I also own the HAIX Combat Hero boots. Compared to other AR 670-1boots I have owned, the Combat Hero fits like a dream and is very supportive to the ankle, unlike all those floppy shaft so called boots that are popular in the US military.

This are in coyote. This was there "Tactical" model. I have not tested there predator boot. To my knowledge the Tactical boots are built to a higher quality than the Predators.

I got mine in AIT and have been rocking these boots for almost 7 years now. I’ve had a couple other pairs come along the way to replace them, but I always ended up going back to the Rocky’s just because of how sturdy and comfortable they are. I’ve worn them for every ruck March, every field exercise, and the age shows. The soles are smoothed out and the layer above the sole is starting to show, the rivets are starting to bend out and pop up (I just mash them back down or glue them), and the rubber above the stitching is almost dry rot/chipped away in some places. But they still keep my feet warm, comfortable, and dry for the most part. 10/10 would buy again but I’ll probably still be wearing these ones for the next 3 years

The best shoes I've ever had. Now, after 10 years of use, it's time to buy new ones. Haix Airpower P9 Desert has been in use all year round and the sole is starting to get a little slippery. Otherwise completely intact and functional. I will buy Haix Combat GTX Coyote shoes soon. (equivalent new model) Apparently this Combat Hero is the equivalent model in the American market?! Good day, while I don't have experience with Xero, Altra, or Topo, I can that I believe these have a slightly larger toe box than Rocky boots. I personally wear a standard width boot, but they do have a wide option as well.

I never saw the point in weighted vests. A ruck is a lot more practical and can be used for things besides fitness training. If you need ballistic plates, you need real ones.

@@TheEvolvingWarfighter I mean while I do agree with you, you kind of sound slightly like umm, I don't want to say pompous but I wasn't really trying to correct you or go back n fourth anout anything just to lyk. I was just putting in an opinion! So that vest that I use to take my dog on hikes and walks. She's a husky shepherd mix so she likes her long walks! N gives me a workout! To be honest I do agree with you but I didn't get this vest to be bulletproof! I got it more for physical health reasons. I was in a bad accident and broke my hip near my knee. My tibia and my fibula along with facial trauma and ankle fracture!! So I hate bringing my problems into a simple conversation but that's why I use the vest. Long story short is to strengthen my leg again. I know there's plenty better ways but this is what I had for my younger brother who doesn't use it anymore, etc.... So now I can see how helpful or rucksack can have or be I should say because of everything able to be fit in it. And things tied to it or hanging off of it are all can be life-saving tools etc it's just I don't know. I've just have grown used to walking with 50 lb evenly. Waited on my chest and back and it has helped a lot with gaining more mobility back in my ankle, hip and leg in general! I can totally see what you are talking about though. It's just still to this day I walk with like a slight limp especially once I pass like the 3 mi marker. And yeah whoever wants to laugh can laugh and say " I could do that in my sleep etc" I'm honestly just trying to get back to like 75% would be awesome. I can never run again although I try and is very hard to like even shoot a basketball when I used to be able to drain threes without even looking. It just sucks. This all came from getting a car with someone who was inebriated and crashed while I was in the car and broke my hip, tibia, fibula, pelvis, lacerations all over my face, and also on my arms and my ankle! Sorry for the long response. Kind of venting my my anger towards the person driving who I quickly cut out of my life. He conveniently you walked away with a bruise on his chest and a cut on his forehead. So but yeah that's mainly why I use it
@TheEvolvingWarfighter
@TheEvolvingWarfighter Год назад
I wasn't trying to be pompous. To each his own. I just know I have had the police called on me several times for just walking down a trail because of my appearance. I couldn't imagine the negative attention I would get in my area walking around in a plate carrier. I understand your use but still think most would be better off with a ruck.

Would you recommend the S2V or the Lowa Zephyrs? Full disclosure. I am not active duty or in the military. Civilian whos passionate about these footwear. Usage would be occasional runs around town, and for occasional hikes. Looking to use these for the next 2-3 years.
@TheEvolvingWarfighter
@TheEvolvingWarfighter Год назад
I am afraid I have no experience with Lowa. The Rocky S2V is a good boot for general use. They should hold up well. Another similar boot to consider that might be slighty more durible is the Haix Combat Hero (around $185 on Amazon). The Haix might be a better idea for longterm use as they can be resoled. (Working on my review on them this coming weekend). The Rocky S2V line cannot be resoled.

Cool video! I noticed you gave this a #short in the title but youtube shorts have to be in portrait or square. You could always rotate the frame 90⁰ or crop it to a square or just put the landscape frame in the centre of a portrait frame. Hope that helps for your next short?
@TheEvolvingWarfighter
@TheEvolvingWarfighter Год назад
Appreciate the feedback. This was the first time I attempted a shorter format.
@pdtech4524
@pdtech4524 Год назад
@@TheEvolvingWarfighter You can either film a short in portrait, then in your editor import it into a portrait project, I make mine 1080x1920. Or you can drop a landscape video in a portrait project. RU-vid even accepts a square video as a short format. Experiment with it and you'll figure out what works for you. It has to be less than 1 minute also. I've had some good viewing figures on my short videos, youtube seems to push them more at the moment! Which is very annoying, I can spend hours working on a long format video for it to get less than 100 views. Then I can put zero effort into making a short video and it gets 1000s of views! 😲😁
@TheEvolvingWarfighter
@TheEvolvingWarfighter Год назад
RU-vid is playing on the current lack of attention spans. I will have to figure out what I can fit in a minute. Might have to play with famous quotes as even Stoic poems tend to be too long.
@pdtech4524
@pdtech4524 Год назад
@@TheEvolvingWarfighter Even a minute is pushing some peoples attention span! I generally aim for much less, 20-40 seconds seems to be a sweet spot. Hope some of this helped? It confused me when I first started using the shorts feature I'm not the biggest fan of filming in portrait but if it pleases the algorithm and generates traffic and views, I'll make an exception. 👍😁

If you're _not_ a military member, the S2V come in a "predator" version. The S2V predators are better than the normal S2V's in every way, _except_ they're not AR670-1 complaint. Because of this, there's less demand, and they cost a LOT less, even though they're more feature rich. (Some of those features make them non complaint.) Same reason Crye is so expensive. You're paying for compliance and a contract name.
