lol, the Securicor car. It sounds like the type of generic name The Simpsons would have made up for a soulless corporation during the ‘90s when they were still great.
Hard to believe all of them are out of the btcc now, Plato been the last one to call time in after 2022 season, after Matt Neal calling time back in 2020. Shame the btcc is a shadow form of its self now, compared to these days.
I think the next season they binned off the 4x4 system and went either front wheel or rear wheel. but again it sounds like its the same war, with Rear wheel drive, " rear wheel has an advantage" laugh was a front wheel drive that wont champion ship the most and it was mainly a Honda. But the Rear wheel drive only got jumped on because to won the champion ship a couple of times in a row, and a certain driver kept complaining about it, laugh was he would later race in a rear wheel drive!
Its not the BTCC, local councils have a noise limit for their areas - its a lot more restrictive than 110db these days. Snetterton and Silverstone was probably not as restrictive as both tracks are in the middle of nowhere.
Take heed current BTCC. Current era is more like the 80s. In 91 it went simple and it worked massively. Plan for this again and keep the cars simple. Manufacturers will follow.
This is when BTCC car racing was much better, with better normal showroom cars that had been uprated and strengthened unlike todays space frame with a bodyshell type of car as used now
