The design of Ruud is, to me, what really sells the mercenaries as seriously dangerous. Their most heavily armed member, fully clad in near-indestructible armour and wielding a rifle meant for destroying vehicles, turns out to be a frothing lunatic who barely forms coherent sentences outside of gurgling to himself inside his helmet... Best part of the game by a long shot
I always feel a deep sense of anxiety and dread whenever I complete the game. Maybe it's because whatever I do it's never good enough. Maybe I'm talking outta my ass. ELYSIUM.
This is one of those "I cant explain it, you just have to experience it yourself" moments in gaming, explaining the questline will never convey the 28 different emotions I felt
This reminds me of Nighr in the Woods. Kinda fitting, considering the personality of that game's composer. I obviously don't want to throw shit on him or anything. But he was... a character. (He's dead now.)
There is something so masterfully beautiful about this song. It’s both nostalgic and optimistic, depressive and ponderous, there’s just something which really encapsulates the human experience. The sense of moving forward with hope in a broken world.
Suggestion: There's no talking your way out of this one. The mercenaries are blinded by their bloodlust. They only use vengeance as a mask to excuse their need for violence. It is all they are good for and the only place for them in this world. Without it, they would cease to exist. And that is *not* an option for them. I don't know why I love this game, maybe it's because it understands my pain of living so well and intellegently. This game made me finally feel like I just had a long and meaningful talk with someone that understands what I'm going through.

I really love this eh-oo sound every few beats. Reminds me of a stereotypical depiction of an alcoholic, who's drunk so much so quickly, they got hiccups.
