I'm not sure about any performance gains, but the bike ran pretty good without requiring a tune like a bunch of other bikes. Guess, that's a Honda for you!
All of the slip on cans you get from ebay will be way to loud as they are usually designed for modern bikes with a split muffler system. They are made as small as possible to reduce material and shipping costs. Baffles are not a solution as they create too much back pressure and you will lose performance and suffocate the engine. If you want the best running performance and silicencing the factory exhausts are best. Mid pipe baffles make no sense at all unless you have a primary muffler upstream from the secondary muffler/slip on. The purpose of the baffle is to trap gasses as long as possible within the muffler to increase sound absorption. If it's done before the muffler you trap gasses within the downpipes which does not serve it's purpose.
Great stuff i just bought an aftermarket exhaust for mine started it up and thorght oh no what have i done so loud, ridiculously so. This video could lead me a quick solution to tone it down a little.
Hard to hear any pops on acceleration or deceleration. Would you recommend the Delkevic regardless? I tried Just the Tip by Dean Speed and the pops are non- stop on decel. I didn't like it.
Yes, I would recommend the Delk in addition to installing the Booster Plug. It helped some in reducing the decel pops. However, there is no getting rid of the decel or accel pops unless you have your ECU flashed by Ivan's Performance Products which costs $350. That was too much for me!! Otherwise, I have accepted the pops and they no longer bother me. Below are links on my other videos including installing the Booster Plug. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KdTcwnlT8eE.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fD6ZBnzAmJE.html
@@stevofish7 Well, you're never too old to "enjoy life" Pops BUT you're always too old to take our lives away with your poor driving reflexes. Please just sell it
The trick is to change both front and rear - loosen off all the mounts and stabilisers, take the swingarm off and virtually take the engine out of the frame will give you enough movement to change them all, The front mount is relatively easy compared to the rear one - even removing the swingarm is a breeze - but if the tube that goes through the lug on the rear of the motor is seized in then you have a real job on you hands. Harley changed the design on later models and you can retrofit the new version, but only if you can get the old one out ! I changed the front and rear mounts with nothing but simple tools and experience and fitted the Drag Spec replacements which hopefully will last longer than the softer H-D ones - and they ( all 4 - front and rear) were less than the price of just one H-D rubber !
Yeah, come to realize they all do so at certain degrees of severity. I was really feeling it in the handlebars at idle. I traded her in for a true 1200 and the idle vibration and the ride is way better.
The 2009 had the 1200 moniker on the air intake cover, but after reviewing the VIN, I discovered it was an 883. I had no idea if it ever was upgraded to 1200ccs by having the 1200 kit installed, but I kinda thought that may be the reason for the excessive vibrations if they did install the 1200 kit. I also replaced the front motor mounts, but that did not help. I had no idea about the Harley vibration issues until I got the 2009, but thankfully my current 1200 is much better and I'm enjoying the ride!
@@dawidgogacz Levels out at higher RPM. At least mine does. Their kind of hopped up, peaked cams. My plugs were white ( to lean on fuel ) A tuner ( Vance and Hines ) fuel pak 3 smoothed mine out a lot. 08 1200, goes like a raped ape.
Got that right! Backing up is challenging unless you can keep it straight. I only got it for emergencies, so can't comment on how it handles on the HWY
The CB300 was a great bike, but it was time for an upgrade in power and got an 07 Suzuki SV650. Didn't want to have two bikes and sold it to someone who actually wanted to downgrade in cc's 😄
Ya that’s exactly what I did with my cb. I had a 2020 z900 and what a great bike but just not a perfect fit for my riding/lifestyle..got the fast out of me at least for awhile 👍
Well the majority of the time if you have seen my videos...LOL I use a size 1 octopus hook and Senko worms where I put a rubber O ring around the smooth part (upper middle) of the worm to hold the hook. I also use 12-14lb fluorocarbon line as that line is strong!
I like using a medium heavy rod. I'm a cheapskate when it comes to buying rods & reals so really up to you. Gotta be a light rod 6-7ft and I usually get size 2000-3000 spinning reel and I fill the spool half way or a little over. Just wasting line if ya fill the spool close to max
Actually the one and only time I went to Calero Reservoir in South San Jose after dropping my daughter off with her friends at Great America park.....LOL!
@stevofish7 : Nice thanks for the quick reply ok lake, mercury ruins any pan fare! Coyote still has some fish you can eat! Have you ever fished New Hogan. I hear there s no docks to launch from?
I strictly stick to fishing the delta now. Those big lakes are a little to far for me tho the delta is still an hours drive for me to get to which is just right. If ya google maps Lake Hogan, it appears that they do have a boat ramp. Good luck man! We all need it! LOL!
Hey Steve O, It's ramps only, but no docks so kind of primitive! All the taxes we pay the state it should have docks attached to the ramp like New Melonies or Pardee?
Wow, glad your ok. This has been a known problem with Tracker trailers. I hope I never get into that situation. That was so dangerous and life threatening . I hope Tracker did something to help you out, but I seriously doubt they did.
Thanks! It was scary when the axel let loose as wasn't sure which way the trailer would go! Yeah, I didn't even bother trying to contact Tracker on this as it's been 11 years since I bought it new....but who knows, I may give it a try....
Springs more than likely were engineered to a global standard. Which these days means minimal requirements. I am sick tired of engineers theses days building to a minimum instead of building it to last, like things used to.
Yep, based on other posts, the recent Tracker boats have come out with a thicker single leaf spring which there have been plenty of complaints about and folks have been upgrading to 3-4 leaf springs which we can only hope last as long or longer than mine did...
@@acarr83 Wish I had known about the torsion axels sooner but they do appear limited in size selections as I didn't see any with my trailers 79" wheel hub length, plus you don't have to worry about the axel falling off like with the leaf springs when they break. Surprised there's nothing to help keep the axel sort of in place if the leaf spring fails.
Got lucky, didn't know which way the trailer was going to go especially when the axel let loose!! Also, thankful the spring didn't go on the other side as it may have swung into the other lane....
Yeah, I definitely never expected this to happen after 11 years of ownership. The tow truck driver said he has seen this before and was pretty experienced on loading boats onto his flatbed.
Same thing happened to my leaf springs after less than 5 years, but it was due to the fact that one of my u-bolts failed. Luckily I wasn't on the highway, but I was in the middle of a curve on a 2 lane road, which was definitely no fun, either..
Trust me, getting to a spot wide enough to be safely away from the traffic lane is the right move. People do get smashed stopped in a highway lane, and for what? To save a probably already ruined tire?
Agreed, could've saved my axel, but I didn't want to chance blocking or partially blocking the first lane with those speeding semi-trucks and cars behind me. There wasnt enough room on the side of the HWY until the axel went. Just thought it was something going on with the tire and didn't know that the spring actually broke and holds everything together!! I hope there's not a next! 🤞
I would think that if you took that to a H-D dealer and asked any of their experienced staff to take it for a quick ride around the block, they would be able to tell if it is still an 883, or has been upgraded to a 1200. In about a block.....
1000 lbs. Look up the Slick Wheelie on The USA Trailer Store for more info at: theusatrailerstore.com/the-original-slick-wheelie-motorcycle-hauler/ I'm pretty sure on the reviews, someone said they hauled their motorcycle on a long trip. I only had it for emergencies. Note that their specs state that the front tire cannot be wider than 5.5 inches, but I would say below 5.5" as I tried to mount the 5.5' rear tire of the Zero and it would not fit. It will also not fit a tall tire like a 19" rim wheel that was 26" overall (including tire) which was on my former 09 Sportster. Unfortunately, I sold my Zero and gave the Slick Wheelie to the buyer, so can't provide any measurements for the Slick Wheelie.
Did you have any problem with the battery overcharging when towing? (I have a zero s) Also how would you review the system after having it for a bit? Thanks.
I mainly got it for emergencies. I actually only towed it for this video. Otherwise, it does the job for the right front wheel rim (around 17") and non-wide tires. I tried mounting the bike in reverse with the rear tire, but the tire was too wide to fit in the cradle.
The bike ran fine. It just had some decel pop which a lot of folks do not like and end up getting a tune/flash. I did not like it also, but did not want to spend the $350+ to get a flash on the ECU. I learned to accept the decel pops and like it now. I'm no expert, but I do not believe the decel pops or the cause of it damage the engine. I even have the decel pops with my Sportster 1200 after changing the pipes and I like it!
That is a GPS speedometer gauge I got off of Amazon as the 2014 Bolt speedometer gauge is hard to read in certain lighting conditions. Yamaha fixed that problem beginning with the 2015 model. This was an easy fix instead of replacing the whole stock display gauge.
If you're finding that a possible remap is needed due to backfires, decel pops, or lower power after making mods to your bike, then this will not eliminate from doing a remap. It may help a little if you add an insert that adds backpressure that was loss due to installing an aftermarket exhaust. I was actually doing a little research for my Harley Sportster as I recently added a cheap after market Ebay slip-on and it was pretty loud and had decel pops. I found out about the Thunder Torque Inserts (TTI) that adds power back on the low end and may also get rid of the decel pops (tho they don't advertise it as not guaranteed). So, I'm gonna try to add a silencer and the Thunder Torque Insert and hoping for the best. The Thunder Torque Inserts looks pretty promising, but you can also make your own by looking up "lollipop set up on motorcycle exhaust" on RU-vid. However, other threads said the TTI works better than making your own. Below are links to the TTI RU-vid video and their website to purchase. No. 1 or 2 will reduce it a little. I hear you about being heard for safety. In the end, you'll get use to the noise level with/without and so will your neighbors, maybe 😆
Thought it would help with the slight backfire at accel and some decel pops after installing the aftermarket pipes but did not help much. Noticed a slight increase in acceleration, so maybe not worth it.
@@stevofish7 What exhaust did you fit? I was interested in the Boosterplug because I've read it make for a smoother ride (my bike has a bad case of fuel cut - factory setting) when accel/decel and the Boosterplug is more cost efficient than an ECU flash, but I guess from your comment/experience it's not really a good fix
@@GGGmAn001 I was going the cheaper route also LOL! I had on a Delkevic muffler and a K&N air filter. If you look under the Delkevic website under FAQ and "Will the Boosterplug remove the backfire/popping in my exhaust?" and they promise REDUCED popping/backfires but not remove it completely as I had questioned them about this after install. So, yes, it reduced it some and I just dealed with the occasional backfire/popping which wasn't that loud and went back to the stock air filter and kept the Delk on the bike. FYI - I had also tried the EJK fuel controller, but that was a total waste of time as none of the settings worked. So, if your situation is similar, it may help some. Too bad for us, they did not make anything easy when upgrading stock equipment.....
To me it's running like the IAC control valve is plugged up. A good cleaning with Throttle body cleaner should solve that. Maybe 20 minute job on the high end. Lots of RU-vid videss on how to do it. Two Wheeled Rocco has a good one.
