I got these with the gas shocks. They work well. I did remove the gas shocks though. I found the shocks added extra force and that force wasn't transferred to the sensor, so they actually interfered with the accuracy instead of enhancing it. The shocks felt good, but any change in gas force caused a change in the sensor force while you maintained the same force on the pedal. The whole idea of load cell pedals is so you can maintain a constant force on the load cell no matter where the pedal is, so anything that is not connected to the load cell interferes with that. The gas shocks aren't connected to the load cell. I like having the springs for adjustments in the brakes. I prefer them to elastomers. I do like the automatic calibration in the software, but I wish the settings could be manually adjusted to make slight modifications.
You mentioned that you will try out Simjack Pro to compare against these. I hope you will review the newly released SImjack Ultimate instead. No reviews of these new pedals out there yet.
These can also be used with your preferred calibration software for the record, since you guys mentioned the software was the weak point. So simsonn kept that open for people who really like to tweak and mess with the software.
@@jtgracing1 Freejoy and Dxtweak2 are popular options. Heusinkveld's Diview works as well iirc. But yeah, I rather use those since they're much better.
@@jtgracing1 Freejoy and Heusinkveld's DIView are both very solid options that are far better than simsonn's own app, AND they're opensource. Check them out. Make sure you make a backup of the original firmware of the pedals before changing anything tho!
RU-vid keeps deleting my comments for whatever reason, so I'm going to try a 3rd time. I use Freejoy to calibrate mine. It's much better than the simsonn app. Give it a shot, but make sure you backup the original firmware before making any changes! There's a good tutorial that shows how it works. Solid review bro.
I love these pedals. So much more consistent all round. From trail braking to slip angle, the control is there. And I love that you can adjust everything about them, like travel and also they include SPRINGS!!!!!
Haha, I have these same pedals and love them. At 14:25 you are mashing the hell out of the elastomers. Take that green spring and put it between the two black elastomers and put the stock spring back on the bottom and give that a try.
I may have to try to get myself a set of these. I'm currently on a set of modded Thrustmaster T-LCM pedals that are getting old and somewhat iffy, since something broke on the throttle causing the return spring to sproing and I haven't even done any exploration to find out what exacly failed. I currently have a couple of mini bungee cords providing access to throttle setting other than other than fully matted. I've got a Fanatec CSL DD 8 nm and I bought a set of the CSL (I think) pedals as an upgrade a couple of years ago that due to Fanatec's absolutely worthless support/service and apparently also quality control I have never even been able to get working properly. A number of personal hardships at around the same timeframe made it too difficult to pack the entire flippin' set of pedals back up to ship back to Fanatec, which was the only choice they gave me and my objections were simply ignored. Sorry about the long ramble, but I now regret ever sending one penny to Fanatec and strongly encourage everyone to boycott Fanatec, because if you need them after sending them your money they'll leave you hung out to dry. If I lived near a physical presence of theirs I'd be highly likely to return them in person by firing them through their windows with a cannon. And I will never send those rat bastards another damn penny if I can help it. I wish nothing but the worst for their executives responsible for their incompetence. I didn't mean for this to be a rant, but a white hot anger grips me when I just think about my experience with them and now I forgot what I actually intended to comment. Eff Fanatec! Oh, you might want to try to somehow reinforce your pedal plate, because I'd expect with the way it flexes a good inch at least at the leading edge, you might metal fatigue something to the point of failure. Also, Crocs? Couldn't find any clown shoes to use for driving? 😉🤣
Helpful video, thanks. These are currently $70 off on Amazon so I grabbed the 2 pedal hydraulic set - $170 total. Seems like this quality pedal for its regular price is great so for $170 it’s crazy. My SR-Ps were close to that price with tax and shipping. Thanks for the setup info.
For me pcars2 and ams2 are fantastic single player vr experiences. As far as the ffb of pcars2...i just accept it as is and drive on😎 i am a little upset i cheaped out and never got all the dlc for it though. Thank you for the half hour escape from reality. Peace✌️
nice video, unfortunately we can’t buy this from steam anymore. i had to buy a steam key from a site. everything is working - they disabled time trials and a few other things which is a shame. i love the Formula Renault 3.5 in this game. perfect for new sim racers - start on this, go to automobilista 2 then ACC before going to Iracing.
I would agree for sure with that path maybe even throw in some rFactor 2 just cause on sales it’s super cheap. And you get a great tire model. I even think lobbies are still live on it too!
If the NRG seat comes in *extra* large, I haven't seen it. I have a Large FRP-300, and it's suitable... Might just mount the Lazy-boy office chair though.
😂😂 that lazy boy would be sick for those endurance races . But I did find that nrg prisms to be a bit more comfortable than my trak racer bucket so maybe I’ll look into it.
He covered the major points really well! I agree on the NRG QR and the consistency that comes with upgrades. A chassis is next for me and headroom in my base is after that
I have had these pedals for a few weeks now. I've super happy with them. There are a few minor issues but it's so modular that you can fix / adjust almost everything! Once you dial them in to suit, they feel great. Definetly worth the cost.
@@Ep1o However they are assembled when shipped, I recommend you put one of the metal springs between two of the elastomers on the brake with the stock spring at the bottom, it really allows for precision let off and trail braking.
Great video! Im playing today with a Moza R5 Wheel, and is fucking great. There is big range of cars with different handling profiles. Im not hearing anyone giving love to the sheer sound in Project Cars 1? PS4/PS5 or PC dosent matter. Try out the formula A/1 car out - Its like a gun going of for every gear shift! Handling is better in PC 2, but for only the sound in PC 1 it still fire it up at least once a week.
I’ll have to try out PC1 I have t been on it since it came out on PS and I was terrible at it but I had so much fun on controller as I didn’t have a wheel back then lol. Thanks for checking the video out!!
I believe you still might be able to get a key off of g2a but it’s hard because no sites sell the game anymore at least on pc on console you should be good obviously
I'm using the Fanatec CSL that I got second-hand. But, I have Sim-Lab GT1-Pro, so I snagged a Sim-Lab XP-1 set for the upgrade. Need to try the CSLs for a bit to see what I'm actually upgrading for though. Also need to have a set to review add-ons, right?
great video, can I suggest that you adjust your mic settings please? it sounds like maybe the gain is too high, as with your normal register of voice is getting all crunched.
I play only on PC so I havent been on GT in a super long time, plus I dont think im at that level to coach other people just yet! Would be happy to give you any tips if you need any though just from my driving!
@@Vikingkinggaming definitely Assetto Corsa as you can get free mods for just about anything you want to drive. I’d recommend automobilista 2 and then maybe even acc for gt driving if that’s what you like. After that pc comes everything is gonna open for you it’s gonna be wild! I was watching one of your vids man driving looks solid on gt7 keep that good work up 💪💪
PC2 is the only game I have that I can do a full on 24 hours race and finish it in its entirety. One thing that's missing in a lot of racing games that I think should be added is the driver swap feature. One of the reasons why I come back to this game. I don't have friends that I can switch with during a 24 hour race, so the AI is the next best thing. The AI is not even that bad in PC2 either.
That’s crazy I did 6 hours of Glenn on iRacing last week and that was wild. Time flies by though when you’re having fun on your favorite sim 24 hours feels like 10 when you have a smile on your face ! I haven’t done a long stint in pc2 but maybe that will change soon! Thanks for checking out the video!
Really liked the video! got a new sub. Only complaint was the audio from your mic was too loud compared to the gameplay audio. When you said oooh nice engine sound with the ferarri i could barely hear it and i wanted to after you said that! well done overall though
@@jtgracing1 What I would suggest are: - minimize the Gain on your Blue Yeti mic, as the mic input is clipping the whole time, so it distorts your real life voice. Set the gain much lower, and in your recording or streaming software your can add more volume to the now non-clipping mic if you want to, and - be sure you set the mic's polar pattern to cardioid, which is similar to a 'heart' shape, and - rotate the mic until you face with its side where you can see its headphone volume control (NOT the gain!) and the mute button. This is the side where the cardioid polar pattern gets its most signal from. General rule is, especially if you record for RU-vid / non-live content, that it's better to have too little audio than too loud/clipping, because in the video editing software you use you can add volume later, but if the source/recorded audio is already clipping, you can't do much about it in the video editing software. Keep up the good work, I enjoyed your video, and I'll always love Project Cars 2 :)
@@tamas_katona I seriously appreciate all the tips! I actually got really mad at myself after hearing the audio and watched like full length tutorial on how to get the best audio out of my setup. Taking your tips into account and testing it sound much better! Also thanks for checking the video out!
