Johnny is a great singer, but not for this song. No one could touch the voice of Esther Satterfield as she made this song hers with her heavenly voice.
I am going to disagree with the commenters about the orchestral playing. I find it lacking compared to what you’d get from a non-pops ensemble. Everything is too creamy and smooth, even when the music doesn’t call for it. There are moments where I want and expect more dynamic variances and they don’t observe them.
