Hi, I you are referring to the decat pipe, i have it a proper black heat paint and then “cooked it”, it holds ok. The protection covers most of it also. This is a project bike. I have installed a stage 2 filter, fuel x lite, and the decay for now. I will change the camshaft sometime soon along with a 16t sprocket. If possible I will make a video. I love this bike, I hope you enjoy yours. Cheers!
@@_sv1 Thank you for replying. I plan to add the DNA kit and Fuel X-lite as well. I'm tempted to add Hitchcoks free flow exhaust and leave unpainted. I saw a photo of the prior generation 350 in grey with the blacked out engine and it had a chrome/stainless exhaust, looks pretty good. Have you ever thought about running the free flow exhaust as well?
Hi, I bought if from Hitchcock motorcycles but it only comes in stainless steel. I sanded it and gave it a proper black heat paint and then “cooked it” as instructed. It’s been holding ok. The protection also kind of covers much of it.
Hi, if I just remove the cats, and install that pipe from Hitchcocks, do I have to do any modifications? Will the bike run better and cooler. BTW I own a 2023 RE 350 Classic. Thanks
Hi, congrats on your classic 350, great bike. No modification is needed. The exhaust will run freely so better and cooler in my opinion. I installed a stage 2 filter then Decat and later a fuel X Lite, and in all times I did it with a cool engine then after installing I started the bike and let it idle for 10... 12 minutes without throttling, then switched off and restarted and go. This helps the ECU to adapt to the new setup.
Hi, the air flows freely but I don't think the top speed has changed, however felt a bit more torque and no change in fuel consumption. After this I installed a fuel X lite and also dont think top speed has changed but it is definitely more smooth with engine and gear. Sound is clearer but not that loud, I recorded this inside the garage. To me it's a hobby and it's a keeper so it's always worth it but if you are trying to get a lot more from your bike for daily use probably best to get a bigger motorcycle. I bought these parts at Hitchcock's Motorcycles. Cheers!
The top speed is limited by the ECU. Nothing can really be done about that. The modified exhaust and the fitting of DNA air filter and cover help with performance. I fitted a DNA filter last weekend and I noticed a big difference in throttle response, torque, and engine sound. There's videos here on how to fit one. I'm shite mechanically speaking but I managed it fine. I haven't touched the exhaust though. My bike is pretty new and I don't want to void the warranty. I've done about 1800 miles since I bought my signals new at the end of April. After carefully running in, these bikes are just excellent! Nobody buys a 350 classic to go fast. The destination isn't going anywhere. It's all about how you get there. 😄😊👍
