We're Taylor and Kevin from Mathers On The Map, with the goal to hit 30 countries under 30! However, since we cannot travel internationally at the moment we are touring the USA in our DIY converted Sprinter Van!
Check out our Van Build Series if you're interested in converting a van!
Van or no van keep this channel alive! We will follow you both no matter what! We are loyalty till the end!! You guys are the best. I got home late from work 9 :30 and rushed home for the big announcement!
I enjoyed the Canada series. Love that rugged coastal town vibe. We are about wrapping up our Iceland series and that was so much fun. Canada would be an epic road trip. It’s a good idea to sell it. You could also rent a van for a period also if you want to do it again. I would love to do van trip in Banff Canada someday. Good luck with the new goal. Cheers guys! 🎉
I hope you buy a bigger rig, one like the dude in baja with the giant orange truck had. I could see you weren't long for van travels. With the baby, limited space, limited water and power, it looked more difficult than it needed to be -- too many factors determining your decisions. I'm sad about the Australians in Baja. I was gonna go next winter, now I don't know. 😶
We'll hopefully be able to share soon! I think you mentioned you're caravanning right? You'll be absolutely fine caravanning, Baja really is an incredible place. I just wouldn't really go to far into the unknown alone. But that's probably a smart idea anywhere.
The van was a big part of the Channel and the reason we have been following you guys for a long time. Excited to see what you guys get in to. Hopefully it involves some cool vehicle.
@@MathersOnTheMap Yup, caravaning. My plan is to do it beginner's style -- heading south pretty quickly and staying on the eastern side, no scary cliff edge roads. I'm hoping my friends have that in mind too.
@MathersOnTheMap They make valves that can replace the oil drain bolt on your oil pan underneath. I bought mine and it came with a hose to attach for control of drainage that I never use. They are meant for motor RV's, but I bought it for my Dodge Ram Truck. It works brilliantly, slow drain, but brilliantly. You just put your catch pan underneath, or in your case the gallon jug and use the hose that came with it, and turn the valve to drain. Then close the valve when you are done draining. Easy-peasy. Just thought you would like to know. 👍 😃
This is very exciting. And the fact you’re not telling everything about what your plans are keeps people coming back to see what’s happening. Also so excited to see what you guys build next.
Soooooo excited for "Our" (quote unquote) new adventure. I was thinking back when COVID hit & how it affected so many couples in a bad way & it's a true testament to the beautiful relationship u 2 have to b able to travel the way u do & still Love on one another. I can't wait to 👀 what's in store for ur future adventures & for us to live vicariously through u. I hope u have a girl bcuz u guys make beautiful babies...
I love to have the cash 💸 💰 I'd take that van for Tucker and I oh yeah and my wife lol. Unfortunately it's not in my budget now, good luck with the sale and we will be following where ever your journey takes you and watching those new plans take place.
The only thing I'm gonna ask is: please don't stop with the channel!!! Watching you guys is one of my ways to relax. As I mentioned in another video, I love your lifestyle! Honestly, it's so calming to watch you guys talk and show anything, really! haha During this time at home, show more of your routine, lifestyle, meals, walks around the city with Wyatt, workouts at the gym, and restaurants around the city or country. I'm sure you two have so much more content to show and share with us! And I was so happy to hear the news about the next baby!!!! May God bless your family a lot!!!
Aww thank you so much Jessica this means a lot!! We really appreciate the support and the recommendations for what you want to see, I will def try to incorporate some of that into next weeks video. ❤️❤️ Hope all is well, xoxox!
I would assume many of your followers are fans of your life dramas and travels. Im kinda surprised your selling the dream machine. My wife & I so enjoy 3 day to multi week trips In ours searching for unique regional & stateside outdoor adventures. We found your travels n challenges awesome and very relatable. Hoping somehow theirs more to come.
Definitely more to come!!! We just need to sell the van in order to open up the door to the next chapter, we really like being home in Nj in the summer and don’t have too much desires to take the van to cold locations this fall/winter especially if Taylor is pregnant and we’re with Wyatt…. Can’t go on a big ski trip like we did in the first van. So we’ll see what happens, we still have to drive very far to make it home and we can’t go fast with a one year old
The deaths of the three surfers in Baja is very tragic. It is something we should be mindfull of, and it is also something we should make sure we take in with perspective. We as a society have a history of making poor decisions based in fear. The media and friends that watch the media for us all tell us of the fear we should have. Don't let their fear infect you or your life decisions. Don't let their fear rob you of beaches completely to yourselves. These same people told you you could not travel with a baby, and yet you did, and you were rewarded. Don't let them take that from you. Take a look at the crime stats for the state of New Jersey and get the needed perspective. In 2023 there were 924 people shot in New Jersey. Of that 924, 191 were killed. This is a significant improvement from past years. In 2020 they had 329 murders in New Jersey. 2021 Rape = 712 2021 Robbery = 1857 2021 Assault = 27,129 2021 Burglary = 5,081
I completely agree Jeff, but it definitely puts our guard up more than when we came down the peninsula this winter unfortunately and it doesn’t get us as excited to venture far into the unknown especially with our baby boy. Bad things can happen anywhere, like simply going to a Walmart in the US, we get that. This is just one of the several factors traveling with a baby that let us to our decision
That is a surprise! Selling the van. There are vans no where near the quality of yours going for a lot so it should sell fast! I might have inquired but Mercedes said Our van build was transferred to Germany to be built 6-16! A delay that I like. We watch your channel because of you so whatever it is you do we’ll be here! Can’t wait for your next upcoming surprise! You guys are keeping me on the edge of my seat!! 🤣
Thank you Rod!!! Appreciate that! Wait your building a camper van directly through Mercedes? I’m curious about that!! Haha unfortunately it will take some time until we’re able to announce it … gotta sell the van first
@@MathersOnTheMap Sorry! It’s a custom order. We went to Mercedes in Feb. They had 2 open build slots so I jumped on it. I get just the van and I will build it out. I was expecting it in June but they must be swamped and sent some builds to Germany. A delay but I love it’s being built in Germany. The rails, swivel for both seats, black wheels etc. all lower price than after market and I won’t have to do it! And I got pebble gray! 🤣
I want to buy the van!! That’s all. I want to but definitely can’t afford to 😂😂😂. But whoever does buy it is gonna be thrilled!! Such a beautiful build! Can’t wait to see what you guys are up to next!! ❤️
Please don’t turn your channel into a home renovation / build channel. Every van lifer I followed in the past has done that and they are all boring. Please don’t fall into the home remodeling trap. The competition in this area is intense and it just isn’t that interesting.
Check out Course Careers' opportunities at coursecareers.com/a/mathersonthemap Any guesses on our next adventure?! If you already know please don’t spoil it 🤐
True that. Cool to hear you say that it's time to open a new chapter and you think of us, what it must feel like for us. I've watched you guys build a van, travel through amazing places... watched other YT channels like: Eamon & Bec, or Eva zu Beck... and I'm always grateful to see how life happens, and you guys leave a crack open for us to be part of it. Cheers... stay true to yourselves. <3
I am Australian and have been watching you guys for a while now. As soon as I heard the tragic news about those Aussie Surfers it broke my heart and then I thought about you guys in Baja and your safety so I totally understand your decision as sad as it is. Stay safe and I look forward to your next content whatever it may be!
How thick is the bed liner when it dries? Our van has a glass power moon roof, so we would have to apply around it. When done, would the bed liner be too thick, and make water pool over the sunroof, or is it negligible thickness that would let water roll off the sunroof and not pool on top of it?
I'm headed to Baja next winter with a small caravan of vans. A video involved in planning a trip to Baja would be great. It looked like you were fully aware of where you were going well in advance of each stop, even if plans changed a little as you went along. I want to know where I'm crossing, where I plan to stay the first night, favorite places I want to see. And since I'm traveling with other vans, we kind of need to be in agreement of where we head and when we split up. Anyway, an overview of Baja / how to do Baja would be great.
Wow Dad is such an asshole. Maybe you could wake up as Mom is breast feeding to make her some coffee? Instead of being a condescending asshole laughing at her when she is struggling?
