Hi! Quick question. If i have a nail polish remover with acetone, can i just use that? I dont know if it willl work the same. And for nails like this, can you use normal bail polish and let it dry overnight, or do you need gel polish? Im a teenager on a budget, and I'd like to learn to paint my press-ons.
@Choaticsibling1111 hi! Yes, regular nail polish remover with acetone is fine :) regular nail polish is fine too, but it takes a while to dry. 24hrs is probably enough depending on how thick they are painted. The problem arises when you press down on the nail to apply it, if it's not 100% dry it will leave a fingerprint in the polish. I'd reccomend painting one extra nail, that you'll be able to test if it's completely dry without worrying about wrecking it :) have fun!
I just started making my own press on nails and I went and bought all kinds of full cover nail tips but I noticed a lot of them were soft gel tips and not plastic.. could I still use the soft gel tips like this?
@NightBorne2 hi 👋 yes those are fine. Lots of people prefer those type anyways as they are less likely to break, and mould to the natural nail easier. Have fun!
I didn't order these as I didn't know wtf I was doing with powders! Lol... but this tutorial was straight to the point and so easy to follow! Tysm! 1 question: Did you cure the 1st coat of white, then leave the 2nd tacky? Or did you not cure either?
Hi! I'm glad it has helped. Pigment powders are really versatile and fun to use in other ways, too, so you should get some! Each coat of polish is cured. The tacky layer is created by curing. Some polishes cure with no tacky layer though, if that happens then just flash cure for 10 sec ( or more, you'll have to experiment which gives you the best sticky finish for the powders to cling to) and make sure to cure fully after applying the powder to reduce the risk of allergies from uncured product. Hope this helps xx
I use the tape as a design for most of my nails. I don't take it off. I love the colors. There are many different ways to use it. You could've put a silver strip in the middle of the white portion of the red nail or the purple hyper strip on one of diagonal lines on the purple and white nail. Many different uses for them.
Thank you so much 💓 I'm actually Canadian but I've been married to a Glaswegian for a very long time so my accent gets confused sometimes! 😆😆 I love that you thought I was Scottish. That's the biggest compliment 😊
If it's 100% the same as when you applied it, your light isn't suitable. But if you're just wiping it off and some color is coming off but the design remains, just don't wipe it, and apply a topcoat.
@@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie what's the name of the pen, I'm looking to buy one. AliExpress has alot of stuff and cannot decide I was thinking of maybe something else
@samanthanicholson9015 if you look for a nail art calligraphy pen you should find it. In all honesty, it's not something that I used very often, because I find it easier to free hand with a detail brush but it is a cool option to have, and usually they're inexpensive.
@@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie oh great and thanks, the brush I have seems to rotate off if I hit towards the end...I need to practice but I. Oval or curves it isn't doing good I do better free hand draw on paper.
@samanthanicholson9015 it certainly pays to invest in some high quality brushes and gel paint. If you're using brushes from Ali Express or similar and Gel polish, you would benefit trying something from a reputable company that specialises in nail art. Either way, keep practicing and you'll keep improving! Xx
Thank you for the tutorial 🙏:) I just bought the Bluesky Hard Gel in white and I'm hoping it won't chip to easily and maybe strengthen my natural nails.
Look at me necro-commenting. First, thank you for having this for me to learn from. Second: do your dominant hand first. That way your 'bad' hand is working without having to contend with the nail tips. Your dominant hand is more likely to be fine while wearing them. They. Look. Stunning.
hi i don't have a buffer and acetone so is there anything else i could use instead of them and i also dont have any uv light to cure them so can i just a fan to dry them??
Every salon I go to in America (except when I lived in California) these asian women in Texas nail salons do not KNOW how to do an APEX. It is sad. I trust no one with my hair and nails. You did a WONDERFUL JOB.
