A great place for classic martial art videos from the vaults of the nationally syndicated Martial Art World television show.

This show was seen nationally from 1988 to 2003 on the Madison Square Garden Network as well as other regional sports networks.

We also have clips from New York's Martial Art Forms which was seen from 1981 to 1987 on Manhattan Cable Channels C, J, 10 and over the air on UHF 63.

Only the boneheaded martial artists put down another martial arts. Their mentality is this is better than that, etc, etc. It's not about which one is better but about what martial arts will impact your life the most. I was a kyokushin and BJJ student, but I have a lot of respect with any martial arts esp. the beauty of TKD. I love their amazing kicks and how I wish I've learned TKD in my younger days. Phillip Rhee is such an amazing actor and martial artist, I'm sure a great TKD instructor as well. I'm just wondering why he didn't get much attention from Hollywood as he's got all the stuff that a successful actor can have (except being Asian, as I believe they don't like Asian lead action star during the 90s)

Mr Whitney was my dad's teacher in Stamford CT...my dad received his BB in 1977...Mr Whitney had the privilege to be Henry Chos student...I always knew my dad's black belt was official the real deal...he always had the best stories about Mr Whitney and those who he trained with and about the time they went into the city to take Henry Chos BB class..I still have his BB certificate kept safe and am so proud of him..Recover in Paradise to my pops and all our loved ones who have passed❤

I just happened to be looking up some classic kung fu movie clips on RU-vid and came across Carter wong again, I never knew he was an actual teacher and had moved to the US etc! What a guy! He was great back in the classic kung fu films, one of the best villains yet he seems so nice here. Cool guy

Bruce Lee vs Professor Vee ??
@iamyournot
@iamyournot Год назад
Rest Peacefully Professor V, the arc of your teaching runs deep, opening the hearts & minds inspiring individual development, your teaching & execution of combative arts is simplicity to the max of effectiveness, is evident in those you have taught or simply had the opportunity to attend your seminars. My introduction came by the way of Master instructor Ralph Mitchell, whose mantra is “Keep it Simple”. My takeaway is that, Simplicity is a foundation to build upon.

Quick query, I wonder if the students back in those days know that the kanji on Carter's shirt is the kanji of 'ninja'...just a thought 🤔😅

I was a student back in 86 Circle of one system in Ridgewood. Trust me, his teachings came in handy living in Bushwick Brooklyn at the time and he really saved a few kids from getting lost in the crack selling era. He was pivotal in my upbringing and can’t thank him enough. I remember Hermes and Hernandez ( I think those are their names). Last time I saw him was when he stopped by the Ponce Hilton, Puerto Rico back in 96. Great, great man.

One of the excellent ways of pushing you pass your comfort zone is the atmosphere master David has when teaching you. This guy is very intimidating. He’s yelling at you. He’s talking in a aggressive voice. He’s moving aggressively. He’s grabbing and punching at you aggressively. Everything he’s doing is creating a fear response in you. You feel a rush of adrenaline at all times in his presence and he teaches you to react in spite of feeling that adrenaline that energy that feeling of nervousness that feeling of wanting to run away and not deal with the situation. It’s an excellent way to teach most schools teach you in a quiet, sanitized environment with things are calm so that once you get in the street, and it’s not like that, you will panic.

He was quick similar to Bruce you can see he was a student and fan of Bruce Lee because he wanted to be like Bruce he eventually got there it looks in this video with the speed and technique he could resemble him. Probably not as quick as Bruce just very similar he had probably about same speed as Mike Tyson had back then.

And I like the movie "Best of the best", because that´s the reason what training I started then.... God bless him... And now I´m starting it all over again.... Master Rhee thank you....
