Great review, JT! I work at Walmart and happen to work in Sporting Goods, so I always got my eye on the knives and stuff we get in. I recently lost my pocket knife I been carrying so I'm currently in the market for a new one, and I love the lil budget knives we have. They stand up well to the more expensive competition and can take a beatin' and keep on gettin'! Glad to see someone showing 'em some love. If you haven't seen the Swiss Tech knives we carry right now (Gerundet, Wurdig, and Stalhern), I highly recommend those. They're my favorite we got in at the moment, and would love to see you do a review of 'em!
I’ve seen those Swiss knives and I think they look awesome, especially the fixed blade! I’m going to have to pick them up at some point and do a review. Thank you for the kind words and overall feedback!
@@NotNuffKnives Dude, heck yeah! I'd love to see that. Just picked up the Wurdig myself, and the SOG Seal Pup, this morning. Eventually I wanna get that Swiss Tech fixed blade myself; I've heard it's a very good and reliable bushknife.
@@Sanguivore Do you have Instagram? Maybe we could work something out with a heads-up on sales and clearance so I can pass it onto the community and help out a little! With Nerf stuff too! 🧡
@@NotNuffKnives Oh, man, that’s a great idea! I don’t currently have Instagram (or any social media anymore for that matter), but do you have a Discord by chance? :0
Woah! JT from NotNuffNerf? :0 Never knew you had a knife channel, bud! What are the odds we have this as a crossover interest, lol. Great review, and love the history, man! Cheers.
Hey man what a small world! I was wondering how you found this channel! I actually started this one in 2013 and use it as a hobby because I love knives and outdoor gear. Love to have you, man!
@@NotNuffKnives Oh, man, that's so cool! :D I just so happened to be looking for reviews on the SOG Seal Pup and the Gerber Strongarm and happened upon this video, and within the first few seconds, I was like "Waiiit a minute..." LOL. Happy to be here, man! I also love knives and fun lil gear, so I'm stoked to see what you got cooking up. ☺
@@Sanguivore Awesome man! I own a Strongarmqa nd Prodigy but I don't think I have a Seal Pup! My collection is decent but far from where I want it to be RN! 😝
Picked one up today as it is starting to look like the local Wallyworld is not getting more Ozark Trail knives in. I'm running it backwards and clipped into my right front pocket since it's a belt vs pocket clip. Seems like pry bar sturdy tho. Might stipple the handle.
Gerber eventually saved this knife. The Ultimate Pro is almost indestructable. Believe me, people tried. It had better steel, a full tang and other improvements. Sadly, by that time BG was no longer popular and they discontinued it about 8 years ago. It went from $81 to $148 on secondatry markets. I picked one up when it came out and I am glad I did.
7CR17MOV is a trash steel. The metal is too soft for any real use. If you're just using it for light tasks, it will be fine. But, it is no good as a survival type knife.
I've been carrying this exact same one for 4 days now and my only complaint is the removable clip on the sheath. Almost every time I sit down in a chair, mower seat, in the car, it catches and pushes up and off. I've gotten out of the car twice now and noticed it's not there.
1:35 "I have another 100 of these [scalpel] blades on the way for hobby purposes." Me: O_O What kind of hobby you got there? [does he secretly perform surgeries for fun?]
Paid 7 dollars on clearance for this knife at Walmart. Hated it at first but it's my go to out of my many knives now and I think I have the strongest thumb on the planet as I just can't leave it alone.
Lost one bought the same 5 years every day with me. I love it, no springs, no nothing that could fail simple and reliable open boxes and repair anything very hard steel often use it as a lever. Only down side is very quickly becomes not sharp especially if you open packages and is harder to make it sharper becouse of the steel material, but if you sharp it once a month will be good enough not very sharp but enough to open stuff. And screws on clip are a bit odd style too mini and usual size need to retighten them once a year.
Hey that's a good selling point! No mechanical complications. Haven't put mine through enough places to warrant a resharpening yet (I have a HUGE rotation) but at least the metal is not too hard to sharpen!
