I'm sorry to say that I don't have this Bible anymore, but I will say that I observed very noticeable gilting scratches at the top and bottom of the block due to the zipper. Many other reviewers have noted the same problem, at least with these earlier zipper bibles. Hope this helps!
@@sohu86x ESV is one of my least favorite translations, though it's certainly viable. It's one of many I currently have, so your suggestion has already been a practice of mine for some time. Currently reading the NJV, NKJV, NASB95, & the NRSVUE interchangeably.
Glad to know I’m not the only one. I’ve heard several Bible reviewers talk about how great crossway is, but their quality has left me disappointed more often than not.

I have a compact NKJV that I got back in 2007. It looks to me like the print size might be close to the Pitt Minion type size. I might be getting a Pitt Minion sometime. Thank you for the comparison! I cheat, I wear bifocals 😁
I have a passport size one I made myself from a piece of leather from an old notebook cover that looks pretty much the same as yours. I put 4 elastics along the spine so I don't need to loop separate notebooks together with bands. Compared to the expensive price of a TC one I saved big dollars.

@@goldenarm2118 I appreciate that. The set up to the premise of the video was intentional and had a purpose...I simply wanted to establish what should be my "the one" and what turned out to be my actual "the one." I don't think I would've made my video any other way.

I was looking at the Traveler's Company options but your video sold me on this system. I think it will work for my need to have instant access to my notes, but also keep my hands free as much as possible. Thank you!
They are very comparable. They both have a more conservative word count per line when it comes to single column typesettings, which I really like. While the Clarion does have smaller line spacing, it's still very readable and the font size is perfect for a more compact footprint. The Clarion is also much easier to carry around despite its thickness. I think I'd prefer it as an every day carry for the most part. The Heritage is bible perfection when it comes to typesetting, though. If I were to try to imagine a perfect one stop shop for bibles, it would definitely be the Heritage.
The Select was published by Tyndale with a paste down Calfskin and edge lined goatskin edition in limited colors. Less premium binding overall. The Caxton was the same text block but bound in several other goatskin and calfskin colors by Schuyler. All edge lined and a more premium binding overall.
A lot of us have ploughed through a number of premium bibles in order to find The One. I read ESV and have the Quentel and PSQ, both of which are great bibles. Then I wanted to read the NASB for the first time 3 months ago so chose the gorgeous Black Pearl Quentel full yapp and absolutely love it, and right now it is my One of Three! My other fav is the ESV Omega by Crossway in Horween leather which is such a special leather. So, The Three One’s are the Schuyler Quentel NASB calfskin full yapp Black Pearl, Schuyler ESV PSQ calfskin in full yapp Marbled Merlot, and Crossway ESV Omega in Horween. 💎💎💎

I have a brown “leather touch” CSB. It’s about 7 years old. I like the translations, but not the leather touch. The “leather” has worn off on the edges and where the cover folds to the spine. The text block is very sturdy and is holding up well.
@@JR-lg7fd: Actually I also have a large print single column CSB in brown goatskin leather which I like very much. My only ""complaints about that are the paper is too thin and creases easily, and the margins are too narrow, especially the gutter. However, my wife and daughter gave me for father's day have given me a Holman Hand Crafted single column, large print, wide margin genuine leather edition. I like it very much. The paper is heavier weight, the pages don't stick together. This makes turning a page so much easier. and the wide margins are better for notes and comments. I definitely like the CSB translation though. It is very good to read especially out loud in public, and it just flows. I'm in my late 70's and the smaller print is hard on the eyes to read, that's why I prefer the large print. I did look at a journalling edition, but the print was too small. The large print is, for me, just right. My wife and daughter tease me that I have too many different Bible Translations and copies of the same translation. They've made me promise to get ride of some of them. We'll see
Have you had any issues with the page curling? Almost every page on my Pitt Minion starts to curl so I'm looking to replace it with a goatskin version of this.
I’ve wondered about that too. I’ve not heard of Crossway having page curling issues. It’s the #1 reason my Clarion ESV has fallen out of use. Same paper as the Pitt Minion I believe. Page curling is horrible. On one occasion when reading a section of Matthew over and over the pages rolled completely into the gutter. Insane. I’m trying to decide between this and a PSQ for my next ESV. I’m leaning toward PSQ primarily because of the references.
I have six Cambridge bibles four of which are Pitt Minions, one is Calf split while the others are Goatskin. I live in a relatively dry region of Texas compared to the Gulf or eastern part of the state that borders Arkansas and Louisiana. Never had page curling issues yet, but I wonder if maybe environmental conditions have contributed to moisture damage you’ve experienced with your Pitt Minions.
