After two years of building my overlander Defender 110 HT named 'Prowler', which I documented on my FB page, it's finally time to travel and share my experiences with you.
I would like to make it as interesting as possible, so moving away from simple video clips and heading towards videoblog. You will find content in a form of travel journals, showing the daily struggles during my trips, beautiful views captured with various techniques - both video and timelapse - drone, handheld, slider, special cams - combined with pleasant music and informative voiceovers on top of it.
Over time, I plan to share my tips on modifications that ensure comfort and safety while traveling alone, equipment tests and comments on what worked and what did not.
If you have any comments, write in the comments section. If you like what I do, please like, subscribe, show support with "Super Thanks" and share this channel with others.
Alright, I am sold. Personally I lean towards several longer clips with voice over narrating your experience, but I guess to start you should upload the two versions so you can tell which is getting more traction.
Great! Seems you liked it? 😉 You have chosen third option that was not existing before - several longer clips instead of several shorter and one long, but you may be right - I can combine few in one from a certain region and make it around 10-15min. The option with voice over and without is also on the table. That is quite easy and not requires much more work except re-rendering 🤗
I wojld be even happy if you continue as you alteady did. Your videos are inspiration for my next trip to turkey next year where I will cross the balcab teo times as well. Keen to see the next one
I will be providing standard videos as usual. But exploring new possibilities as well and this is just a result of those explorations 🤗 When do you leave for Turkey? I plan to edit my footage from Georgia first - but maybe should start with last year mTurkey? 😅
@@OffRoadProwlerI just came back from my 8 week trip through 12 Countries, 12000 km down to Kemaliye in Turkey. The plan is to start next year in june crossing the balcan, greece and turkey again and from there include georgia. I even would go further but maybe I‘m a bit to old now. But we will see what will happen. My mind is open and the rig is been prepped and enhanced for the next trip. Another idea is going on a short 9 day trip through slovenia or the western alps ba mid of september 2024
Great plans! Old but plenty of time it seems! 😅 12 weeks is dream for me! But not soon I’m afraid. You will love Balkans. And Georgia. So I will edit Georgia first 😉
There will be „normal” series as well - but I really encourage everyone to experience the VR! This is the closest to the real experience on site - like you were there with me! 💪🏻🤩
I have seen some of your films more than once. Especially when I feel like it's time to set off again, but unfortunately it's not possible, I "let you take me on a journey". The way you describe things like a sunrise, or even just how it sounds, when the wind blows through the grass on a plateau, often gives me the feeling of being there too... And then there's your precise and detailed information about the places and regions you're traveling in, the wonderfully edited video sequences... simply brilliant! But I always have mixed feelings about the epilogue to your Dinaric Alps overland trip, because I know how it ends. With Kira, you've lost a companion who is probably second to none. Every time I see the last pictures, my throat tightens and I have to think of all the furry friends, that have accompanied me on my journey through life, since early childhood. Each of them was unique in their own way and I never compared them to one another. At the moment I have two Alaskan Malamutes accompanying me through my life, Manouk for 11 years and Dhara for almost 8 years. Although both are absolutely fit and healthy as far as I can tell, I know that the day will come when I have to say goodbye to them... It certainly doesn't make it any easier for you to know that others feel the same way as you, but no one can take away the adventures as well as the quiet moments you had with Kira. Though she passed away a while ago, for people like you, companions like Kira leave deep paw prints in the heart and in the memory, they are still there, to comfort you, or make you laugh, even in dark hours...
Oh man - so beautifully written - and so right. I do miss Kira and it was a different experience to travel together, but as you say - she is always with me in my heart and focusing on „I wish she was here” doesn’t make any sense as it doesn’t help in experiencing places I go. I also know that one day new furry friend will join me again 🤗 I’m very, very happy you like the way I edit my footage and the description of your emotions is the best reward for the hard work it takes to put it all together. And it gives me a good energy to continue as sometimes I just don’t feel like sitting in the editing software anymore 😅 If you want to be transferred even deeper to my travels wait a bit - there will be VR footage from last trip - it will require VR googles (I recommend Meta Quest 3 as it has the best quality in this price range) - it will take you directly into the place I was - I think it is a really new experience so I encourage you to check it when uploaded! Thank you once again 🙏🏻 Really appreciate the comment and the time you spent writing this honest review ☺️
@@OffRoadProwler thank you for your preliminary information and the tip about the Googles, I'll take a look at the parts... although sometimes, when I listen to your descriptions and close my eyes, I can see in my mind's eye what you're describing. It helps, of course, that during the years I drove in various off-road competitions in Romania, I drove over such plateaus myself and saw similar things. For our trip to Albania last year, I bought myself a 360° camera, unfortunately I must have adjusted something wrong, so that the bottom edge of the case is visible in practically all the shots... I'm particularly sorry about the shots I took while swimming and wading through the Osum Canyon. We'll see, maybe it will work better on the next trip - practice makes perfect...
Why are you putting SO MUCH text on your thumbnails? It really stops a lot of people clicking on your videos resulting in a really low view count.. Keep exploring and thanks for all the content, but please consider upgrading your "thumbnail-game" with fewer text 😃 (I think it will result in more views) Best regards from another Defender Travel-Couple 😊
Well - first - because I thought it would be ok to let people know what are the places O visit and second - because I hate those titles that „shout out” from the thumbnails 😅 But I may try to stick to pictures only and see what will happen Thanks! 🙏🏻💪🏻 And stay safe 🤗
@@OffRoadProwler i really appreciate your ability to take well-meant criticism 🙏🏼 Good luck with the next generation of thumbnails, i would be really happy if this will help to motivate the youtube algorithm broacasting your videos to a wider audience 🍀👊🏼
Incredible video! Thank you so much for using choosing my Bronco and camping gear for your epic adventure. Anyone that mentions this video to me when renting my Bronco will get 10% off the Ultimate Camping Bundle 😊 It can be found on Turo and Outdoorsy
Hello...i love your video, i'm from Maramures, Sighetu Marmatiei, you video shows the beauty of our country, next time write me to show you more beautiful places in Maramures county, i have a nissan patrol, we can travel together..chears !
Thanks! 🙏🏻 To be honest Bronco is great! I had it last year and decided to take it also this year. Performance-wise it is surprisingly capable! And the soft top also adds some color to the travels 🤗
Thanks! Will think about it - 4K requires much more processing power and while I shoot in 4K mostly it gives me the possibility to zoom-in in some scenes while keeping the timeline in HD. 🤗
Great video again thanks for sharing your wonderful travel memories and beautiful videos with us all your over landing friends . Cheers from Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A. :) 🌎🍻😁👍🏼
Hello. I agree with Johnsky1975's impression. Nicely presented video. Keep it up. Today I am going with my daughter to a travel lecture about the National Parks of America. Today on paper maybe next year in reality. Best regards, Boris.
Thanks Boris! How was your lecture? Did you get inspired enough to visit those places one day? Highly recommended if you are after such landscapes - and there is plenty of trails you could explore too! Take care! 💪🏻
Hello. The lecturer visited San Francisco, Yosemite NP, Sequoia NP, Death Walley NP, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon NP, Monument Walley NP and Yellowstone NP. He was returning to San Francisco via Seattle and the National Olympic Park. A wonderful 24 days. The decision has already been made, New York in the fall - city wandering, for now. Main holiday Turkey. Last year in September, my girlfriend and I went to North Macedonia. I believe that you would find many off road routes there. All the best. Boris.
@borissintler4616 both destinations remarkable - NY and Turkey - I’m sure you will love it! Macedonia sounds interesting- no plans for summer yet on my side but hopefully I will wander somewhere at least for three weeks 😅
Thanks for your hard work composing this video. It's really an art knowing what to include and what to edit out. It had me revisiting many memories of my trip through death valley more than a decade ago. You visited many intriguing places i missed on my visit. I'll have to go back soon.
Thanks for appreciation 🙏🏻 I agree - it is easy to shoot all those beautiful terrains as whenever you look there is something amazing to capture, but to create a story from many captured clips is something different 🤗 Glad I made it in an entertaining way. And happy it has inspired you to come back! It is truly great place to explore! 💪🏻☺️
My friend you have seen more of our country then most of us locals or at least people that come from those areas! Amazing footage & narration as always. Thank you for taking the time to do this
I am so sorry to her of the loss of Kira, there is nothing like the pain of loosing mans best friend,I'm sure you keep many memories of happy times spent together.😢
What a sad news, we loved watching Kira running in all of your trips . I can understand the emptyness . One of the best videos i've watched...nevertheless, this is a heartbreaking vidéo. Cheers and Take care.
Wow so sad to learn of KIRA passing . She always reminded me of my husky NAKITA when ever I saw her in your awesome videos traveling with you . and made me smile of fond memories shared over landing together . You will always have great memories of her . Even as we all keep on living with out there great and happy life’s in are life’s . CHEERS to a great dog that even made people from other parts of the world smile when seeing her over landing in your spectacular videos . Thanks again for sharing your travel memories and adventures with us all your over landing friends . From Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A. :) 🐕:):( 🍻👍🏼.
Dear Simon, I am really sorry to hear that Kira will be no longer with you on your next trip. The love they give us is so pure and it is so unconditional that once lost, we feel the emptiness in our soul. Be strong my friend, you are doing such a great job with your video, they are stunning and amazing 💪💪💪
Another great adventure video . Always enjoy your travel videos very much . And being a Land Rover fan love seeing yours flexing along some off road track , or even just set. Up camping . Cheers and thanks again for sharing your wonderful journey with us your over landing friends . Cheers from Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A. :) :🐕 . 🍻👍🏼😁
Spoko. Klip jak zawsze milo sie ogląda. Zdjęcia z tele k. Livno sztos. Miejsce unikalne.
@@OffRoadProwler /one Last episode ! / ...what a nonsense ! You've made hundreds of People like me dreaming of overlanding 😁 and your work is really brillant. But first of all take care of you in a first time . Be sure That we're Wating for you in France whenever you want ! Why not the famous ...Salon de Valloire, generally in August ? Cheers.
I meant “last episode of that series”! I still have lots of footage from US and Turkey to edit so no worries - there will be more to watch 😅 And thanks for invitation! Who knows what future brings 🤗 Cheers! 💪🏻🙏🏻☺️
To jest najlepsza reklama land rovera i turystyki off road jaką można sobie wyobrazić! Zdjecia i montaż genialne. Komentarz nienachalny. Nic dodać nic ując. Trafiłem tu przypadkiem szukając właśnie takiego kontentu. Co za miła niespodzianka. Pozdrawiam sąsiada z Ryżowej!
Can't stop saying amazing and beautiful landscape looks unreal that place on the mountain and the music just perfect with the filming, beautiful tracks too bad you have to go back congratulations for your journey and your work doing the videos amazing 👏👏👏👏👏💪💪
Cześć! 🤓🤜🏻🤛🏻🖐🏻 Film klasa! A od papieroska w noc księżycową do poranka we mgle to już kosmos. Ujęcia z drona petarda. Gratuluję filmu! Oscar podróżniczy 🏆
Having got a 2.2ltr Ford SD4 engine in my Freelander I know what the fuel consumption is like and I’m not going off road carrying my home with me So do you have a long range fuel tank for your TD5 or do you use Jerry Cans to carry your extra fuel as there are not a lot of filling stations on your trips Great trips by the way , Iv binged watched your back catalogue and great cinematography
