Thanks so much. I had a box of each but they were only 10’s and I smoked them too fast lol. I had some Trinidad Vigia’s also. Prices being 4x what they were 18 months ago are forcing me to hold on to what I have much longer than I’d like to.

@@scottlucidi6476 Bolivar is my favorite. Smooth and spicy and I grab them every chance I can. I just opened the petit coronas and love those when I don’t have a lot of time for a smoke.
@@DaveZigars I'm in my infancy. I have 130 Vegueros brewing from 2022 to now born on dates, and I'm buying 10 good ones at a time now every 2 mos or so. Your sticks are in the GO zone now, so much respect to the build.
@@scottlucidi6476 Some of the stuff I have I picked up in 2019 with 2018 box dates so yeah, I am pretty fortunate. Especially when you look at today’s pricing. The Cohibas were $405 a box in 2022 and the unopened box I got in August of 2023 was $1,750. 😳

I’m right there with you bud. I was just looking at his site yesterday and he either had nothing in stock or the prices were more than double from a year ago and some triple. I have been buying Cubans for many years from several sellers. I heard about the 'price increase' that everyone seems to be upset about- but when did this occur? I might be living under a rock but haven;t noticed a huge price increase...
Cohiba Robustos are $563 USD delivered in the USA from my favorite online seller. That's today's price! So, why there is such a commotion about Cuban prices is still baffling to me...

None of the cigars I have are flavored. All 100% natural tobacco. Cigars can impart their inherent tobacco flavor (otherwise considered “marrying” if the strength and shade of the tobacco is different from one another and those cigars are in contact for an extended period of time. However that isn’t the case as all of these cigars are stored among their same blends and wrapper tobacco.
No, it depends on the country where they’re imported and sold. UK, Switzerland and Canada are three in which their government mandates health stickers be affixed upon import and prior to sale. Tabacuba tax labels are affixed before the larger barcoded and holographic authenticity guarantee seal. Sometimes they’re visible just below that seal. You can barely make out the raised lower portion of the seal in this video. The bottom of the box is burned in and the boxing date is stamped in ink. I’ve purchased all over the world for nearly 30 years and can assure you I do not but counterfeits.

I used to get some cigars and in Montreal when I traveled for business. Pricing in Canada is always higher because of taxes but a small splurge when there is always worth it. Pricing on Cuban cigars as a whole I’ve skyrocketed because the Cuban economy is so poor and the government is gouging figuring people will continue to pay. This I haven’t purchased any in a while (year or more) but I do have a box I haven’t opened that I’m about to do a opening video of as well as a new humidor tour. They were less than six months from boxing when I got them. It’s been about a year now and I usually like to let them mature a bit more. They’re ready to smoke as soon as they arrive. I just like to give ‘em some more time to marry completely. I’ve since sold that box to a friend. Should have kept them since they cost about 4x more now than what I paid If you can even find them.
There are numerous ways to identify fakes. First and foremost is only buy from a reputable vendor. Second is validate label codes and factory stamps. Combine all that with box construction, label placement, uniformity of cigar size, shape and band alignment. +++++
I believe the price when I bought it was around $1,500. I find myself adding distilled water maybe once a month if not every 3 weeks depending on Winter vs Summer months. It maintains humidity amazingly well.
For the most part they’re all in their own boxes with small exception of some single sticks mixed together. They’re also stored according to the tobacco profiles so as not to have a mild or medium stick directly next to it on top/bottom of a full bodied stick to avoid marrying flavors. Lastly, Cuban tobacco is the most closely related to Nicaraguan tobacco based in similar soil nutrients and characteristics. Therefore it wouldn’t be much of a concern putting them side-by-side as opposed to say a Dominican product. 👍
