@@devinsampare9483 I was extremely unhappy with GM. In 2020 they had the secret package called the diesel off-road package and it came with 3.73s and mud terrains. I think they were fishing to see if they would have warranty issues. Suddenly in 2022 Max trailering becomes available. Unfortunately the diesel off-road package also included 4 low, Max trailering does not. However. If you want 4 Lo with a 3 l Duramax and max trailering there is a secret. All high countries come with 4 Lo as part of their whole brand image for that trim level thing. So if you order Max trailering on a high country it is the only way in all of GM to get a 3 l Duramax with four low and Max trailering.
There’s a reason I avoided four cylinder turbos for towing. Went with the Pro-4X and towed about 6,000lbs (car and trailer) about 150 miles and it was smooth, never stressed, and did better than I expected. Four cylinders and turbos will just get overworked.
I think you are misrepresenting this video with the title. You are stating that you are towing 15000 lbs but that number is your gross combine rating not that amount you are towing.
Does the LZ0 perform better? I am curious how much the additional power helps. It would be nice to pad the max numbers out a bit. I have the LZ0 in a Sierra 1500 and my truck also maxes out at 15,000lbs GCWR
Not the right video but could you discuss what amount of blow by is considered normal regarding the 3.0 LM2, please? When removing the oil cap while the engine is running, is it normal to see while smoke ?
3:00. The State goes to great expense and concern to mark the BUMP in the road. These signs and markers may be up for several years before the DOT allocates the funds to repair that one bump. Only then can the signage and markers be moved to yet another bump... ☆
Hey, glad to find this channel. Ive been experiencing a similar noise on my 22 sierra at4. If i push down on the left side of my taikgate the whole truck wobbles including the front end, also measured a 3/4 inch height on rear passenger (lower) vs driver (higher)
I just want to be able to tow my 5th wheel travel trailer but I guess I need a 2500 I had one but it broke down now got a 1500 Texas edition 20" tire's I don't know if I can just get better shocks or springs and kind of want to add turbo to it it's a 6.0 V8.
Thanks for the info. I have been looking at a max tow 6.2 at 3.42, so I thought 3.42 was the max tow lackege, but I now see the 3.0 max tow is 3.73. Awesome! Would love that set up on my 3.0! @@duramaxadventures5832
I wouldn't trust a Daramax after one broke down on me twice on the same day after it took all day to fix just to have brake down again after we got home
Sounds like you got a bad one to start with. If they were all that bad, we would be hearing about it all over the place. Since you are not trusting a Duramax, what is your recommended 1500 diesel setup because both Furd and Dudge pulled the plug on theirs.
@@billyyank5334 It's all over RU-vid people having problems with darmax diesel trucks common fuel problems. Ford, Chevy, Dodge the company's all know about it but they don't want to fix it costs to much or don't know how too fix it.
@@billyyank5334 I wouldn't recommend a diesel setup 1500 the next too the towing of a Duramax Diesel. Is what I have now 1500 Chevy Silverado Texas edition 9,000-12,000 pounds. Maybe a trail boss but I think it's lower then the Texas edition less it's the Duramax.
@@billyyank5334 Some the diesel fuel made the fuel injectors bad and fuel pump. One RU-vidr said he was going to Ford because he was tired of fixing the same thing over and over and the dealership mainly just blames the owners. So they don't have to fix it but I seen the same thing with another RU-vidr on a Ford diesel truck oil fuel problem.
Considering this was maxed out and on the hottest day of the year and WOT. No. Wouldn't want to make it a habit but anything under 300 is okay If not ideal.
It’s normal to have issues with LM2, high oil pressure and belt problems …, always going at maximum capacity at high temperatures. Users should never exceed %70 of capacity!
And get rid of the two stage oil pump leave it as a high flow low pressure pump or full pressure all the time. I think it’s a great motor if you will fix these few things and a rubber belt drive oil pump are you kidding me come on you can do better than this !!!!
That could be a great motor of GM would of made it a pickup truck motor not a cab over motor which means all the drive components on the front of motor not the back and all gear drives no chains and a gear drive oil pump. Come on GM make this motor right not a second thought motor so the 3rd Gen fix these things and make it a pickup motor and a bad ass motor at that !!!
234 engine coolant temp, trying to toast that engine? I dont ever push the pedal to the floor on my gasser and she dont go over 200degree, suggest you tuck in behind one of them 18 wheelers
@@duramaxadventures5832 I dunno, temp gauge shows it way up in the red zone. Was down around 212 at lower speed. I would watch the fuel consumption gauge to regulate my speed. Excess fuel burn is just over heating the engine, not making the wheels go round and round
@@enricoderojassarson5596 oh, ya that's because I didn't set the ranges correctly. You can change where the red starts and what not. And noted on the fuel burn. That was the plan if it ever got up to speed.
It would be interesting to see if the PPE aftermarket air intercooler would help make a difference in lowering your EGT’s ? Been thinking about adding one to my 3.0… Nice vid! 👍🏽 Thank you 🙏🏽
Man the oil temp was making me nervous lol. Does gm say thats within normal operating range when fully loading that vehicle and working it 100%? Egts arent bad though, 1200 for that thing pulling the weight its got to pull up a grade at 8k feet. Is this a factory tune ?
Honestly EGT are in control due to the ECM limiting power during sustained loads. That torque request (bottom right corner) is the dynamic tuning. Anything under 100 (at WOT) it's pulling power.
@duramaxadventures5832 yeh just from knowing the 6.6 duramax and working on them daily I wouldn't even bat an eye at 1200. Just the oil temp had me opening my eyes wide. I don't pay attention to torque demand, fueling is a more accurate way . I couldn't see on my screen but your engine fuel rate , what is it measure in ? Mm3?
Are those Gauge an app or after market gauge set up? Good video that oil temp is hot, oil boils at 242 degrees, crazy to hear GM says these temps are ok, EGT’s over 1200 are damaging, oil temp that high is damaging I mean I can’t see how they say 320 degrees is ok for the oil crazy. Thanks for the video
Thanks for the comment. That is with MX OBD link I highly suggest an iDash instead. It's a full synthetic oil. That EGT is pre-turbocharger they're rated for right around 1600F sustained.
What is true then?? Oil definitely starts boiling as low as 240-250 degrees on the low end and 700 on the high end. Coming form the oil manufactures who produce it… @@firstlast---
@@user-jz1pw7rs8z The onset of thermal breakdown is different for every oil. Under high pressure moving quickly through the engine there is no chance oil will start boiling at that temp in those conditions. It won't happen
Not arguing with you. I have seen it boil at lower temps of 300 degrees. Of course every oil is different. Two things that kill motors. Heat and timing. This isn’t something I’m just shooting from the hip on. There is a reason the oil temp was hot, the cooler will only “cool” the oil so much..@@firstlast---
I have a 22 AT4, i only hear the clunking noise at very low speed tight turning, like backing out of my driveway, or making a 3 point turn over bumpy asphault.....
I have a 2022 1500 high country with the max tow package and regularly tow a ATC 2419 gross with all my toys at 10,800lbs. I live in the Pacific Northwest and mainly tow in the mountains and average between 10.5 and 12.5 mpg and I have never had to go below the speed limit except to wait up for a friend towing less weight with a 2007 8.1L. I average 27.5 when not towing, wifes boss has the same truck without the Max tow and gets around 32mpg.
