I should also say that Steven Spielberg's JURASSIC PARK is the BEST movie of all time, and James Mangold's LOGAN is the BEST superhero movie of all time. Oh, and I'm Canadian.
uffff....almost in tears. Just saw a community production of RENT last night where I live. its still so moving, even after all these years and having seen it handfuls of times. And to see Jonathons story come alive like this today...its just so beautiful. You words are very meaningful too thanks for a well thought out video.
I FULLY AGREE WITH YOU ON THIS MOVIE .....AND THE NEXT TWO AS WELL. PERFECT, AT LEAST FOR ME. AND SINCE I HAVE MY OWN 4K THEATER EXPERIENCE WHERE I LIVE, THERE ARE 4K DISKS OF SPECIFIC MOVIES I AM HAPPY TO HAVE IN MY MEDIA LIBRARY.. FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE.
I liked how it showed how some people needed Cobra Kia to make them more balanced, while others needed Miyagi to bring them balance THEN goes on to show what happens when they go to far.
NWH: Spidermam Unmasked (Mysterio unmasks Peter) Death of Gwen Stacy (Goblin kills Aunt May) One Moment In Time (Memory Erasure) Amazing Fantasy #15 (Responsibility) Spider-Verse (Tom, Tobey and Andrew)
I always theorized since the moment he appeared in the Force Awakens that Snoke was nothing more than a puppet in a greater plan. Whereas Darth Sidious was much more subtle in terms of manipulation, Snoke was so much less subtle. Look at the golden robe, the big red curtain, and the way he so casually uses force lightning to hurt Kylo Ren, and his utterly overt vicious remarks towards him. I have a feeling that he probably was tricked more easily just because he was indulging in his ego. Darth Sidious probably knew EXACTLY what he was doing when he created Snoke. A puppet to be used so that he could cast aside to make the route for his own return easier.
People have complained about when the movie cuts away from the airport scene after Godzilla shows up, but this video perfectly explains why it wouldn’t have worked if they did show it. If they did, it would have made the final act far less impactful and epic. Gareth Edwards definitely made the right choice with the slow burn approach. Sometimes it’s better to take your time and build up to a great pay off, instead of just throwing action set prices at the screen constantly.
This is legit everything I've ever wanted to say about this film, you nailed everything I love about this movie. I've had the strangest obsession with this movie despite hating musicals and have rewatched it so many times, but nobody really understands why I love it so much. I watched this movie when I was at a point where I had wanted to go to med school all my life and was in my second year of university. I was doing great still just not up to the incredible standard to get into med school and on top of that I realized how incredibly unhappy I was and all the things in my life I had grown to neglect and failed to appreciate. This movie also made me realize the importance of experiencing failure, the important question of are you being led by fear or by love. That's when it really hit me, I didn't love the idea of going to med school and becoming a doctor, it was just because that was something big to strive for and I feared never being seen as enough. This movie taught me so much and for that reason it will always hold a special place for me.
Are you familiar with the Jonathan Parsons it's a collection of unreleased demo only Larson song's recorded by professional Broadway actor's m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h1VPcBFmypw.html&pp=ygUXam9uYXRoYW4gbGFyc29uIHByb2plY3Q%3D
I absolutely love this movie. It’s in my list of favorites concerning Godzilla, and I’m always glad to see it getting positive attention. I appreciate the monsterverse for what it has become, but honestly there’s something so special about 2014 that’s been lost with the other films, in my opinion.
It reminds me a bit of Finding Neverland about JM Berrie's journey to create the classic Peter pan and all the struggles that went with that only to a lesser extent only I feel like Finding Neverland accomplished the complete opposite of Tik TIk Boom
I'm glad to hear from someone as touched as I was by this film. Sadly, i made the mistake of watching it with my judgemental mother who criticized Mrs Fabelman at every turn! Hahaha But I spoke my mind on this beautiful and touching piece, because it is nuanced, and it is kind to his past. I wish I had seen this in the theater and hadn't put off watching it for so long. What a wonderful film!
Even though The incredibles has grown to be an absolute favorite of mine I however have to admit that Toy Story 2 especially has the heart that Disney in general is lacking these days all because of a politician of a CEO knew how to play dirty and almost single handedly ruined this entire company in a mere 2 1/2 years that’s quite an accomplishment for all of the wrong reasons not to mention they ousted the cream of the crop all because of sex and pigment as though other traits don’t exist. Beyond Sex or Pigment. It’s a shame really.
Also I would like to make it clear that I was only a 1 year old when this movie came out and I watched Toy Story and Toy Story 2 on loop which in many ways is I refuse to call Lightyear a Toy Story spinoff because it wasn’t made authentically but to stick it to Florida.
The airdrop descent into the city is amazing. Buuut there was a huge missed opportunity. The airdrop was visually like going into hell. So later while the monsters fight everything should have been bathed in red light from all the fires. Instead of the strangely underlite action. The whole going to hell theme could have had a pay off.
To me Andy is the most inconsistent character on how much I like them in The Office. I think Andy is sort of a Proto-Michael Scott. He is sort of the obnoxious character type similar to Michael in Season 1 but with elements of Dwight's annoying coworker archetype thrown in. So he was supposed to be annoying and disliked, and the butt of jokes. But in many ways since he's a mini-Michael it really fits that he is a rival to Dwight. Also, I think to the audience too Ed Helms has a similar comedy background to Steve Carrell so they subconsciously fit well in behavior. So I think it made sense to have Andy replace Michael as manager when Steve left. I think his character growth culminating as manager fit very well. But the writers really screwed over his character in the end, but I do think in the end his post-Office epilogue is very humanizing. He made mistakes and keeps going.
I'm honestly sick and tired of people keep saying that 2014's "GODZILLA" is the worst MonsterVerse movie. MORE LIKE THE BEST MONSTERVERSE MOVIE. now I know that toxic Godzilla fanboiz will start to say bullshit like this: "wElL, aT lEaSt iN G:kOtM aNd gVk wE dO SeE tHe MoNsTeRs FiGhTiNg EaCh OtHeR"... "WeLl, At LeAsT g:KoTm AnD gVk ArEn'T sO DaRk"... "wElL, aT lEaSt ThErE's MoRe FaN sErViCe iN g:KoTm AnD gVk"... AT LEAST G14 HAS A MUCH BETTER CGI. AT LEAST G14 HAS A MUCH BETTER VISUALS. AT LEAST G14 HAS A MUCH BETTER DRAMA. AT LEAST G14 HAS A MUCH MORE MATURE ACTING. AT LEAST G14 HAS A MUCH BETTER SET (Nothing beats a real set). AT LEAST G14 HAS A MUCH BETTER DESIGNS. AT LEAST THE FILMMAKING OF G14 IS 10X MORE PROFESSIONALLY DONE. AT LEAST THE GIANT-MONSTERS OF G14 FEELS LIKE ACTUAL GIANT-MONSTERS. Nuff said.
Henry Cavil's superman to me has more of maturity, physical and relatability than Christopher's Superman. Man of Steel in my opinion is the greatest Superman ever made not to take away from the incredible depiction by Christopher and awesome script of original Superman, MoS to me is simply on another level in turns of different take on Superman in more of modern take, storytelling, emotional connections, Zack Snyder's amazing action sequences, original scores, visual and inspiration for hopes representing by Man of Steel. Man of steel magnified how selfless is like by some of the characters throughout its storytelling mark the purpose and belief come to made what Superman is becoming and about. Man of Steel had successfully transform the typical superman feel into more of contemporary and fill with more of meaning and purpose for the character! Oh, Michael Shannon's villain role in general Zod was fantastic as well and the final battle scene where Superman has to make the toughest choice of his life to kill the only other Kryptonian left in the universe in order to save vulnerable human family stamp his no kill mentality. Imagine a man with his super power but has no concern for killing...that is what make superman the greatest superhero, he realized that he can easily kill anyone in the universe, but he has the ultimate choice to NOT DO SO! That is what Man of Steel my greatest pick for all Superman movies, the true purpose of superman was beautifully shown throughout the movie.
I will never forgive Dave Filoni for undoing TO Grievous what Genndy did FOR Grievous. Clone wars in general was just so well done; I feel it better portrayed the actual feeling of war in the galaxy better than almost any other SW media ever has. Every battle feels visceral and kept me on the edge of my seat, and even does so each time I rewatch it. Genndy also is just a wonderful world builder and did an excellent job at making SW feel like a completely different universe compared to our own.
I understand why Lucas did the clone wars again... he obviously knew that there was more story to tell when it came to Anakin's downfall, the clones, etc. But even then, I wish several aspects of this original series were brought over into the new one.
this video lists so many key reasons as to why this movie is my favorite movie ever! its so good, and by the end of the movie it had me in tears. my favorite song is the last one (louder than words) if you listen to the lyrics, then you might realize that song has topics we can all relate to. thank you, jonathon larson :)
I think the Mcu spider man trilogy is the most relatable to me i relate alot to a great little kid childhood and then a complicated adult - teen life no one thinks they'll have a bad life ever but it does happen just have to like spiderman - never give up!
Wow that was a great video and explanation! It reminds me of all the reasons why I loved F5 and saddens me to see where it has come with the latest Fast X.
It is sad they now hit up another notch in action and story telling. I wish they keep the world more grounded similar to mission impossible as you mentioned.
It's the one FAST AND FURIOUS movie that balances the grounded nature of the first film with the bombastic action that the franchise has become known for. It's why no other film in the franchise can touch it...
