I have found that working a site, and you think you have it all cleaned out, but then a lightning storm comes through and charges the ground and makes everything glow in the ground, so a place is never really all cleaned out!

I completely agree. I go back to sites multiple times, walk over spots I have worked multiple times and still find good targets.

I’ve done a couple of trips to England, and there they called the round broach with the pin, an annular broach. My brother lives in the Gaylord area and we have done some fun trips in that area. Thanks for your videos!

Okay I'm coming to Michigan I'm from Georgia and I bet you that good soil y'all got up there yeah it's better than digging this soil down here on Georgia red clay
@Eric_Detectorist
@Eric_Detectorist 10 часов назад
Michigan soil does change drastically depending on where in the state you hunt. Lower and central Michigan tend to be more clay, UP has dark iron soil and shoreline areas tend to have sand. Good luck if you get out detecting.

I'm not authority at all, but that mystery copper object that's the hollow "cone" with the little "bracket"-ish thing on the narrow end looks a lot like a trecking pan. Sometimes the handle would fold, sometimes they wouldn't but looks like it was made to go onto a stick and be heated over a fire. Maybe that's what some of the rest of your copper slaw is... the remains of an old pan! hahaha. Great video as always. Wish I could come up and detect with you some day!
@Eric_Detectorist
@Eric_Detectorist День назад
I think you could be correct. I would say late mid 1700s copper pan/kettle. Thanks for watching.

Love those finds. Wow! I’m in Boise Idaho. The only way I could get stuff like that, would be fur trapping routes. Do you have any advice on how I could obtain information on routes? Historical Society? We have one near my place. Thank for saving. Those rings are super crude, cool,! All day, everyday. Marvin.

Thank you, I would recommend searching archeological sites, local museums, local library. All good ways to find early sites.

Congrats on the finds. Can't believe how well those artifacts come out of the ground for being exposed to the elements for over 200 years. I have never seen an oxen shoe in that good of condition just amazing. Must be the sandy soil.
@Eric_Detectorist
@Eric_Detectorist 3 дня назад
Thank you, the sand here is very kind to the artifacts but they do require quick preservation as well. especially the iron and pewter or they deteriorate quickly out of the soil.

Copper spear, that was a trade item, it also predates columbus comming to the americas does it not. lol
@Eric_Detectorist

That copper spear was probably used to hunt wooly mammoths and wild bison. The copper culture natives stopped using copper and went back to stone tools 2000 years before Columbus.
