depends on the place they play. i know americans can be extremely careless and unthoughtfull, but where im from they dont act like cavemen. we help people up that fall, and try to make sure they are ok.
I got the War At The Warfield dvd. i see how "weird" some of the fans are. someone sacrificed his dog while listening to slayer he said in the dvd. a harmless dog... fucking psycho. good dvd though. r.i.p Jeff \m/
Been a Slayer fan since '87. If you're a Slayer fan and are offended by ANY of Bruer's routine, you are a sad individual. There's a lot of truth to this bit. Slayer fans ARE rowdy, CAN look damn scary, yet are some of the nicest and coolest people. The pits are brutal, but they WILL help you up if you fall down.
Philipe Pessoa an “aisle” is a small pathway one would use to get to their seat in an auditorium/stage setting Alternatively, an “isle” without the “a” is a very small island
This is SO good! He's opening for METALLICA on tour now! See my guitar on Metallica, Slayer and NOW 1990 found THRASH by kids Re-Mastered! If ya want? /w\ METAL /w\
Yea LOL I saw Pantera and slayer In dallas. It was a fucking riot. Was the best night of my life. One of my bros broke his knee that night. We were teen agers at the time. Don't worry broke knee did not spoil the night. We still partied like a motherfucker till the show was over.
I'm a huge Slayer fan and this is brilliant. Reminds me of my first time I saw Slayer ( I was 19 though), and I was picked up and used as a weapon in the pit. Mind you I'm 6' 1" and weighed 260 back then. Good times.
That was an amazing show. Lamb of God was sick! The new world age version slayer! Fuk yeah! Stoked the fire hell hot for Slayer!! 2nd time seeing Lamb of God they are wicked awesome!!
@@lescarpenter5797 they opened for them in 2017 also with behemoth. Also great show, would go a third time to see them together if they come around again.
Joan Brunet Verdaguer Allow me to try: I do not care for their core sound. I find it wholly uninteresting, and I think Kerry King's songwriting abilities are sorely lacking
metaljohn209 maybe he went to the clash of the titans. i seen that tour twice in nintyone but they had Alice and Chains opening up , now that was a good time
Ronnie Ron anderson saw Clash of the titans also, but he references Metallica as coming on after Slayer, so it was a big 4 show. Plus he wouldnt have been 45 in the early 90's
demotivatoropinion If he was actually hilarious we'd be laughing. However, his jokes play off our stereotypes and makes us ALL sound like wild animals. And that bothers me slightly. And he takes potshots at the names of the bands, which is fine i guess but i get the vibe he doesnt really know much of them. If youre gonna take potshots, at least know enough about them besides thier name. Id be laughing if he said " You know i got passes backstage, and i passed by Dave man. Yeah MegaDave. I asked him " Wheres Metallica man?" He told me where, then he asked me " Do you think they'll let me back in the band?" It would've showed that he knew some of Megadeths history and Metallicas at the very least.
Wow I didn't think it was possible to be a METALHEAD and SNOWFLAKE at the same time but these butthurt comments seem to prove it.Dammit what's left to enjoy now that even METAL is now infested with SJW bullshit?
So many people can’t take a joke, it seems. Jim Bruer is a huge metalhead. He’s just doing a comedy routine. I forgot that some metalheads can’t take a joke about anything metal.
@@coverstream9951 why they have to be a pussy. I love slayer and don't find anything funny. But just a comedy thing that's all. If he can tell it a better way than this yeah maybe
I've scrolled so far down the comment section and never saw a negative comment by any metalheads.. I was hoping to see at least one but all I see are comments saying metalheads cant take a joke..
Metalhead here. What he is saying is 100% accurate. Went to a festival once and there were still 5 bands to go until Slayer. Started hearing “SLAAAYYYYEEERRR” right around that time.
Yes but in the words of Papa Tom himself, we Slayer fans are all subhumans essentially, highly primitive, we care only for alcohol, drugs, destruction, and fuckin' Slayer. We are our own breed.
When i saw Slayer a few months ago, some asshole pulled a girl by her hair to a mosh pit and everyone stomped her for a good minute, until me and my cousin finally got through the people and carried her out of there. She had a broken kneecap and her leg was broken in 3 pieces. Also a good chunk of her hair was missing
+2XxStayFlyxX4 damn man seriously that's so not cool yeah something happened to me when I was trying to get out of the pit like a bunch of other people starting trying to push me back in but there were a couple other dudes who I think could tell I didn't really feel like going back in so they pulled me out which was pretty cool
@@jc334701 i caught one of pauls drumsticks. It was in slow motion, a heavenly choir, gods own light illuminated it as it spun majestically through the air. I calmly reached up and snatched it, brought it to my chest and fell backwards into the mosh pit. People started mobbing me trying to rip my treasure from my grasp, when the voice of the lord Tom himself yelled out to blood sick throng "HEY!! YOU LEAVE HIM ALONE, HE CAUGHT THAT FAIR AND SQUARE" it was GLORIOUS.
SLOW DEATH, IMMENSE DECAY SHOWERS THAT CLEANSE YOU OF YOUR LIFE FORCED IN LIKE CATTLE YOU RUN STRIPPED OF YOUR LIFES WORTH HUMAN MICE FOR THE ANGEL OF DEATH FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND MORE TO DIE
R. H. Angel of death Monarch to the kingdom of the dead Sadistic, surgeon of demise Sadist of the noblest blood Destroying, without mercy To benefit the Aryan race Surgery, with no anesthesia Fell the knife pierce you intensely Inferior, no use to mankind Strapped down screaming out to die Angel of death Monarch to the kingdom of the dead Infamous butcher, Angel of death
I saw Slayer at one of their last ever shows in Asheville. It’s the first time I ever went mosh-pitting. I had the time of my life, my friend who went with me not so much lol. Poor dude was 5’8” and 180 lbs; - broken glasses - broken toe - boot soles got peeled off - almost had his bag stolen I carried him out like a wounded combat vet man it was awesome
I like Slayer not a superfan but every time I am at a concert that also has slayer, having a slayer t-shirt is a great insurance policy for not getting killed.
I remember being 19, 20 yo and going crazy in the pit for Megadeth or Maiden or Testament. Now I'm 28, I mostly go at "softer" concerts like Avantasia or Blind Guardian, and even there I'm all like "why are these people so loud why do they drink so much my back hurts I'm too old for this shit" XD
He's sucking up to the norms who believe metal is a joke and only listened to by teenage boys. Okay, I was a teen when I first got into it, but I'm 50 now and I still love it. Born a rocker, die a rocker.
dragon nighthawk right, but a comedian caters to his audience, it's part of the craft. if one person in your audience gets triggered, you can tell that person to leave if they don't like what you say, and normally if the audience likes what you're saying they will back you up; try doing that to a crowd that hates you, and everyone is gone.
HIs comment about his feet not touching the ground and going where the crowd's going pretty much describes the first time that I saw Metallica back in 85. I didn't see any pits going, but I do remember being transported as he said, though. freakin' hilarious!!!!
This is brilliant, i'm a 25yr fan of Slayer and this used to be the case more in the 90's, i saw Slayer 6 times in the 90s and the pits were brutal, during one show i had a tooth knocked out and my left earlobe torn away from my head, one guy had a dislocated shoulder, it was a brutal as fuck and i loved every minute, that was expected if you go in the pit its going to be semi-dangerous. Its controlled aggression and no-one takes it personally, we all look after each other, pick each other up etc. Last few Slayer shows i have been to have definitely been a bit tamer. Going to see them 1 last time in November and i know its going to get fucking crazy, it has to, its the last tour.
IKR? My family was *certain* I'd get lynched when I went to see them on their farewell tour. I was like, "Get real, I'm in no danger here. I'll keep my decrepit ol' @$$ out of the mosh pit and everything's good." I've *never* had any issues at a metal concert since I started going at 18 (I'm 58).
First time i saw Slayer was epic. After the show i was shrugging towards the doors next to people who were bleeding from the head and still screaming, drinking and moshing. People who lost their clothes AND shoes. That was in the 90's. It was amazing. Saw em 5 times after that. SLAYER!
2:53 As a Slayer fan myself (R.I.P Jeff), i can attest to the accuracy of that statement. Then again, as what happens with most metal concerts these days, it doesn't matter how hectic it gets, you always go out of your way to make no-one gets stomped.
you guys in the front here, keep an eye on each other alright? you see somebody fall down help em out, this is what you're here to do , help each other out
drheim1 Tom always makes a point to remind everyone about their safety, and everyone else's. Just because it's chaos doesn't mean we want to kill each other.
Saw slayer the 1st time in 1986, and 17 times since. The shows are always intense, and full of energy. Slayer fans are loyal because slayer never sold out. They stayed true to themselves and the fans
I've seen SLAYER 22 times. There not the same without Jeff. His interpretation was comical though. The shows of the 80s where pretty violent. When i saw the big 4 together, it was still pretty hardcore mosh pits. Last time I saw them was in 2016 and the crowds are older and the pits are not as crazy, and people are more polite than they use to be.
Na in a nightclub more than twenty years ago, the wail of guitars at the beginning of South of heaven... Heads snapped up like dogs hearing a whistle, then the run for the dancefloor, and the circle started. Fantastic and chilling
This was perfect. I've been going to shows since the late '70's. My Dad was a "cool Dad;" he had me at 23. So, I know where Jim is coming from. I'm 43 now, and the bands I've seen would make you envious. So, when a 45 year old makes a killer bit like Brewer just did, trust me, get to be our age and you'll laugh as hard as I just did. I had tears in my eyes.
I almost died during Slayer no joke, I was stuck in the perpetual inescapable part of the pit and I never asked to be there or intended to. I literally couldn't get out and was out of breath and severely dehydrated, finally they finished a song and I was able to push out with my last bit of energy, it felt like it was 200 degrees in there, barely fucking made it, fond memories. FUCKIN SLAAAAYYYYEEEERRRRR
DAMN, YO! He's opening for METALLICA on tour now! See my guitar on Metallica, Slayer and NOW 1990 found THRASH by kids Re-Mastered! If ya want? /w\ METAL /w\
I saw Slayer when I was 17 and went down trying to get to the front and literally everyone around me grabbed me and pulled me back to my feet and sent me on my way.
yeah a woman saw me in the crowd all sweaty and while i was watching she tied my hair and gave me water, then she pushed everyone aside to let me to the first row so whoever says slayer fans are rude is gonna get slapped by me
All their fucking songs sound the same and their solos are dissonant with no structure or musicianship. THey made maybe 2 good albums their whole career - seasons in the abyss and south of heaven. Reign in blood had 2 or 3 good songs. Thats it.
Oh! he's got some funny ones in there but that is false and tarnishes concert goers as a whole. This is a guy who saw some videos and thinks he went to a concert. Be funny, be stupid, whatever, but be real.
I was lucky enough to catch them here about 2 weeks ago and goddamn were there a lot of people on the floor! For 2 or 3 songs my feet were swapping back and forth between standing on one persons foot and anothers lol. Fucking awesome show though!
Absolutely hilarious. The being moved by the crowd cause it is so tight is no joke. I went to see Fear Factory and Slayer at the boathouse in VA. It was so tight when the crowd jumped you went with them even if you weren't trying to jump. I damn near passed out but it was a great show. I don't get in the pit as often as I used to but when I do, I'm all in.
I saw Slayer at the Clash of the Titans in 1991 in Fayettevile, NC. I didn't ask to be in the mosh pit, the area I was in just became the mosh pit. Anyone that got knocked down was helped back to their feet. It was the best concert I've ever been to and at almost 50 years old I'd love to experience that joy and camaraderie again.
I'm a Slayer fan and I find this funny. Nice one, Jim Bruer! You're one cool dude. And definitely that is how it all felt when we're at Slayer concert: "RELEASE THE SLAYER FANS!"
