My budget ML rifle was shooting about 4 inches at 50 yards. I used a wad over my powder, and it came down to 1 inch. Now all I need to do is a ladder test, and buy better sights.

I get around 2,500 ft pounds, pretty darn amazing. Of course that's muzzle, but still.

I wonder about that peep sight, the way you shoot, man. I got that same rifle 30yrs ago, accurate as heck, but what you can do with a round ball is very good. You're right, most shooters have no idea what they're missing. They teach you ballistics, are fun and effective enough.

Ten grains of Farina cereal on top of the powder prevents the lube from your patch containing the round ball invading the main charge.Same sort of patch saving method and accuracy is improved.

I used aeroshell anti seize. Had it on hand for ar builds. Its for the barrel nut, and on flash hiders. Holds up to alot of heat.

Never had thar happen,excwpt i ve used a thin atch.normal patches never .but if it works for you thats fine.hornet or wasp best works fine also

In over 40 years of shooting muzzleloaders, I've never used an over powder patch,and my patches have never come out looking like your tattered patches. You need to change the material you're using for your patches. This over powder patch fad is a bunch of whooeey.

I have never use a over powder patch. You are using to hot of a load, if your patch is that bad, cut the amount of power back you are using per shot.

Well i have the same rifle and is not acutate like you say , yes acurate at 30 yards yes , 3"of center at 50 yards 8"of center at 100 yards i have two rifles hawken 45,renegade 50 cal both same change powder patces size balls to conical move sights same thing
