Next trip come in the summer time. From July to August the water temperature is perfect for swimming on the east coast from the mid Atlantic states south to Florida. If you like the mountains, take a trip out to the Rockies in Colorado. Better yet, the Cascades in Washington State. The Cascades are greener and there is LITERALLY a waterfall every 10 minutes because of all the precipitation they get most of the yr. Late June to August it's perfect for camping there because it's dryer than the rest of the year. California is a mess right now so if you're going to go there you had better be careful which cities you visit. Same is true for Portland and Seattle but if you want to see the Cascade mountains you can always fly into Spokaine instead of Seattle and drive west to the Cascades.
There is a reason why the Staten Island Ferry is free. Staten Island is the Southern most bit of New York City (and New York State). It's physically closer to New Jersey than to the rest of New York City. For decades the residents of Staten Island complained that it was New York City's 'forgotten borough' . In the 90s the residents voted in a referendum to secede from New York City and join New Jersey. The city and state of New York agreed to provide the residents of Staten Island with a number of concessions to convince them not to leave. One of those concessions was removing all fees from the Staten Island Ferry.
Most Europeans don't understand the temperature extremes in the United States. For example, NYC city gets much colder than London in winter and it also gets much hotter than London in summer. The best times to visit NYC are May/June and September/October.
I loved your reactions in Times Square. It reminded me of one of my favorite memories: taking my family to NYC for one of my business trips during Christmas season (NYC during Christmas is incredible...highly recommend!). We turned the corner at 47th & 7th to the lights, and snow. GIANT flakes; the kind you can hear hit the ground. What an amazing experience.
You need to see the spectacular rural America. Deserts in the southwest, the Appalachians in the east, the mountains of the west, the swamps of south Florida.
You really need to visit cities like New Orleans, Charleston, Savannah, San Antonio, Boston or San Francisco. NY, DC and Philly are nice but they are just the front door or facade to America. I’d also suggest visiting some of our top national parks- Yellowstone, Zion, Yosemite or Grand Canyon. They are unmissable.
We did go to Boston after NYC, spent a couple days there but didn’t video much and just enjoyed our time exploring there (the people are really friendly in Boston!) so made sense for the video to end where it did 😅 we can’t wait to come back and see some of the national parks!! 😍
I'm glad you made it to Philly! Even if it was only a few hours. The historic areas of Philly are amazing. If you come back, we have so much more to offer. I see you hit the main places. Those are what I would recommend for a tourist. I hope you enjoyed your stay!
We’ve been back in the U.K. for just over a month now, we have no idea what we’re doing from now until Christmas but have big plans for the new year ✈️🌏
Love to see my country through new eyes. You have a good way with words. Next time you have to do some more cultural things like the Smithsonian museums in DC and a Broadway show and/or museums in NYC.
We went to the Smithsonian museums in DC just didn’t really film in there as it was full of children on field trips 😅 unfortunately we didn’t get around to a broadway show, an excuse to return I guess 🤷♀️
I have to get back down to the Reading terminal market . I'm in the northeastern suburbs of Philly in I often tell my son there are a lot of great places to see but you're lucky to be within an hour and a half of nyc, philly, the beach, the mountains, the countryside like Lancaster county etc
Thanks for checking out the North East. I feel like it doesn’t get as much love in US travel videos these days(outside NYC, NYC tourism is eternal). It gets a bad reputation from other Americans but it has so much history to see and has a bunch to see in a small geographic area which is rare for the US and North America on the whole.
Go to Hawaii and Alaska: gorgeous states with incredible scenery and wildlife and very nice locals. Thanks for showcasing the best of 🇺🇸 and please stay safe here
If you do a road trip through Southwest and/or Rocky Mountain States, and/or the PNW states, you will for sure not be disappointed! It is the crem de le crem of outdoors in the US in my opinion. Alaska/ Hawaii is always an outstanding outdoors destination too but maybe harder to get to.
I’m American , I’m 29 years old and I only visited NYC for the first time only 3 months ago. I was blown away by it and how awesome it is. Glad you all enjoyed America, come visit again soon!!
Saying you're going to visit the USA and then just viewing cities in the northeast is like we Americans saying we are going to visit Europe by just going to cities in Ireland. Your video from the Washington Monument showed how much bigger the White House actually is compared to the ground view. However, it didn't show all of the White House that is underground. Of course the US Capital Building is bigger than the White House just like your parliament building is much bigger than 10 Downing Street. Its bru·kluhn not brah kluhn. Welcome, the the United State of America. Hope your visit is warm and welcoming as well a damn fine time.
obviously? that would still be a correct statement, the north east is in the US and Ireland is in Europe. They never claimed to have seen the entirety of the US or know all the intricacies and nuances of regional differences, come off it dawg. The North East is a phenomenal region to visit for a first time visit. It has tons of history from the colonial period on, is one of the most populated and well off regions so there is plenty to do, and is much closer to Europe than the other regions. You know damn well if you’re from the US that doing more than one region on a trip is a big undertaking, it makes far more sense to pick a region and travel within it.
It's always nice to see some folks visiting and enjoying their time here in the grand ol' US of A! ☺ If you ever come back and want to see more nature, I would recommend visiting the Appalachian Mountain Range. If you want to visit a more tourist-y area within the mountain range, then I would recommend the Great Smokey Mountains National Park - there are hiking trails and plenty of sightseeing there. But if you want to see a less visited area within the mountain range, then I would recommend visiting the state of West Virginia - you can visit the New River Gorge National Park, and there are a lot of other state parks there too!
