I'm Catchy! ᵒʳ ᶜʰᵉʳᵎ I'm a Canadian who loves talking about video games.
And yes, my channel's old name was Catchy Virus, and yes it's aged like milk! Microsoft suggested this username to me in 2013 and for some reason, my teenage brain thought it was hilarious and it just stuck.
TLDR Covid didn't inspire it.

I could be wrong but I remember it being a lot easier to keep Sims on track in 2014. Now whenever I have a Sim leave the house they're immediately bombarded by conversations with random strangers they've never interacted with. Sometimes they'll walk across the entire zone to talk to someone I never told them to talk to. Every community lot is just unbridled mayhem, to the point where it's nearly impossible sometimes to do something as simple as order a drink at the bar because random strangers keep trying to inject themselves into my life and override my command to order a drink.
I don’t know if because I’ve only really played the sims 4 but I prefer it to the others and definitely don’t see a much difference. And things like loading screen don’t bother me that much. I do play sims 3 and feel like they have similar amount of things to do and stuff, I get quite overwhelmed in sims 3 tbh
It's so crazy to me to see how much Sims 4 has changed in 10 years. And at the same time it hurts how long it's been running with never truly feeling complete. With every dlc for the past installments they improved the features or added new ones. Sims 4 simply improves old features while doing the least amount of work. Like how many animations or meshes have been reused? At this time us players have funded that game more than EA itself
I just wish they added the option to completely disable the LGHDTV stuff. I'm straight and I don't need that stuff to be forcibly shoved to my face. It's my own gameplay to begin with. I don't mind it for those people who want it, it's their gameplay, their freedom. But it *should* be the same for those who don't want it. Why the F does this not possible? 🫠
firefighters are buggy as hell too. my sim would catch on fire and theyd just STAND OUTSIDE? and when my sim takes the fire out themselves theyd either say “my job here is done” or smth or “you look like you dont need help” or smth.. YOU DIDNT DO ANYTHING?
I had a criminal sim recently who needed to do mean interactions for her job and aspiration. One day I had her be a real jerk to Liberty Lee, who I then remembered lived in that same neighborhood of Willow Creek. So every time I needed to do mean interactions, I'd go over to Liberty's house. My sim would knock on the door and be allowed in *every single time.* Seriously? And it's not like her roommates liked my sim, either, since I would do mischief and mean interactions on them, too. No matter how much these sims purportedly hated my sim, they never, ever stopped opening the door for her to follow them through their house treating them like crap. She should have been kicked off their property, but no.
I’m genuinely convinced that if they made all the packs significantly cheaper they would make more money out of us. Inflation or not. If expansions were changed to 20 bucks they would make sooo much more money!!!
I feel like we still need two(2) more life stages. One between Child and Teenager (tween) and one between Adult and Elder (middle aged maybe? Idk). I know people have talked a lot about wanting a Tween life stage because it’s such a jarring change from Child to Teen, but I think going from an Adult that looks around 40 to an Elder that looks 80-90 years old is just as jarring 😅
They are for sure greedy, but the game in 2024 compared to the game in 2014 is a HUGE improvement. There is obviously still issues and things I want improved, and of course not everyone can get all the packs. (You can literally just pirate them all for like 20 bucks using various websites online btw) But if you have all of them, the game really is fun and addicting to me in the current version.
Sims 4 was a sims 1 remake. The creators did good in so many ways. But….. there’s a reason why we play sims 2 and 3 more than sims 1. Very out dated. Sims 1 was great before I saw what it could really be in the sims 2, and then 3. Going back to sims 1 with better graphics but less raunchiness wasn’t something most people wanted
In short, all Sims 4 has to do is bring back ALL the quirks and perks from Sims 2 but keep the CAS feature as it has more options and then it’s the perfect game. Idk man, Sims 2 seems more realistic (minus the animation and limited options) but Sims 4 now just seems, well, not realistic enough. 😂
