I'm Ben G Kaiser. I help creative professionals choose the right tech and tools for their field so that they can create free of technical constraints.
When I first started my journey as a creative professional I struggled to understand the ins-and-outs of purchasing a laptop for my creative pursuits. I created this channel to cut through the technical noise and help you find the best machine for your needs.
If you are a graphic designer, photographer, video editor, or any other creative professional you are in the right place. From lists featuring the best laptops of the year to the head-to-head battles between specific laptops, you are in the right place.
Hi, I have bought the MSI prestige 16 studio with specifications CORE I7 13700H, RTX 4060, 1TB, 16GB DDR5 for my design, 3D modeling, and rendering work as it was recommended to me for its affordable price. I wanted to ask if it is normal for the laptop's temperature to range from 50° to 60° during normal use like browsing the web, watching videos, office work, etc. And when I use programs like V-Ray, it reaches more than 90° with the fans at full speed. I have never had a high-end laptop and I don't know if this is normal for a new one. Thank you
I mean having a phone processor immediately puts it on chrome book levels and in the disregard category. I had an hp Spectre that was .63 inches thick but was actually a real laptop
I’ve never had a laptop ever, I always had a desktop, I just built a new rig in the beginning of the 40 super series. Working on the another house on the land and going back and forth is what made me go buy a laptop. I ended up getting a steal, Lenovo LOQ Ryzen 5 7000 series 16 gigs of DDR5 5600, RTX 4060, 1TB for 749.99 at my local micro center. Actually didn’t even pay that cause I had me and my wife’s old Apple Watches I already reset for our new ones. She ended up letting me trade them in so I got 260 for each one 520 off 749.99 so I got it brand new sealed for 230 bucks. My main rig blows it out the water. But just had my first weekend away working on the house and I had my whole main rig at my disposal away from home was playing cod, hades 2 early access, and even some f1 24 been loving it!
recently i feel that using physical pieces of the laptops creates a bit of clutter in presenting and comparing the features becuz now you must HANDLE the equipment with your hands and turn it around physically and that in my eyes does take quite a bit of attention away from the laptop itself. it also prevents us from zooming-in on the details becuz many of the connectors are TINY and require the laptop to be standstill in order to zoom into it. i also worry "just" a little bit that we might Not be getting un-biased review/advice if "you" must somehow OWN the laptops you review 🤩. but thanks a Lot for all the hard work you do and the effort you put in to cover the feature and value comparison of these laptops. keep it up sir 🥰🥰😍😍👌👌👌
I got the core ultra 9 4070 transcend 14, and I couldn't be happier! I'm coming form a MacBook pro 2023 lol. windows is such a better OS Imo. I have noticed that the transcend 14 has some light coil whine when running super demanding games. Other than that, the computer stays cold no matter what game I play. It performs like a beast, and I'm super impressed. Id recommend this computer to anyone who wants a multimedia powerhouse, that is also portable.
Just bought the Pro 5i Gen RTX 4070 Gen 9 w/ 32G RAM, 2 1TB HDs (in large part based on ur reviews). I'm 65, retired, not smart w/ computers (great job explaining for laymen). Lenovo site +-$200 less than Amazon/BB. Use for DJ production (edits, mashups, etc), my retirement fun. As u said, great for music production. Best bang for buck I could find.
I bought legion slim 5 about a month ago I don't know how but my laptop top lid is bending little bit from the logo side and even when I close the lid it leaves some gap, i want know that it's my device only or other people also have this issue
Ngl I do wish Lenovo would use the design of the slim, make it thicker for ventilation and stuff, cuz i think the Slim 7i got the best minimal design, the Pro 7i 2023 and 2024 still have those ugly back vent and side vent. also an full size SD card reader please
I have the legion 5 pro gen 9 with 14900hx and 4070 but on performance mode cpu temps reach 97 - 100 not constantly but the peaks and then throttle again, Lenovo they already replaced the heatsink and motherboard i tried the PTM7950 honeywell (am not sure if the one i bought is not the orignal ) with all that temps still the same, any suggestion ? like different thermal paste, does thermal pad make huge difference?. Thanks
Nice Video! Which configuration would you get? i9-14900HX+4070 €1851,76 i7-14700HX+4070 €1814,26 i9-14900HX+4060 €1701,76 i7-14700HX+4060 €1664,26 i7-14650HX+4060 €1619,26 All with 32RAM, 1TB SSD and the 240hz, 100% DCI-P3 display (same as pro 7i) We're already pretty sure that we wanna order it directly from Lenovo Austria. The prices above include the 24% discount they have only for the pro 5i at the moment. Just not sure about the configuration. Leaning towards i9+4070. Is the maxed out version what you would recommend? Would like to know if the components would work together as well as in your version.. In case you're still reading.. we love that we heard in other reviews that the fans are almost silent during surfing or streaming movies or maybe even less demanding games (we love rain world or animal well). Is that also your experience? We also wanna make music with it. Will it still be quiet enough when we wanna record stuff with a microphone? We can live with fan noise when doing more demanding stuff, since we heard it gets loud but the fans don't sound too harsh. Couldn't live with that high pitched fan noise the much more expensive Asus Zephyrus G16 is doing even in quiet mode as shown in another review video for example. The slimmer Legion i7 is around 270 euros more expensive with similar configurations, tests worse as far as we know and the fans sound way louder.. After 10 years with our Acer Nitro we're probably a bit traumatized by fan noise haha. We wanna use it otherwise for photoshop, video editing+stopmotion animation, and the occasional high demanding game. Thank you so much for any input by you or others who have experience with this laptop gen 8 or 9 ❤️
Considering the 4060 version of this. anyone have it and can vouch for the use cases? I'd like to do Blender, graphics work, CAD software and potentially Visual studio / Android studio with emulation. Might be a big ask from a laptop but cannot find anything on the use of this besides some gaming.
