5 Things That SHOULD Be in Sims 4 in 2024 

Being able to invite full Households as long as you know at least one of them. And introducing sims to friends no matter their age. Shouldn't be just for infants

I agree with all of the things you mentioned. Trying to throw a party for your kid without being able to invite their friends is so silly. Smh 🤦🏻 😅

Funerals ! I still can't believe that we don't have funerals in the game .

Multi-purpose buildings! Different shops on one lot.

I would like extension packs to have more in them. We shouldn't need Parenthood if we have Growing Together, or mansion stuff/spooky stuff when we have vampires or realm of magic. Or my first pet stuff when we have cats and dogs. They also need to improve the fear system, it just doesn't make sense why my "self assured" sim would be scared of storms or why my high fitness skilled sim would be scared of swimming.

I agree with most. But something I think should be in base game is matching rabit hole jobs for every visible NPC job in game. Like librarian, mail carrier, fire fighter, and repair person. This means if you chat up a sim with those jobs, and add them to your household they don't have to switch careers. It's much better for story telling.

Ok. Layers in CAS. Like i find a good top and want to add a jacket on top. Or if i want to add two necklaces.

We need more CAS relationship options. I hate that you can't start two sims off with romance in CAS unless they're married or engaged. There should be a boyfriend/girlfriend option as well. Bc like, sometimes you want two sims to start off with a romantic relationship, but not so far as engaged or married. Yk? & other non romantic options as well, such as aunt, cousin, friend, best friend, etc. If they're not married, engaged, siblings, or child/parent, they can only be two aquaintences who happen to live together. 😑

It’s crazy how often the sims 4 team talks about how important and fleshed out the family systems are yet they only feel slightly better than they did at launch.

There's a lot of features I miss from previous games. I wanted memories back and now we have them in TS4 and they still feel empty compared to the depth of TS2. TS2 memories told an actual life story in order, and revealed aspects of that sim that were unique to them. Now memories feel like a list where we just need to tick each box. And also, pool tables! I was sure we would have them by now, many packs they would've fit in perfectly, but here we are. 2024, no pool tables. Perhaps we should just be thankful we have an actual pool 👀 ALSO! I feel you on more family relations, we need them assignable from CAS.

I want there to be allergies in the game. As someone who is allergic to cats and has a pollen allergy, it would be very helpful if they were included. I’d also like more disability related things like canes or wheelchairs. I mean, why do we have hearing aids and glucose monitors but no epipens or walking canes? Blind people and allergies exist too. Why are there no options for me to give my sight-impaired sim something to help her walk, or traits like dyslexia and ptsd.

I don't get why we can't close curtains or blinds like wtf are my vampire sims doing sitting in front of big windows completely unaffected?? And the fact that we can't copy certain accessories and makeup to all outfits is wild, I'd say it extends my CAS time by ten minutes alone because of how much I need to sift through

Categorizing skills and having them skill tree instead of exist in a bubble would be amazing. I also so miss being able to invite over your friend’s family members. In TS2 I would just have the adults from two households meet and then invite that person and their kid to dinner through the parent! Then the kids would meet that way. Which made sense. Now in TS4 I have to make sure my adult sim goes over their friend’s house and has a conversation with their toddler to ensure I can invite both to events through the parent.

I would like them to expand on the traits they already do have. I find it so annoying when I make a parent strict...they get a sad moodlet because they might be too strict. It's just hard to make a evil or mean sim. Even when I get 2 sims to despise each other, they end up smiling and having a pleasant conversation 2 seconds later.

Sadly this late in the games life, I do not see them improving any of this. They are gonna milk it dry and move onto the next. I have no trust in this company anymore. They've burned too much good will by constantly releasing broken packs and never fixing major things that have been broken for years. I will NOT be moving on to 5 when it eventually comes, which breaks my heart as a long time simmer.

i wish there would be more sports and the sports skills, have the ability to form music bands and throwing a party when a baby is born

I recently went through the surprisingly easy process of getting the sims 2 to play on my computer. Was having a nostalgia moment. And the sims 3 recently bugged out too leading to constant game crashes. Figured if I was fixing a game, why not go all the way back to the sims 2... the sims 3 still hasn't been fixed as I am having too much fun in the sims 2. I had forgotten just how much that game had! Like being able to build your own neighborhood! Put in as many lots as you could fit, and I am seriously considering finding a copy of sim city again because you could completely build your own world with it. The furniture though 😲, I had completely forgotten that all the way back in the sims 2 you could change the bedding and the frame colors, you didn't have to download a mod to do this. You could change the counter top and cabinet colors independently too, you didn't have to recolor everything to have the different combinations and add bulk to you furniture menu just because you wanted the dark cabinets with a butcherblock countertop. Plus UGLY sims, was a thing, and it didn't matter as the generations grew, unless you bred "pretty" into them they could grow more and more hideous. The sims 4 they don't. Make the ugliest sim you can imagine, and continue breeding ugly sims into the family and they're still going to end up looking like the same "barbie and ken" doll perfect, the game mechanics ensure this. They even bragged about it being a "feature" in the sims 4. The sims 3 we lost custom worlds to open neighborhoods. In some ways an equitable trade off. And we did gain an amazing CAS and the color wheel in building, a few other features were traded off from the sims 2, but it all was pretty equitable to what we recieved as upgrades to the game. That is what is most disappointing with the sims 4 to me. The equitable trades are completely gone. We not only can't create custom worlds but we also don't have open neighborhoods. We completely lost the color wheel, but we only gained a few more body sliders and still nothing for height. At least in 2 and 3 teenagers looked like teenagers. With the loss of the color wheel they couldn't even give us the sims 2 style of build mode. Want the pick blanket on a white frame? Better recolor it or download it from someone. But what struck me most of all was the idle animations... kids running to greet their parents when they came home, sims actually socialize with each other in different ways complete undirected. I had forgotten that in the sims 2 you could just sit back and watch your sims interact in the world you created for them. And they didn't just get endless glasses of water and pretty much ignore anyone else in the house.

I agree with a lot of the commenters ? But would like to add preference or avoidance of occult sims. Fairy’s and burglars . I will agree with the family system is screwed johnny zest is example #1 to me .

Just because you do a certain skill doesn't mean you should get better at it. My sims, who are neglectful and abusive parents to their daughter, have reached level 8 of parenting skill because of how many times they have grounded her and yelled at her. And also because they ALWAYS help their other daughter with pretty much everything. It doesn't make sense.

It would be great if you could limit food to both lactose free and vegetarian. It gets annoying when you're playing with a sim who is both, or doing family dinners with multiple sims including veggies and lactose intolerant sims. Plus, the grand meals didn't get the same overhaul.

A lot of the base game systems are ignored. I agree with everything you said but the books you write not being able to be sold in stores really upset me and when you make a copy it can make the quality go down and it’s only one copy lol. What’s the point in making your sims a writer.

Able to add dye to your hair half or full add more than one color ,different hair colors per outfit. Seriously why isn't none of these in the game..i'm on ps4 I don't have time for mods or able to get them 😒...

Eh meh. Minor quality of life changes, I guess. I don't think anyone could disagree with these. I want to customize my world, not for them to tell me how to play. I want options for the worlds for sims not to cross over, whether or not to use phones and such. I want effin cars, because we have them in real life and I want to play how *I* want, not to be told that something doesn't make sense in the Sims world. Which, by the way, is a lie, since we have parked cars and roads and you can even see moving cars in some worlds, so... I want to be able to decide how modern my world is - if I want my Sims to use a landline and read newspapers, why the eff not? Why do I HAVE to play in modern times only?

They can't even fix existing bugs that have been in the game for years. I highly doubt they will make improvements, it's clear their method of releasing content is: Least amount of work possible for the most amount of profit as possible. People complain that EA won't fix the game and say they are gonna boycott etc then they forget that when two new kits are "accidentally" leaked. 😂

I’m puzzled that they have llamas and sheep for wool, but don’t have a spinning wheel. It seems like a missed opportunity. But then I’m also mildly bummed that things like yoga, slow dancing, and kid’s bikes are things you have to buy extra packs for. It makes me think unkind things about EA

7:53 in addition to this we also need an option to make a customised party. instead of waiting for ea to drop a sleepover party i should just be able to make up a party/event name and add in activities the sims will do (and add it in a particular order too), similar to the liked and disliked activities seen in the get together club creation. it would take a load off ea since they obviously don't want to do anything themselves and give simmers freedom to create all kinds of events

A Character height slider and a weather system would be pretty cool to have in the base game

SECRETS!!! I don't want every sim to know everything about me. I want to be able to tell people who I have a crush on, who I am dating, where I live, my grades, etc. I want parents to ask the kids how school was and be able to lie. I want to be able to slap a friend and have it an inside joke, or be confronted because they tattled. I want to be able to come out to my friends, and then my mom, but not my dad or grandma because they're religious. (I also want religion or something similar as well). ... I want war. I want to go to be enlisted and be forced to go to another location (similar to vacation world/work lots). (I) can choose to follow or have pop ups. I want to choose to run away and be hunted down. I want to come home wearing a robot arm or cast (non removable) due to injury. I want to make choices (pop ups and not pop ups) that effect the battle. I want different army that pull from different locations. ... I want to be able to build houses and garden lots. Like I can pick a house and choose upgrade and it gives me an ETA on how long the sims will be able to finish it. It will cut down on costs too. Or I can hire a contractor for immediate build. And I can pause the build time when I have to go to work without it messing up. ... Temporary hairstyles/etc that doesn't have me go to cas. The hairstylist only has so many to choose from (or an additional cas option for more $$) and they make it and it lasts for a few days. And sometimes the hairstylist messes up or gets creative, etc and we get mad or really like it. ... I dnd world-BUT GOOD! We start in another world but we travel to that world (can live there after arriving) by finding/being gifted/etc a strange item (a 20 sided die). We then pick our "character" (or use ourselves or a cas option) and load into a screen that's like sims medieval. The phone turns into a magical mirror (that talks to us) and we have to go around solving mysterious events/etc. The big thing is simmers would create their own quests that ea would release regularly (like 10-20 per month maybe?). That would open up a lot of content available online. Like you create a quest to attack the evil sorcerer to rescue the dragon egg and we need to be able to also solve (but don't know it) the unlucky nun who won't leave us alone, where the sorcerer is hiding the 12 books and bonus points for romancing the bard who swindled the prince out of his underpants and wants to lock everyone up. (Lots of ideas here really. And using manly the same sims system we have rn.) And then people like me can complete it in different ways on our own or people like lil simsie can make video on her own playthrough. And then simmers can rate the challenge and playthrough abilities, etc. lots of entertainment value here.

fix the lifespans. too many orphan sims in my game, because their parents became elder and died. idk if they adjusted the lifespans to accommodate the infants, it doesn't feel like it.

Does anyone remember Sims 2 era when you build your neighborhood (I had Final Fantasy neighborhood) and your active household could visit/hang out with another household, for instance, Cloud could visit Zack for BBQ. That doesn't exist in Sims 4. I haven't noticed it does. Also..in Sims 4 infant cribs are so bland, so infants/babies don't need toys or blankets in their beds?

This is such a miniscule thing, but I wish sims could write fanfics or create fanart for movies, tv shows, and books in-game because that would just be a really cool detail to add.

Agree with all of these!! Some things that i think could be AMAZING if addeed soon is height sliders for all age groups, shorter teens and more infant stuff +clothes!

This is a good video. Very well thought out and isn't just senseless hate. It is valid criticism of a game that is okay but is lacking features. I was so disappointed that Heterochromia was not added with vitiligo. Also the vitiligo need more patch patterns I can't properly make my husband without CC.

It's insane how in TS4 kids can only become obese from eating as much as they require and have no way to lose or even maintain lower weights. Like kids are GROWING, they NEED those calories to age up!

More options. Improve what's already in the game. With every new pack added, custom holiday options and club activities and heck even the icons for them should be updated. Also there should be an easier way to implement things like homeschooling. If Sims can work from home in certain careers, and you already have interactions in place for parent/caregiver teaching kids, admonishing them, and helping with homework, homeschooling effectively shouldn't require multiple clubs, a year's worth of holidays, and daily calls from the actual school to ignore. That option should have come with the high school pack. Also also. We have those dumb stalls, including the new one which is at least a lot more functional. But how hard would it be to just make it so that a sim can live full time in their business lot? Without also having to own and maintain a separate residential lot they don't even use, yet they always go back to by default after work and school. It would eliminate so many headaches. Also, this is a video game. Why are the bills so high? Why do you need like a thousand water catchers and solar panels to be self sufficient? On that note why isn't "off the grid" actually off the grid? I want to be able to have a sim who hates technology, doesn't have a phone or TV or computer, and can't be forced to use them. Not just get a bad moodlet because the wifi is bad. There should be no wifi to be bad and the sim should not want to have or play on their phone. Instead of personality traits, how the sim lives or what they avoid should be like a "value trait". It should be easier to change than a personality trait, however be 100% set in stone while it's active. Most people who don't eat meat choose that because it's their value, not their personality. Off the grid should be a value trait. If there's a question what it would fall into, do you say "this is how I am/what I enjoy" or "this is what I believe in"? And value traits should be able to contradict personality traits, this forcing the sim to make decisions about themselves. Oh. And we need memories back. Just to piggy back on your advanced family system, adopting children should be a gameplay element, I want a parent sim who neglects their children to feel negative reoccurring moodlets when they get taken away. On top of that, their genealogy is wiped away, why? If the neglected kid gets adopted by another family i want their original genetic family still displayed on the family tree along side their new parents. Its like the sims love to remove anything remotely realistic of the bad parts of our world & have no consequences to actions when it makes such good gameplay elements.

I agree with most of these, but particularly the party one. I think that's the case with Sims 2 as well. You'd think someone would have thought to fix it by now. Incidentally, there are people who marry their cousins, so maybe turning off romantic interactions for them might not be the best thing for everyone 😆 The stepparent one is weird though

I would like to have the ability to purchase lots side by side and merge to expand the size of lots. Some of us need or want something much larger than 64x64.

I think the reason why step parents can flirt with their step kids its because it happens a lot in real life. As weird as it is it's a common trope in a lot of drama shows, its even the storyline for Don lothario and the Calientes. 😭😭

I just want a blank neighbourhood that can be edited in some way and also isn't covered in obviously American fake buildings that you can't delete. Seriously if they are gonna keep goving us such small neighbourhoods, atleast give us a decent new crest!

I disagree with almost everything here. Extremely disagree in some cases. I don't play with families much ever so I think the over blown family system is too much, too cumbersome, already too large & a waste of dev time. Making bloated code more bloated doesn't give anyone what they want, just look at Growing Together for proof. Your idea of an easier management system goes against most UI general rules. Don't bury key features, info or core mechanics beneath drop down sub menus. Extra clicks = sh1t design. If they did this I would personally be furious. Screaming to the hilltop's to revert it back the same way I'm outraged they broke all console controls because a handful of new players can't wrap there fingers around a controller. Agree fame should not override family in the game but in real life that's how it actually works. I have a pseudo famous relative & even there sister can't talk to them anymore because it's like screaming in the wind to even just get there attention. Fame = sucking as a person. So they got that pretty accurate actually. I agree that food choices shouldn't be traits but I strongly disagree that people who have dietary needs didn't make there entries lives about that need. My spouse is lactose intolerant & that need drives all family functions. All our relatives have to deal with making sure something is edible or everyone will regret it. My aunty has celiac disease & her gluten free diet is not a lifestyle as proven by the fun wedding where she was rushed to the hospital because the caterer thought gluten free was a suggestion. It actually is a personality feature to be vegetarian, lactose intolerant or gluten free because of you don't make it who you are as a person you might die. And I've gotta tell you my grampa was 400+ pounds, 6'6", a farmer who worked hard labor 14 hours a day, ate 2 meals like a bird & did I mention the man was enormous!? When you eat too little your body begins trying to eat it self. Our family has a genetic predisposition to thyroid dysfunction & not all active people are thin. So your farmer comparison literally made me belly laugh it's so wrong. I agree worlds don't have enough collectables. 👍🏽👍🏽 Overall though what I'm trying to tell you is we disagree. A lot. The devs need to make me happy & you happy while also making a functional game. Right now I don't care if either of us are "happy" by what they do. I don't give a hoot. The only thing I want is them to fix bugs. This is a wants vs needs situation. What we want is irrelevant. What we neeeed is bug fixes.
