I listened to this song alot back then. This song means alot to me. When i met the woman i'm now marrried with i played this song almost every day. She means the world to me and this song says exactly how I feel about her. finnaly she is in my heart. Shortly after we git married she got diagnosed with cancer but survived. This song got me through it all. Still to this day. Thank you, Oceans Of Slumber, for the great music and especially this song.
Uuuuh good question and I see a lot of good suggestions (looking at you the gathering) here’s what I would suggest, put your magic touch of groove and filth on these gems; Alice in Chains - Love, Hate, Love. Alter Bridge - Black Bird. Björk - Joga. Deftones - Hole in the Earth. Faith No More - Smaller and Smaller. Killing Joke - The house that pain built. Marilyn Manson - Valentine’s Day. Massive Attack - Angel. Nick Cave - Your funeral my trial. The Smashing Pumpkins - Soma Or The end is the beginning is the end Or Thru the eyes of Ruby Or Ava Adore… ❤
You should have more songs like this one. I think you'd also have more fans if you did. The rest of your material don't come anywhere close to This Road and it makes people disapointed and still hungry after leaving your restaurant. Your whole band's full potential is displayed in this song. Its like you refuse to use it further, but instead you explore some other grounds that you don't really belong in, instead of pushing where you excell. I respect your choice, you're real fucking artists. I just felt like I needed to say it.
Or maybe those limitations are just yours and the restaurant you frequent has a limited menu. We've explored quite a bit of dynamic doom and melancholia on every record we've made since this. Literally every album, and everybody seems to relate differently. That's the spice of life
