Wait u can change the voltage and power draw from the BIOS 😳. If your CPU mining I’m guessing your trying to under clock as much as possible to save every but have the same hash rate. Ima try installing HIVEOS on my little Micro 7070 HP and mess with the settings ! And damm rip that motherboard might of gotten some thermal paste in the connectors after it heated up. What power rating is your pico VS power needed to run that setup? Also, out of 20 picos I’ve used, I’ve had 5 dead right out of the box. Most of the brands have horrible and sketchy soldering jobs on them. Always good to buy plenty of extras if you really want to use them. If you plan to run 1 cpu, it’s kind of not needed.

as a experinced tech if you twist you're ryzen cpu. it wont come up when you remove the cooler, you have to break the bond never had a issue since I learned that.
The Pico PSU is most likely the culprit, taking your motherboard along with it... I'm fairly certain; I must have pulled my cpu off the socket like that 20x and even put my motherboard in a dishwasher using Dawn soap, but the only thing that killed it was the unregulated voltage and/or voltage spike; it was for content back during the ethereum mining craze; those were the days.
I was replacing the cooler on a co-workers computer and that exact same thing happened to me. I use intel cpu's for my computers so I was not aware that this could happen with an AMD socket. I too got lucky with the pins but it freaked me out for a sec.
you dont need to bridge every time you need to turn it on look for AC power on something in your MB bios , this will turn on with the psu without bridge
Set the AC Power ON in bios and you no longer need a power switch. Good stuff as always. Those motherboards just don't have all the bells and whistles but I think you got about as much out of it as possible.
The real trick would be to use this cpu miner to run a gpu rig. You'd essentially save the system power because of the little tiny income. The cpu draws power in a gpu rig anyways, so may as well mine on it! I recently amalgamated my gpu rigs in groups of 12 cards per rig to help save on hiveos fees. Adding in the 5900x cpu on verus coin seems good so far on each rig and no issues except load average is higher and I had to set up the hashrate watchdog to keep it from rebooting due to that.
@ModernMiningHub the pico psu obviously would not be able to power it all by itself - just its input cable thickness makes it impossible at 12V - try to get a pcie to cpu power adaptor and power the cpu 8 pin from a pcie 6 or 8 pin from your server/atx psu Number of ram sticks only matter with random x algos (worth to mention imo) I'd try to reflash the bios with the on board button (I think there should be I got a similar board just might be the v2 version) it can sometimes save the board if there's no physical damage - I just got back an msi b550 which just stopped working after a couple weeks mining very very undervolted (3900x 90w from wall 11.5kh) if you have not tried it on your board I would definitely give that a shot Reverse the board on the stand so it has it's center of gravity at the bottom (safe imo, also the rgb will be more visible and looking better imo) also the fan so it (at least a little bit) pulls some air from the vrm cooler After testing with hiveos I had a lot better results just using Ubuntu server and complied my own miner - few percent better hashrates, few percent lower wattage, no fee P.s. I'm relatively new to cpu mining too, I can be wrong too ofc but I'd look into these if you'd like to get the most out of it
@@ModernMiningHub 1st pico psu: don't expect that to be able to handle a ryzen cpu if your think about it the pico's input cable's awg is not enough to handle 130W at 12V, get a pcie to cpu power adapter and use a separate pcie output on your server/atx psu to power the cpu's 8pin
@@ModernMiningHub 2nd b450, hey I think ripping off and AM4 cpu from the socket is pretty much a standard thing if you happen to work with AM4 cpus, it happened to me many times, once even when I tried twisting it out - ever since then I'm trying to preheat with stress test if possible, anyways try to inspect the cpu socket on your b450 if it seems to be okay try to flash a new bios to it with the bios flashback button - I just managed to get back a similar b550 board back to life, hopefully it will help you too
Dual ram always better for randomx. Size not important, 2x8GB sticks is fine. Make sure to enable xmp profile. For tuning just use base clock and keep lowering voltage on the core until it crashes then bump it up a notch. On 5900X I manage 13KH@125w 7900x3d does around 16.5kh@130w
Everything you said and also don't forget to find your minimum RAM voltage too, it's usually way lower than the default 1.35V, it will save you a couple of watts. BTW, for comparison, I've got a dozen of 3900's (non-X), I run them at 3.4 GHz and on randomx (with RAM 3200 CL16) they do 12.1 kH@118W. Interestingly even though the 3900 has base clock of 3.1, when I tested clock speeds between 3.1 and 3.7 GHz, 3.4 turned out to be the most efficient (by a few %), for some strange reason.
@ModernMiningHub in your miner config at the bottom there is an option to choose the miner fork. It seemed to work regardless, but I always select the zephyr fork.
..there is no HiveOS.iso ...only HiveOS.img ?..not sure if it will work with ventoy to installation to many harddrive...only by this way for now ..but is it safe to mine accumulate directly into an exchange address like tradeogre..?

Glad you did a CPU build I have 3 of my own dual mining KCN/LCN but if you think about it in a couple of months do a good video on maintenance for the rig please. I noticed mine has really built up dust in the garage on the cooler and fans. Thanks as always! Great content. You should be able to get about .24 cents a day with this merge mine vise .14 cents with about 65 watts

Idk how much that thing was but For that fan issue , you could have also used IFTT to do that as well. Just with ur current Govee thermometer and a smart plug , IFTTT would tell it IF temp goes to 80 turn on fan. If tempt goes to 60 turn off fan . I love IFTT. But great video ! How are you able to move the whole farm? How do you deal with powering all of them without tripping breakers? Can you do a quick walk through of your power setup? I’d love to have my rigs all together but they are all over the house right now to spread out power draws
For safety when using a knife to open things up ALWAYS and I do mean ALWAYS cut AWAY for yourself that way less risk of harming yourself. That is my PSA for today, be safe everyone.
