Inglorious Bastards opening scene is actually about 20 minutes long. The script is 20+ pages just for that scene.

The Wachowskis sold the Matrix script in 1994. It certainly wasn't exactly the script that years later made it to the screen, but to pretend that they stole their idea from Dark City is silly.

As of this typing, Marc is the only person to direct a black woman to a Best Actress Oscar win, with Halle Berry in Monster's Ball. Also, for a little over 20 years, with the same win, he was the only person to direct a woman of colour to a Best Actress Oscar win. Not anymore though, as of the Oscars before last when Michelle Yeoh won, and Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert joined him.

You clearly cancelled yourself by being an entitled raging A-hole after HW gave you a big break. Overnight ironically is a masterpiece while BS is just a meh film.

What a great idea. How will this compare to Omoletto presently on RU-vid? By the way, even the big production houses of the 40s and 50s made short films. The showed them before the feature or in between a double features at the cinema. I’ve seen some great “classic” shorts.

I am sooo pumped to hear about the 11 minute rule. In my screenplay, I need to get the reader to page 11 where the hook gets set. The 1st 10 pages are necessary backstory that IMHO would suffer if done as a flashback.

What utter drivel. 2 losers moaning about a company that had the initiative to go out and make money by providing a service. Isn't that what all companies do? Why not have a go at Apple for their overinflated prices on every product or cinema chains for the shit load they charge for tickets and concessions on top of that. Gimme a break and real boys. Grow up.

This is very useful though some stuff may be out of date. Linda is always the best interview because she explains the reasoning behind the platforms' business strategies instead of just stating how its done. Would love to see a 2024 interview with her!

Isn't the Kiefer Sutherland characters name the Proyas' tell of where Dark City came from? Schreiber was a patient of Freud who had many of the delusions that make up the Dark City world and plot.

Also, it’s great conjecture but as an indie filmmaker it’s almost impossible to even REACH any top talent without a bigger budget. How are you supposed to get through the impenetrable wall of the agents and reps??

Okay. At this point let me just highly recommend your PLEASE up the volume of every single guest you have on. Your volume is fine but every guest is like half your volume. So when I turn up the volume to hear the guest, your volume is almost unbearable lol

Those Israeli cousins sure knew how to pitch and to oversell the movies as even trying to get actors who don't appear in principal photography are rough cuts just to get the investors money. They would pocket most of the money between the two of them, and then make the movie with the actor for pennies on the dollar.

William Wyler is the director of Ben Hur that Judy was referring to. She didn’t say Wilder which is a name the interviewer was familiar with so that’s what he heard. I hadn’t heard a “d” in the name so listened more carefully when she said the name the second time. Still no “d” in the last name.
