Great review, appreciate you factoring in the letting space, it’s a major thing for me too tbh. I share your sentiments about the PSQ, great Bible but a bit difficult for me to read. Alpha looks good. Might prefer thinline though because of that white space for reading.
Thank you for your kind comment 🙏 the Thinline definitely beats out the Alpha in that regard. I enjoy shorter bibles for compact carry, though, assuming they're also decently thin.
"Subtle elegance" is a great statement. I really prefer the single column of my ESV Heirloom Goatskin. It is a heavy Bible to preach from, but I got it to last the rest of my life. This seems to be one of types of Bibles. Thanks for the review. Appreciate your insight.
I do love the Heritage very much! While heavier, it does have a great 8x5 personal size, so not nearly as cumbersome as many premiums today. I'm sure the Chinese Trutone editions coming out this February will feel pretty light in the hands. Thank you for your kind comment 🙏
@@WontonDisciple I am looking forward to your review of those! From a preaching perspective. I preach from my Heirloom, but it stays on the pulpit the whole time. It is too heavy to walk and talk with :) lol!
@@wajical nope, id never recommend that bible. Bleed through and ghosting is absolutely atrocious, and usually I'm not bothered by that stuff. There's an older edition of the Heritage that they put out in several Trutone and calfskin editions that had slightly smaller line spacing, smaller margins, and was basically a compact single column with similar 9 point font size. I have a video on it, actually
It hasn't, actually, primarily because the Alpha is only offered in the ESV (which is not a translation I use regularly). If the Alpha was offered in other translations, it certainly would be my every day carry over the PSQ.
@@WontonDisciple thank you for your input! What would be your top pick out of the ones in the video for size? I ask since I’m about to buy one for going overseas. Would you get goatskin or be ok with the calf split leather? 😁
@@pollycronopolis7648 if I picked based solely on size, the Pitt is the most novel, most portable, and feels the best in hand. The calfsplit is good and it's thick, but I like the feel of the goatskin overall. You can't go wrong with either. Out of the four, though, the Alpha is definitely my favorite.
