Some of the smartest guys in drag racing that you could learn from are the old guys who race Super Stock. They are extremely limited on what is allowed as far as modifications, stock heads, stock intake manifold, and some of these cars are running 8’s. So they have to be extremely smart to find power and make the car go fast. Heads up racing can be fun when you have endless pockets. This is what hindered import racing in the very beginning. It was all heads up with no index racing. Happy to see that they finally have index racing so people can build a car for the class. It allows more people to enter the sport instead of heads up racing where you have self funded people going up against guys with huge sponsorships.
It’s all about your combination. Most people think buying the biggest most expensive parts makes you fast. You need the right combination, from cam lift and duration, to gear ratios all the way down to tire size. They all must complement each other.
Dave, you seem like a smart dude. So what I mean by THIS is did you do like other reputable companies in America and have SKUNK 2 products made overseas. NO HATE, NO NOTHING. BUT my EM1 build was outfitted with EVERYTHING you guys made for it and the QUALITY WAS NOT that good. Sticking throttle body ,Alpha rad falling apart etc. Rattles in the S2 cat back. So HAD to go SpeedFactory and Ktuned.
Part of the past few videos was to literally just LEARN SIMPLE THINGS, THE BASIC THINGS, THE COMPLEX THINGS ETC. OF BUILDING AN ENGINE. ANY ENGINE and grasp concepts from other engines, 2 stroke biker engine V8/6/ even the v12. this is what he means, All motor is going to go backwards because people aren’t asking the deeper questions needed to advance in All motor. Everyone wants a simple yes or no answer. Do the calculations! Some are so simple. I could be wrong though, just my 2 cents, can’t wait for the next episode!
Not backwards, but people want to copy and paste the next “fast” guy. But little do they know he could be a copy and paste too. So how can we advance in all motor if everyone is copying the same recipe?

all good things have to come to an end some day, but this was great listening. Very glad it wasn't too watered down, in fact, it's a shame that so many of the knowledge bombs will only ever have a small voice. Rather than be consumers in the traditional sense, buying things and waiting for things to buy, maybe embrace being consumers of knowledge. White papers on technology that powered WWII are gold.
