I help content creators learn Fusion and DaVinci Resolve to make motion graphics and visual effects. If you like the way I teach, I have in-depth Fusion and Resolve courses at www.groundcontrol.film
My company also presents RESOLVECON - Which brings a TON of Resolve RU-vid Teachers together in one jam-packed nerd weekend. More info: www.resolvecon.com
You are the best fusion teacher, hands down. I follow your lessons for years now and never saw one bad lesson. Thank you for all your hard work, brother! Blessings and prosperity to you.
Excellent explanation! However, it is a little overbearing with long-winded analogy sidesteps. Feels like it is aimed at brain dead audience, but the fact is, brain dead is not going to be interested in this sort of knowledge. Could have a better pace without these otherwise outstanding regurgitating of the obvious. I often fall into the same pit of excessive explaining every simple concept in my area of expertise. We both have to learn to keep it short and focus on the matter without extra fluff. Otherwise, our audience looses interest quicker than teenage girls change their dresses, and others skip over the vid being intimidated by it's duration.
Ive come to the conclusion that NO TUTORIAL ADVISOR knows "where" auto save files, project files and backups are kept...why because in no "Beginners Guide" does anyone know the basic file structure... in Premier its simple, absolute walk in the park... In Davinci a NIGHTMARE... nowhere to go for auto saved files and just click open!!!
Everything is listed in project settings. The cache directories etc. The project files are saved to the database, which you can get to by right clicking on your library name in your project manager. Also a quick Google for any of these qs will give you the default directories on Mac or windows. :)
Casey, you are a gem! I used all of this info yesterday and my world just expanded ten fold. You understand your subject so well that you are able to share you insights so logically and efficiently that it is actually a pleasure to learn. I am so grateful to you for these tutorials and wish you the very best in your endeavours. 🙏
Thank you for the video, just switching from Filmora to Davinci and found it amazing but a lot to learn. Thanks for this great video. Hopefully my videos will look better with your help and Davinci. By the way, a quick question? Do I need to still use titles for creating educational text on a whiteboard or a solid colour template? by the way I subscribed to see you grow (and learn more of course)! If you can create a video for new youtubers like myself with faceless and educational videos (not so much footage, but a lot of text), that will be great! Looking forward to it! Struggling to fill in the screen.
I just updated to 19.0.1 and my playback is terrible now. Have you experienced this or do you know the reason or how to fix it? Playback was fine in the previous version.
Thank you for doing this video. This may seem not a lot but oh boy I get stuck on the simple stuff and it is frustrating.... I absolutely love these short tips videos. Thank you!!
If im animating a text in and out within a fusion composition, I want it to be timed with the footage in the timeline. So how can I edit the text animation in the fusion composition while timing the keyframes according to the events in the footage if I can't see the timeline at the same time?
Is this yours or just review? Bcz i saw also the ssl controller and co sole 1...tbh console1 is a bit stupid bcz you have to buy every plugin for a 100bucks each and the ssl is just an ssl also chamnel and fader. I really wanna have an audio controller for faster work tired of clicking
Again it's YOU bringing the answer to my question. I'm a subscriber since I began with davinci resolve and I never regret this subscription! Congrats, thanks, and wish you the best with this account.
I came here for a quick tip that I needed but learned a ton. The colour grading in Davinci is the only one I don't really know. Thank you very much for helpful tips. Have a good evening.

I just completed importing the media files successfully in the Media Manager. In case anyone's facing the Media Offline issue, Let me break this down for you. 1. Once unzipped, Click on the project.drp file. This will directly import the entire archive into the media manager. 2. The problem: You see the media-offline messages for media in all the bins. 3. Manually select all the bins (01-07). This will display all the content from each bin. 4. Select all (67 pieces of content),right click, "Relink selected clips" 5. Navigate to Media Files. Select folder. WALLAH!! In case still doesn't work, Navigate till the next folder in Media Files. Select folder. WALLAH AGAIN!! Also, I haven't started the course yet but the comments made me feel I'm in the right place.
as a compositor for a tv series, this was super helpful so i could wrap my head around the workflow of fusion. we currently use after effects but i've been wanting to rebuild our filters inside fusion and this got me rolling.
Hey - I recently did with a video clip onto a moving billboard. However I found grading the clip once it was in almost impossible - if I added colour nodes etc after it not only was sub-par compared to the colour page, but actually for some reason ruined the masking. And grading on the colour page just did the composite clip as a whole, so both media inputs together. Is there a way of getting the ‘media in’ media into the colour page to grade (without doing it separately and then having to placing into fusion once graded)?
