, "you are a light that's not sure if it's real or fake". Nonsense. In their language term Light is positive so if it was fake she wouldn't call it a light, but rather darkness. Unless she was quoting the bible where there is a phrase about darkness that is confused for light. Sort of like people who seem nice and respectful but are full of flattery, or those do charity work not out of compassion but selfish reasons.
I'm actually about to lose my mind. This is so beautiful, you've got so many wonderful clips from the show and the show audio overlaid over different scenes (e.g. "There's no-one else I'd go to hell for" playing across lots of clips) AND the song choice is making me tear up. Nobody does it like them! I'm just so in love with these two.
