Joe has been a weather nerd since the age of three watching thunderstorms from his mom’s basement apartment. His love for the weather grew at age 10 following Hurricanes on The Weather Channel. In his 8th grade Earth Science class he began learning how & why the weather worked, leading him to study Meteorology at SUNY Stony Brook, earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Meteorology. Today he wants to share his knowledge and love of the weather with you and together continue growing the weather geek culture.
I am a twin, so I know that we can be a handful. But I am glad to see you back. Thank you for all that you do! Prayers from SE Florida for all in the path of this Godzilla-sized storm! 🙏🏾 🌀 🤯
Joe, you are really missing some action that’s coming together. Likely hurricane maybe even major hurricane going to smash into the gulf states by the end of week
Issac, due to watching scary simulations, scares me. In year's past, the "I" storms tend to be destructive and often get retired. 14 names of the retired hurricane list of names are "I" storms. I hope none of those simulations comes to pass. If they do, Florida's in trouble. Praying for a different outcome for Issac
This season is actually very similar in pace to 2000, which produced 15 named storms, 8 hurricanes, and 3 major hurricanes, in fact, we are still ahead of that season by a marginal amount. So, I do think there is the possibility to see another 5 to 10 named storms on top of what has already occurred in the Atlantic. Now yes, I do know the Atlantic has had an extraordinarily quiet end to August and early September, but I think things could change in about the next week or two, nothing crazy but a little bit of activity could try to show.
Give some time for Helene to form after reorganizing itself by Tuesday, invest 95L may be designated on that day or maybe Monday. Some models slowly start to show a trajectory towards New York. That is 6 days from now.
(AFTER ALL THIS I REFUSE TO MARRY ANYONE EVER SINCERELY DEBORAH LYNN MASTERS) SERIOUSLY I WILL SPIT IN ANYONES FACE IF ASKED (STILL HOMELESS IN BOILING SPRINGS SOUTH CAROLINA AND I REFUSE TO GO TO A HOMELESS SHELTER ON MY OWN PLANET SINCERELY DEBORAH LYNN MASTERS)
the disturbance off the florida coast could be very concerning for the northeast coast, we dont know if this thing will blow up to a major low end hurricane by impact to the northeastern seaboard. Helene is next.
I think the GFS has a great handle on TD 7 looking at the NHC forecast for the storm, but we'll see because we'll never know for sure yet and it always can change for the EURO to win for TD 7 strengthening into a hurricane if that verifies.
