Packed into the front of the stage like sardines. Nothing but arm pits and sweat, if you are lucky maybe a few moments of headbanging. But it's the sign of dedication and youth, wouldn't want to attempt it at this ripe old age of 53.
Gail is the one behind all of it. Frank never legally created a will but he had something in writing stating even split between all 4 kids. After frank died - Gail changed it up. The two younger siblings Ahmet and Diva have complete control over the estate - leaving out Moon and Dweezle the two eldest. Also money was unevenly divided- the two youngest got 60% split while the two eldest received 40% split. So there’s that. Also both parents were in dept when they passed- leaving a mess for the kids to clean up. Very sad to do that to your children
Frank split everything evenly in his will. However, there was some loophole that Frank probably didn’t even see that made it so Gail could give Moon and Ahmet much less than the other two. Total betrayal by Gail.
That picture alone says everything. Ahmet is a big obnoxious, boisterous goon. I grew up w the eldest two in the same grade school. Ahmet came later as big oaf w no talent. Their mom was an alligator. I feel for Moon & Dweezil equally. They got fucked by that evil mom. 😖
Yeah, isn’t that mind blowing? I saw an interview with Moon recently somewhere here on RU-vid. She said that dad left a will, but Gail told them he didn’t and they found it going through her things after she died.
While Dweezil and Moon honor the Zappa name and keep it in the public eye with integrity, Ahmet is an insulting prick devoid of talent and wracked with jealousy. His stupidity undermines the very estate that supports his family.
Mike Keneally gave a perfect definition: playing with Dweezil and Ahmet was like playing with Frank split in two. IMHO, Z shows with Dweezil AND Ahmet were much funnier than Zappa Plays Zappa concerts (even though these were musically and emotionally fantastic!) Ahmet was not (is not) a musician, but he surely was an entertainer!
Frank spent his life leaving a music legacy for the world to enjoy. Dweezil toured Franks music to keep it alive. Ahmet and Diva destroyed Franks legacy.
The two younger kids, who people barely know because they're not productive, were put in charge of the two known, productive kids. Dweezil is the most productive and keeps exposing new generations to his dad's music, so he's doing ALL of the work and Ahmet is sitting back like a pimp with his hoes turning tricks on the street. Ahmet was taxing Dweezil a bit too much for performance rights and wanted too much of the merch sales without taking Dweezil's costs into account. I think Dweezil figured, "Well, if I don't use Franks trademarked name and sell merch without any trademarks, I get to keep ALL of the money after costs." The name of the show was changed from "Dweezil Zappa plays the music of Frank Zappa" to "Dweezil Zappa Plays Whatever the Hell He Wants. Ahmet basically played himself. I think it's all been worked out now, though.
About a year go I was in the garage drinking beer, building horsepower, and listening to SLAYER. Apparently one of my neighbors half a dozen blocks away called the police due to the volume. The cops came and arrested that neighbor.
I was stoned outta my mind at slayers concert in 1990. It was exactly like that and life threatening. I swear there were people literaly ripping seats on the stadium and throwing and all kinds of chaos going on. It was just not a good idea to be stoned where there were bunch of meth addicts and coke heads running around . There were blood everywhere when it was over and lights got lit. I really regret to this day that I smoked too much weed at slayers concert
